Pretty disappointing. The hostess let three groups wait about 5 minutes while taking several phone calls. They refused to sit us on the outside deck because they only allow tables of 4 or less there so the server tips are balanced (makes no sense to me, but a second server confirmed this). They only had 4 beers on tap, a Porter, a stout, a summer ale, and a blueberry ale, pretty lousy options for a so-called brew pub. Also 3 of the 5 meals were cold when served. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1 is that our server was kind. read more

Really good fried haddock sandwich! Delicious! So light and flaky, and just so good. The fries were good too! My husband got a burger and said it was the best burger he's had in months. Highly recommended! And the place was so busy, on Black Friday. The waiters kept apologizing, saying the food was going to take a while, but it was actually really quick. This place swung for the fences, and way out of the park they hit it. I had the lobster rolls just amazing they were. Sweet potato fries rounded out the dinner. Again just amazing. The Rubin sandwich my wife had was not to disappoint. The iced tea was quite tasty. Overall I would highly recommend this place. read more

I have been to this restaurant and other locations more than once. The food and service has always been average, but this time it was below average. Our appetizer dip did not come out warm, and our taco entree also came room temp. The waitress offered to microwave the tacos. Steak tip poutine was flavorless other than grease. We didn't wait long at all for a table, as it was not busy, but our food did take very long to come. Tried to leave a review using the link on the menu, but the link did not connect. I emailed the manager because I heard other people in the restaurant with similar complaints, but never heard any response. There are many better options downtown, and at the busy strip near the hospital in Exeter. read more

Apparently this place just opened up and it looks great. 3 levels, 2 bars, 3 patios... just an awesome set up. Great drinks, the burger was delicious I tried the poblano burger and it was super tasty. My lobstah roll was also very good, the fries are a little skimpy. My husband and I both have had their beers before we even realized they opened a restaurant in Exeter. We were in town for some early Christmas shopping when hunger struck. We asked for a table for two and were seated promptly. I did ask did a water to start and the water quality was... off. Maybe it was water from a well, either way I couldn't stand drinking the rest of it and ordered their Harvest Martini which came with a caramel cinnamon sugar rim - it was SO good. Definitely made up for the water. My husband ordered the chili and the cauliflower brussel sprout salad and I ordered the veggie press sandwich with a side of baked mac and cheese. We both liked our food. I just wished that the pasta was cooked maybe for a minute extra because it was still firm to the bite but that is very minor. Have been here on two separate occasions. First time was amazing. We were seated upstairs, away from the live music and the food was delicious. I had the Ruben and well done French fries. My girlfriend had a salad she said was amazing. The second time was not as wonderful, sadly and we actually never ate. We got to the restaurant and the lady took our name. We were told about a 20 minute wait although we didn't see anyone else waiting. We believe part of the issue was that the upstairs was being used for trivia night. Another family came in about 5 minutes after us and they were told the restaurant was on a "kitchen hold" and they would not be able to seat anyone untilNot was lifted. After about 15 minutes this "hold" was still in place and we asked if we could just start with drinks and appetizers? They seated us but we were told it could be up to 30 minutes to get anything from the kitchen as they had three full pages of orders to clear. The food was great and I am sure it would have been but the bottleneck in the kitchen cause the need for us to leave without drinks to food. We will try again another day. read more

Had a wonderful meal on Easter evening. The town was very quiet and the water view was wonderful. The service was excellent. Cost was very reasonable. The meal was more than we had hoped for with some very unique dishes. My top endorsement is for the pork chop schnitzel. It had a great sauce and the mashed potatoes were creamy, buttery and flavorful. The weather was perfect so the outside seating overlooking the water made the experience even more special. We had fish tacos with Cesar salad, Mediterranean steak and artichoke salad, steak tips and poutine with Brussels sprouts, rack of ribs with sweet potato fries, and a mushroom pasta dish. They are great at making reservations, but not good at keeping reservations. We made a reservation for an outdoor table And they did not reserve it. It went downhill from there. Poor service and mediocre food. Seemingly hours between seeing our waitress, who never returned after the first round of drinks came! Over cooked steak tips and a soggy fish sandwich capped off this disappointing experience. read more

Went in for some drinks this weekend. Sat downstairs then decided to go upstairs. I grab my coat and forgot my pocketbook on the back of the chair. When I ask the waitress if she had seen it, she said no. I had everything in my purse. Unhappy and totally surprised that my purse was stolen. I have called several times to see if they had found my purse, only to hear that they have not found it. I've had to report this to the police Department and cancel everything and change accounts. Dosen't replace the cash I had in my purse. Disappointed that something like that would happen here. Up date on my purse. The library call me tonight and they have my purse. Come to find out the seadog has had my purse since the weekend. I have called them everyday and got the same response, no we didn't find it??? They found it and brought it to the library.. ?? Eaten there 4-5 times now. Love the building and location, and I'm not sure if it is due to staffing issues, but the food is always low quality. Chicken was dry, blackened fish was more like burned jerky. I really wanted to like this restaurant but the food is always over cooked, bland or lacking. Service also very slow. Every year we look forward to a meal at the Sea Dog in Topsham Maine. This is the first year we were disappointed. The balsamic reduction was too sweet to complement the calamari. the delicious former red pepper aoli was not available.My salad did not have spinach with the greens, the blueberries were canned and the goat ran through leaving a scant portion of cheese. We had a nice lunch at the Sea Dog. I had the crab sandwich and it was terrific. The sweet potato fries were the best! My wife had the cauliflower buffalo wrap and she really liked that as well. The $5 Bloody Mary was good too. Decor was very pleasing. We sat in the upstairs area at a high top table in a very nice setting. Could smell garbage and cigarette smoke from the other side of the fence though. Not sure if that's their property or not but if so, something needs to change there. I had a great meal here. The pork chop schnitzel had a great sauce and the mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful. My wife and I shared some chips to start the meal and they were also good. The pepper aioli has great flavor, a bit runny but still tasted good. We also enjoyed the dessert, house made carrot cake. So why only four stars? Because it's a brew pub that also serve Bud light. I couldn't believe it when the table next to ours ordered four of them. It's anathema to me. Like putting tin foil in the microwave or lending your best friend money. It's such a weak thing that I was stunned. It's like they don't have enough confidence in their beer. I mean if you had a burger joint you wouldn't also sell Big Macs.
