Our 2 nights at the Inn at Bath were extraordinary. It all started with booking with Jackie over the phone - she was very friendly, excited, and asked our coffee/tea morning preferences. Her booking confirmation email is very helpful to plan your day - most notable check-in and breakfast information! There is a wonderful side parking lot to accommodate several guest cars - it might be a smidgen tight for big vehicles like trucks but there is also street parking nearby! Jackie helped us to our room during check in and gave some helpful tips and requests to make our stay so comfy. The Garden room was beautifully decorated and including a relaxing full sized tub. Although rainy during our visit, it is closest to the outdoor patio space to enjoy! After sharing about the room, Jackie gave us some amazing recommendations for restaurants and things to do that we very much used throughout our time in the greater Bath area! Jackie's breakfast was hearty, delicious, and locally sourced - the breakfast frittata and potatoes were so yummy! She respectfully tries to seat groups throughout the morning so that no one is crowded - allowing you to meet fellow travelers or keep to yourself as fits your morning preferences. She also gave us more suggestions for our 2nd day of adventures and again they did not disappoint! She left us a very yummy takeaway breakfast for our last morning as sadly we had to depart for our flight before breakfast. At every turn, Jackie and the Inn at Bath made for such a memorable experience. We would love to come back someday and we recommend it so much! read more

This is a lovely 7 guest room B&B on Washington street in Bath,ME. The owner purchased the property in Nov 2023. You would think she lived here her whole life! She was full of helpful hints and seemed to know what was going on and where. Kelly the inn keeper did a lovely job with the guest rooms, with beautiful new linens , towels etc. Each morning Kelly prepared a tasty yogurt cup with fresh fruit , granola and a Spot of jam. Then came the eggs prepared in ramekins with prosciutto, bacon or Canadian bacon . A light fruit selection and toast. Kelly went out of her way to be sure her gluten free guests got gluten free bread. Then she followed this up with a scone (delicious) or a petite serving of French toast. Today she dipped strawberries in chocolate. Of course there were pots of coffee, orange juice & water. A refrigerator with soft drinks to take with you. My friends and I had a lovely welcoming B&B!! 16 of us-- from age two-and-a-half to late-60s--spend a summer wedding weekend here -- we rented the entire Inn at Bath -- and were absolutely charmed and happy. It's surrounded by colonial and antebellum houses on hilly, shady streets, an easy walk to a small town with tasty restaurants, great shops, and fantastic bookstores; we visited the weekly market, and the river, and drove to sandy beaches and to rocky shores with tide-pools to explore. The breakfasts here were phenomenal--Jackie is an amazing baker and cook; the nights were cool and quiet; the mornings bright and quiet. Some of us were up by 5:30 a.m., but it was easy for others to sleep in. Our daughter the bride got ready in the Lavender Room as family members and friends peeked in, and others ate lunch on the patio. It's a wonderful place, somehow both elegant AND relaxed! The location is perfect for walking around town, strolling along the river and for walking the streets full of beautiful historic homes. There is plenty of parking at the inn. The rooms are pretty, clean and the bed was very comfortable! The linens were nice! Elizabeth was welcoming! It was wonderful Elizabeth checks to see if you have food allergies or what you want to drink in the morning. The fruit smoothie was a delicious treat in the morning. The French toast topped with fresh fruit and the bacon were delicious! The living rooms were welcoming. The negative was there are clear rules about dogs not allowed in the dining room. Unfortunately there was a couple with a large dog in the dining room. Since I have allergies I was not pleased when I saw the dog. The rules of the inn should be followed and enforced. I definitely will stay at the Inn at Bath when I return to Bath, Maine. read more

My boyfriend and I were exhausted from the week of Thanksgiving and wanted to escape to some peace and warmth. We decided to stay in the Captain's Cabin, which has both a jetted jacuzzi tub for two and a wood burning fireplace. After we got there, did not want to leave. The house smells like Christmas and Elizabeth was just the nicest. Our room was a few steps down to the basement, but it did not feel like a basement at all. It really did feel like you were entering a Captain's Cabin. And after dinner, my boyfriend and I rushed back to start up the fire and jump in the tub. The fire made the room nice and toasty and the room was filled with this amazing aroma of burning wood. We just soaked in the tub and took it all in. Breakfast was very yummy. Started off with some fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and coffee. Then came Elizabeth with a delicious quiche! And as I ate my delicious breakfast in the sweetly decorated dining room, I grew very sad. My stay was almost coming to an end. Sigh. Definitely going to make another visit up to the Inn at Bath. read more

Lovely, historic Inn located in the heart of Bath. Easy walk to the downtown area for those inclined. Jaquie was an excellent host and went out of her way to accommodate our vegan lifestyle. Our breakfasts were outstanding! The Inn has been maintained beautifully, with gorgeous floors, original built-ins, and furnishings. Our family stayed at the Inn at Bath for three nights this past August and it was a terrific experience. The common rooms were delightful and the bedroom was large and comfortable. Elizabeth was a wonderful host who correctly advised us to avoid touristy areas such as Freeport and to seek out some of the state parks for hiking and swimming. Elizabeth also recommended an excellent lobster pound in nearby Georgetown, Maine, as well as the state beach just south of there. Her breakfasts were wonderful and she went out of her way to accommodate my wife who is on a gluten-free diet. Recommended! read more

What you will not find at this inn is an impersonal staff or an army of cleaning women in those awful little maid smocks. You will not find the haughty, nose-in-the-air feeling that sometimes comes with inns of this class. You will not find yourself feeling like an anonymous guest at some fancy-pants resort. What you will find is a relaxing retreat. You will feel pampered, but not intruded upon. You will feel at home. You will find that you want to come back. Arriving at The Inn at Bath is like dropping in on relatives you didn't know you had. Elizabeth, the owner and inn keep, is like your favorite aunt. You know... the cool one. She's energetic and enthusiastic, but not overbearing. She's like that aunt who might say to you, "Have a great time while you're here and I don't care what you do; just don't do anything I'm going to have to tell your mother about. At least not in front of me..." When we arrived, she was just getting out of her car with her dog. We all stood in her kitchen, which also serves as the main entrance for guests, and chatted for 20 minutes about everything under the sun. It really was like showing up at a familiar place after a long absence. "This is your room, extra towels are in there. Cups are in the cupboard, breakfast is in the morning; let me know if you don't eat eggs or bacon. If you have leftovers from dinner, there's room in the fridge, but put your name on them." In addition to this charming welcome, Elizabeth gave us the low-down on all of the best places to eat at, not to eat at and what things to see and do. She's a wealth of knowledge. One only has to look at the "what to do" tab on the inn's website to see what I'm talking about. As for the particulars, this inn is situated just outside the "downtown" area of Bath on a shady, quaint street. Everything is within walking distance, but somehow, you don't know you're so near to the hubbub. My husband and I stayed in the Fo'c'sle room on the basement level. The room was appointed with a Jacuzzi tub for two, a queen sized bed, private bath and a fireplace. It was lovely. The décor was pretty typical modern New England cottage. The bedroom was furnished with antiques and painted soft sage greens, whites and warm earth tones while the bath featured light paint and classic, mirrored finish accessories. There is nothing too fussy about the place, but it had a truly comfortable, welcoming feel. An advantage of staying in the Fo'c'sle is that it has a private outside entrance onto a stone patio. I enjoyed a bottle of wine there, in a glass borrowed from the kitchen, and read a book. Ah... bliss. When we went up for breakfast the first day, we found Elizabeth, cheerfully bustling around the kitchen preparing breakfast. Let me tell you, it's worth staying here just for this breakfast. We helped ourselves to deliciously dark, rich coffee and fresh juice, but passed on the fruit, yogurt and homemade granola to save room for what was coming. We DO eat both eggs and bacon and were treated with an open faced BLT. Atop toasted local artisanal bread sat a little pile of micro greens, thick cut bacon, a poached egg and a perfectly warmed tomato slice. It was made to order and it was divine. The only downside was that we were forced to watch the other couple staying at the inn, who had come up first, devour theirs while we waited for ours, drooling. The following day we noshed on ultra-moist, tender blueberry pancakes with enough butter in the batter to make them feel truly naughty, topped with real maple syrup and served with sausage. This breakfast is included in the price of your room. It features the fruit, yogurt and granola and a different hot dish each day. Do not skip it. I could go on about all of the things that we loved about this place, but there are just too many. When you stay here, you are staying with someone, in a home not at somewhere, in a room. Its geniune and familiar feeling. When we packed our car and turned in our key, I found myself fighting the urge to hug Elizabeth, like that familiar favorite aunt, and promise to visit next summer. read more

Awesome little inn, right near all the goodies that Bath has to offer. Me and my wife and I needed to get away from it all and just unwind and relax for a couple of days. Stayed in Captains Cabin, awesome room. Before day 1 was over, we had already decided to book another stay for later! Food for breakfast was great. The green chile egg puffs were divine. Bacon tastes like it was scraped fresh from the pig that day. Warm and inviting host, and staff. We could have just never left. We will be back, over and over... A short drive from Popham. If you've never been to the fort, it's a must visit.... While in town, you must eat at the Thai restaurant that's a 5 minute walk down Front Street. Avoid the steak house at the bottom of the hill next to the Church though... The steak in a McDonalds steak breakfast bagel is better than their steak. read more

Inn at Bath was a pleasant stay. Host Elizabeth was friendly, helpful and informative. She cooks a great breakfast, good variety and always has a yogurt mix available with fresh fruit and granola. The rooms were nice, we stayed in the Captains cabin and the kids stayed in another room near the kitchen. Both rooms were nice and the Captains Cabin had a big Jacuzzi and a fireplace. TV did not have much selection but I suppose if you are vacationing in such a beautiful place as Maine, TV should not be a focal point. The breakfasts were neat because you sat at a big table in the dining area and got to meet and talk to different people who are staying at the Inn. The Inn is pet friendly and we also got to meet lots of cool animals as well as guests. The other guests had wonderful stories and some had local knowledge of places to visit and things to do. Bath is a sleepy little town with a nice view of the river, lots of local shops; although you need to shop early as they roll up the sidewalks around 6, and a variety of restaurants. Bath also has a Maritime museum about a mile out of town that has great exhibits and knowledgeable guides and they also offer various lighthouse cruises on the river. We stayed 5 nights in Bath and that was a bit much. Kind of ran out of things to do in that length of time and I would recommend a 1-2 night visit but would recommend the Inn at Bath as a place to stay. read more

We stopped at the Inn on the way to Acadia--and it was first-rate. The place is a charming old house: filled with character. Our room was comfortable, spacious--with an enormous bed, good working WIFI: all windows and light. Our little dog was no problem. The owner Elizabeth and her staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to make our stay easy. Terrific breakfast: homemade poached-egg BLT, granola, smoothie, yogurt--couldn't ask for more. The Inn at Bath was one of the highlights of our trip, and I recommend it without hesitation. We're stopping there again on the return trip from Acadia! read more
