I've had two custom tattoos that Keir and I designed together, and I'm currently finishing an arm sleeve with him. Every step has been collaborative, thoughtful, and creative. I already plan to get more work done after the sleeve by him because the experience and results have been outstanding every single time. The shop itself is just as impressive. Homeport Tattoo has a welcoming atmosphere that's bright, open, and immaculately clean, which makes a huge difference when you're spending hours in the chair. Tony, the other artist, is always super friendly with a big smile, and together they create an environment where you genuinely feel welcome the moment you walk in. One thing I really appreciate about Keir is his integrity as an artist--he's honest and will recommend other artists if he feels they might be a better fit for the style you're looking for. That level of professionalism and care speaks volumes. If you're looking for exceptional artistry, a comfortable experience, and a shop that truly values its clients, Homeport Tattoo--and especially Keir--is the place to go. Highly, highly recommend. I get stuff happens but it's really unprofessional and annoying on my end because I bring people to you expecting to get their work done, not played and pushed to the right when your booking is already spread out. I watch you post work all the time that gets started and finished in a sitting and we can't even get our work finished when we have appointments set. I'd really appreciate if we can get our work done." That was my message to the artist and this was his reply good morning emani! to be honest there is a very confusing point and actually insulting matter to your last message. Not sure if you had a reschedule miscommunication with Brianna, but you were scheduled for next month(Sept). soooo I assume thats the appointment you're referring too. Brianna was rescheduled from last week to today, not you just to clarify. also, I understand your inconvenience, with rescheduling several times and how it can be "fucked" when things aren't in your control, all I can really do is apologize for any unexpected scheduling adjustments. I really try and keep in contact with clients as much as possible and keep them updated so they aren't left in the dark with what happened with their appointments in hopes they are truly understanding of the matter at hand. I appreciate your sense of getting "stuff happens" because yea shit does happen and always working 7 days a week tattooing AND running the business end on end of the studio by myself is all I do, so when the schedule gets thrown off or shit happens for whatever reason personal or business? the days I have to reschedule clients is really not an option for me, and try and comp you guys the best I can. I dont expect you to fully understand cuz this clearly isn't your business. but trust me when I say I try and do everything I can to keep my clients happy. sometimes that still isn't good enough for some, and thats ok. Unfortunately though when there is a client and I that don't really see eye, the best thing is to just part ways of our business together, plus clientele sending me childish condescending, passive aggressive messages on social outlets at 6am the day of the appointment, and still expecting me to tattoo them comfortably after that is just fuckin crazy. instead of just approaching the sitatution like an adult is completely uncalled for, and dont need cliental like that, sorry. So I will be canceling any future appointments with young have the front counter contact you in the next day or two in regards of issuing you a deposit refund for your inconvenience. I will propose an option to Brianna as in what she would like to do with her appointments when she arrives. thank you again for your time and business Emani. Best of luck to you Three times I've had appointments with you where we showed up and you were not there at all. Once with Breanna, last week with Brianna, And once for myself. That's what I'm referring to and I was completely understanding with that. Also, the one time you tripled booked for me. You have a personal life and I understand that like I said stuff happens. Which is why my ratings on your service is still amazing and I continue to refer people to you. Where it gets frustrating is when we're trying to figure things out and can't get a reply. If you think it's childish to mention what was messed up to try to get a push on getting work finished that's fine. But in no way was I rude. I can see you thinking it's rude that I said "fucked" but that's my in my vocabulary and was not intended to be rude. She didn't get a reply so no one expected there to be an appointment today. Also the timing of my message was simply because I sent it before work. I had no expectation for you to be up at that time or reply as I know often times it takes days sometimes for you to even see it. But best of luck to you as well. An artist that will leave a customer unfinished because he can't accept that fact I called him out for his many mistakes is trash. I don't know if it's because we are black but he defiantly fucked me over multiple times. He never replied to my friend he left her on read but claims there was an appointment. He may be good on this side of the water but I'd rather take a trip to Seattle for someone to not show up to appointment and not finish work.

I'm posting to warn others that SMITTY does hire underlings that have problems, and I assume he does this on purpose to give these people a chance, people that others would never hire. I went to Smittys to get an extremely simple tattoo, two words bordering my collarbone in Greek. These words were inspired by Victor Hugo's preface in The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. Smitty was busy so I was turned over to a different artist. She took issue with me right away, was condescending and claimed I was incorrect and that The Hunchback is a French book. I agreed that it is indeed a French book but in the preface Victor Hugo explains that the Hunchback carves in Greek in the bell tower. She continues to be skeptical and rude and raises her voice at me. This is a bizarre experience for me. I am in the middle of cancer treatment and getting the words "fate" and "need" tattooed on me as a last resort, a kind of hope for me. This tattoo artist is like a tick in my arm, such a minuscule setback. Eventually Smitty himself has to come over and clarify that the Hunchback had a classical Jesuit education and therefore would have been educated in Greek. She looks down and says "I never read the preface anyway." Well La-de-da, glad to know. The whole experience was degrading. She put the print on my body crooked and I asked her to fix it and she got upset with me. She still tattooed it on me crooked! She quizzed me on book knowledge the entire time. She charged me $150!!!! Pretty sure she added that last $50 out of spite. I tried to end on a good note and offered to lend her a rare Hungarian book my Laszlo Krasznahorkai. She laughed in my face and said she "probably already had it," as I was leaving she was still laughing at me. I was warned by another person at Smittys BEFORE I got the tattoo that she has a reputation for not getting along with people, but I am Buddhist so I figured I can handle it, but tattooing purposefully crooked is wrong, utterly wrong.

I wanted to get a henna-inspired tattoo for my 31st birthday, and I quickly found that getting an artist in the area to work with me was not an easy feat. I was turned down twice before I came across Tattoo Technique (it was explained to me that a lot of artists are intimidated to do this style). Will, however, was very open and welcoming when I walked into his shop and showed him a variety of photos that I was really drawn toward, and he discussed what his ideas were that he would love to incorporate. I didn't have any set final product in my head, so anything that he could come up with that would mesh elements of what I was explaining to him had a high probability of exciting me. I gave him a $40 dollar cash deposit that day and he got to work on a sketch for me. A day or so later I checked in with him about what he came up with, and I thought his design was stunning. I came in and got the job done with him a day or so later. We conversed tons during the visit, and I appreciated his attitude and care during the visit. He properly sanitized myself and the needles, and I overall enjoyed the vibe of the shop. By the time I left, I felt like I had not only gained a fabulous tattoo that I couldn't be more pleased with, but also a new friend. Couldn't have asked for a better dude.
