I went through some sh*t in the last year and decided to head up to Vashon for a break. After a lot of work, I wanted a tattoo to mark the big change in my life (a sea change, if you will) with a tattoo of my family crest which includes the inspirational phrase, I Live in Hope. I saw a number of people around town with great pieces and each time I asked where they got them, they mentioned Sea Change. Casey was amazing from start to finish. A truly great hearted guy. As it was my first time, he talked me through the process and answered all my questions with no attitude. I showed him a couple of the versions of the badge and he composited them to capture the best elements. He asked me what music I liked and put on Spotify. The tattooing took just under and hour and we talked about life and tattoos and girls and heartbreak and resilience--the pain was minimal. In my opinion, if you're gonna get permanently marked you want the person doing it to be a generous soul. Casey is that guy. The tattoo is beautiful with nice crisp lines and detail--I've had many compliments. I couldn't be happier. I look at it every day and remind myself to live in hope. And given how great the experience was, the price was extremely good (much less than here in LA). If you'e a first timer I highly recommend you hit Casey up.

My amazing tattoo done by Casey Buxton.

It was so amazing and I was so impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted in a very nice way, my needs were heard and respected, and, oh my, what a selection of different jewelry they have to pick from, very impressive! Adam did my ear piercing and listened to where I wanted the new piercing and Adam double checked before we proceeded with the piercing. But what most impressed me was how he prioritized Sanitation. I think he must have changed his gloves four times after he touched every item needed for the process. He explained aftercare very well. Checkout was wonderful too, they made sure that I knew how to contact them at any time if I had any other questions or concerns after the fact. Oh, and they made sure I knew what the end cost would be even before the actual piercing so there are no surprises at checkout.

I am beyond furious with the way Pierced Hearts handled my sister's navel piercing. From the start,…read morethis experience has been a disaster due to sheer negligence and a complete lack of accountability. My sister clearly explained to the piercer, Jaime, that she has a very flat belly button and specifically asked if the standard navel jewelry would be appropriate. He confidently said yes -- and we trusted his professional judgment. That trust was completely misplaced. As time passed, the jewelry began to embed itself into her skin, which should never have happened with the right jewelry in the first place. We returned to the shop, and Adam helped change it to a floating navel piercing -- the type she should have received from day one. He apologized and even took a photo of the damage because it was obvious something had gone terribly wrong. But the damage had already been done. Within a week, she developed a severe infection -- one that urgent care later confirmed was likely due to the original jewelry creating a gaping wound that never healed properly. Despite following aftercare instructions to the letter, she ended up on two antibiotics and hydrocodone just to manage the pain. Yet when we returned to the shop a third time to request a refund and share what she was going through, the staff were incredibly dismissive and refused to take any responsibility. They immediately shifted blame, accusing her of neglecting aftercare, even though we were meticulous. No effort was made to offer a solution, express genuine concern, or show even the slightest empathy. Just said "well, do you want to get it pierced again?!" ... no! Her belly button area now is completely bruised and mangled because of this place. We will never be coming back here again. To make matters worse, the owner was outright disrespectful and condescending over the phone. When we told him that medical professionals advised removing the piercing and draining the infection, her arrogant response was, "Why would they do that?!" as if she knew better than actual doctors. That tone alone spoke volumes about how little they care once they have your money. We asked for a refund because of all the trouble we've been through after the negligence of the first piercer, now having to pay for urgent care visits and medication. I chose this shop based on their glowing reviews, but let me be clear: if you're considering any body piercing here, don't. They might be decent with ear piercings or tattoos -- but when it comes to body piercings, especially anything more complex, they are careless, unprofessional, and utterly unwilling to take accountability when something goes wrong. My sister went in for a simple piercing and walked away in physical pain and emotional distress, and not once did they offer real help, only excuses. This shop failed her. Completely.

We're no longer in touch, and after receiving many recommendations for the artists at American Pin-up, I decided it was time to see about getting it filled in. Ben was personable and friendly. He listened carefully to what I wanted and offered suggestions for shading and different color combinations. He emphasized his passion for quality art, explained his reasoning for wanting to use certain colors over others, and offered me a fair price. Ben encouraged me to look at his portfolio, along with the portfolios of other artists in the shop, and even to check out other artists in other shops before making a decision. The vibe I got from artists in other shops was that they would do it quick and cheap. Without really listening to what I wanted or allowing me to view their work, it was "Two-and-a-half hours, three hundred bucks - We can get you in on Tuesday!" Well, the tattoo practically goes from my hip to my knee, wraps half way around my thigh, and the last thing I wanted was a hurried job! Ben did beautiful work. His shading is on point, the colors are well saturated, and the combination just makes them pop! Will definitely be back for another tattoo. Come see Ben, and check out his work! He's new in town and deserves a good PNW welcome! Instagram @benhawaii

I had a piece in mind to cover up an older tattoo. Donna was amazing and recognized right away that it wasn't the right fit for that part of my body. So we talked it over and figured a piece that I liked. We made an appt for two sessions within two weeks of each other (btw she is super popular, I had to wait 5 months to get my first appt). I was very happy with the coverup part. And was even happier when the whole piece came together and was done. Donna is warm and friendly, and doesn't make things awkward! I most likely will be back for another consult when I'm ready for another piece!

Once Colin took me back to the piercing room (very clean room), he walked me through the process and explained in depth what to do and not do with a new piercing. We were greeted and tattooed by Travis, the owner at Savage Kat Tattoo Co in Auburn, WA! His professionalism and skills were absolutely outstanding. We got extremely lucky that he happened to be free due to a cancellation. The universe was truly looking out for us! He sat with us and listened to everything we liked, wanted and hoped for. Designed multiple options for us and modified our chosen designs until they were everything we could dream of. The designs were perfectly matching for the both of us while being tailored uniquely for our own preferences and placements. This was also my husband's first tattoo! I'm so thankful we had such a lovely experience with a tremendous artist who showed my husband everything that a tattoo appointment and experience truly should be. Travis was so great in offering advice on placement according to anatomy and future tattoo plans to ensure a perfectly done tattoo. He made sure he got our approval on everything every step of the way and clarified spelling multiple times throughout the process to guarantee no chance of mistakes or misspelling. This was a small but extremely notable thing for us and really showed how involved and invested Travis is in both his art and his clients. After each of our completed tattoos, he was kind enough to take a video and photos of our tattoos and send them to us. This was so nice. We could immediately show off to friends and family - and in way better lighting and angles then we'd have been able to get ourselves! While there, I also decided to purchase a high quality nose jewelry that Toxic, a tattoo/piercer at the shop, was even willing to put in for me. We cannot recommend them enough, Travis and the whole Savage Kat Tattoo Co team, for all of your tattoo and piercing needs! This place is high quality only. We will be visiting again!!!! Thank you!!!!!!

I've had a tattoo of an infinity sign for over 7 years that was hideous to look at and I had to wear thick watches everyday to cover it up. I was terrified I wouldn't be able to find someone who would be able to create something so feminine with no traces of the thick black lines left behind. Walking in I was immediately put at ease with the clean and chill atmosphere of this shop. After a consultation with Jen I was super excited to see what floral coverup she would design for me. She assured me she would be able to cover up the hot mess on my arm! After spending a little over 4 hours in her chair, I can tell you she is the most talented, hilarious, artistic goddess! She is so light handed and several times I wanted to burst into tears, not from pain, but simply at the beauty unfolding on my wrist. I'm so happy that I have a piece of art on my forearm and no longer have to look at my crumby mistake from my teenage years. I didn't think it was possible to feel so emotionally charged from being tattooed, but I guess that's just the power Jen has; to make you feel comfortable, beautiful, and like a living piece of art! If you have the opportunity to get tattooed by Jen, don't hesitate because she's is simply the best.

He's not just a skilled tattooer -- he's an artist and professional in the truest sense. His ability to translate an idea into something that feels both deeply personal and beautifully cohesive is unreal. He recently completed a full torso panel of my German shepherd, Stryder, in an Irezumi-inspired style, as well as two custom hand pieces -- and every step of the process was collaborative, thoughtful, and executed with precision. What I appreciate most is Tim's mix of humility, humor, and quiet confidence. He listens, gives honest feedback, and works with a level of care that shows in every line and aspect of the piece. The end result isn't just cool ink -- it's art that carries weight, intention, and soul. After nearly a decade with STTN, I can say this has been one of my best experiences yet. If you're looking for someone who genuinely gives a damn about both the craft and the client, Tim's your guy.

THANK YOU DENISE…read more From start to finish the progression of getting my tattoo was phenomenal. Due to not really being from this area I was referred to see Denise by a friend. Instagram is a beautiful thing. Lol As soon as I saw her style and quality of work, I had to make an appointment. I messaged her through Instagram and she told me to call in to schedule a consultation. I spoke with the friendly receptionist and I had a consult scheduled easily within the next few days. Due to covid I was really hesitant of going anywhere since this virus is literally taking over the world lol. But anyways I went in and met Denise. She was very efficient and personable. We talked about what I wanted and she was excited to come up with ideas. Which I knew no matter what it'd turn out dope. Due to my hectic schedule and hers as well we found a date that worked. She requires a $60 deposit that will go towards your tattoo. Definitely understandable just in case I was a flake. Our tattoo artists time is precious. Especially if we are having them sketch an original piece just for you. When I arrived for my actual appointment, I came in 15min early. Just so I could give courtesy to Denise and of course paperwork. I was so excited when she showed me what she drew up. She listened to everything I f*cking wanted. Ayyyyyeeeeee! Finally a tattoo artist I felt 100% confident in. Denise was very thoughtful of placement and what looked good on me. I've had tattoos done from a few different artists around the world and I'll say Denise was the best one I've Eva had. :P AHUUUAHHHH! I'm not even trying to front for this review. I'm just stating facts. The ambiance of the facility was the cherry on top. It was cleanly, modern, and just well thought out. I felt comfortable taking off my mask and relaxing while Denise did her thang. Her playlist was pretty fiya too. I wish I could add emojis to this but just know I was vibing. I'm sure you know this by now but I was satisfied with the outcome of my tattoo. I love it! Thank you again girrrrl. She charges an hourly rate that'd you have to ask her about but when I was finished she charged me $199. I was surprised, I was expecting to pay maybe like $250-300. Whatever the case It's worth every cent. Anyways, Thank you and I can't wait to see you again Denise. :]
