EDIT*** as of 4/19, we have been refunded a deposit and our artist has been in contact with us to let us know that she was out of town. My major source of dissatisfaction was being unable to simply reschedule the appointment, but I am amending this review on the basis that she did do her best to make the situation right in the end. my friend and i tried going here to get matching tattoos on 3/26, we were required to send two deposits as "appointment holders" a week in advance through venmo. i woke up at 4am on the 26th with food poisoning and tried to reschedule, our artist said we could reschedule and keep one of the deposits. we tried rescheduling, but she left both of us on delivered and has kept the money. Tattooing is all about good service and word of mouth, which is why i wanted to try this spot in the first place. it has been 3 weeks since we've heard from her. I did NOT want to cancel my appointment, i wanted to go 2 days later so I wouldn't get her sick (because i could've done that for free). read more

I got a last minute booking with Crystela and she was amazing! She took her time with the placement which I really appreciate and she made sure I was comfortable. I was really picky with who I wanted my tattoo artist to be and I saw she'd done Sanrio tattoos before so I knew I wanted her as my artist. From the friendly welcome I received at walk-in to the kind consultation from the artist who wasn't even going to do my tattoo but stuck around on his DAY OFF to consult and help me schedule to Pedro, my artist, who fit me in for the following day. Pedro listened carefully and patiently to what I was looking for, took the extra time to get to know me so he could truly incorporate my thoughts into his original design, and made me super comfortable throughout the entire process. I saw David for a tattoo on my calf. Not only was he kind and professional, but he did an absolutely phenomenal job. I first want to point out that this review has nothing to do with the shop and is ONLY about David Baisa because my experience with him was awful. On the morning of my appt, he said he was feeling under the weather and told me he MIGHT need to cancel. I kept open communication with him about needing to reschedule if he was too sick, but he would reply with "I'm gonna take some medicine and see how I feel in an hour". This went on for several hours. The time of my appt rolls around and he says he's still feeling a little sick, but he did NOT cancel. I asked if I could check in on him after 1-2 hours. When I did, he didn't respond to my texts or calls-- he had fallen asleep. Only after he woke did he cancel, which was way after my appt was scheduled and I had waited all day to get a definitive response. From there, he tried to last minute reschedule me multiple times even though I had expressed that I needed more notice because of work. Finally, he found a day he was free and I immediately responded saying I could make it work, but I needed to know the time. He didn't respond. As the appointment was coming around, I kept texting to confirm. Still no response. The day before the appt, I sent one final text trying to confirm the appt and got nothing. I then decided to request my deposit back because of how unprofessional he was being. He had the audacity to venmo me back immediately and not return a single text message. Please keep in mind that from the moment I first emailed inquiring about the tattoo to the day I requested my deposit back, 4 months had passed. 4 months I could have spent looking for a new artist. He completely wasted my time and didn't even have the decency to apologize or be honest and say he didn't want to tattoo me. I hope to god no other client ever experiences what I did with David, because it was incredibly disheartening and disrespectful. From the beginning, I mentioned that I would be okay with him not accepting my tattoo, I just needed to know. The fact that he led me on, told me he would it, and then completely bailed without notice still aggravates me to do this day. David, please do better. read more

Edit: I finally got ahold of Renmel after a month or so. I did decide to finish the piece with him because I really hate to have another artist finish this far into it. And after all the quality of his work was never in question , just business practices. Anyway, overall I am happy with the finished product. Would I recommend him to others? So I should have posted this review sooner but have been quite busy since my visit to The Needle Lounge. I came into the shop in July and explained to David what I wanted. He worked with me on a design based on discussions and other examples I provided to him. David did some quick drawings and after some adjustments he began working on my new tattoo. What was amazing to me was the level of detail and the steady hand that David had. The shop was clean and David made me feel comfortable during my visit. I'm so happy my husband found this gem of a place! it's also a plus that it's conveniently located near the town center (in case you're hungry.) I went in with my husband and friends because they wanted to get tattoos and I wasn't planning on getting any but let's just say that I left with two new tats, lol. Renmel and his wife were so kind and welcoming and I appreciate that and the fact that he takes his time on his clients. He also made sure we were happy with what we had chosen to get before starting and understood if we wanted to change or add something. Went here with my boyfriend maybe a month ago to get his first tattoo. David, was really nice and was doing all he could to help my boyfriend make sure he liked his tattoo.
