Fantastic staff, food and music…read more I had the chicken, maple bacon and avocado salad while at Burger Urge. This salad was absolutely Devine !! So much flavour and so filling. The staff were super friendly and enjoyed making sure that everyone was happy. Venue was very clean and well laid out. We started talking about how we taught swing dancing so for our whole meal - we had swing music playing on the shop speakers. Made our meal even more enjoyable

They are of course only trying to get you hooked on their burgers (not heroin), a theme followed up on with their edgy menu categories ('Beef Injection', 'Lamb-phetamine', 'Green Out') and decor, with the shop's interior designed to look like a back-alley where one might go for a 'fix'. The hype aside, it's all about the burgers at the end of the day, and theirs are good, if not great. As a spice lover, I tried 'The Red Hot Chilli Pepper', thinking with all their tough talk, they may do a genuinely hot chilli sauce. The results weren't as impressive as I hoped, with the spice levels being commonly middle-of-the-road. In their defence, the portions are pretty epic and I like their sweet potato fries for a change-up from the norm. The prices are pretty standard for a gourmet burger joint ($10 +) and on occasions I've seen a guy out front with a microphone on a weekend spruiking a 2-for-1 special.

The menu is delightful small but they don't allow any substitutions which I think is poor customer…read moreservice. (I am fructose intolerant so was wanting to swap their special sauce for plain mayo) I had a double cheese burger which had loads of cheese and the sauce was not overlying prominent. Chips were chunky and not greasy at all. They have a couple of decent beers on tap which was an unexpected bonus

The first time I visited The Bleachers, it was on a Saturday night a couple of drinks in, and I had…read morewhat stands out as the best chicken burger I have ever had in my life, if not the all time greatest burger of any kind. A crispy fried chicken "patty" in a sweet American-style bun, and it changed my life. I started a burger club, I dreamt of this burger, I recommended it to all of my friends. It was the holy grail of burgers... but did I have my beer goggles on? The second time I visited, it was a Tuesday lunch date with a girlfriend, and I have to say I felt like I had met my favourite celebrity in real life and my illusion was shattered. It was a great burger, don't get me wrong, but the earth-shattering awesomeness was definitely muted. I was dismayed. Still, a one-all result prompts a tie-breaker, so a third visit was required. You have to give a place the benefit of the doubt, especially on a Tuesday. The third visit, the decider... after a long walk, I managed to talk the other half into abandoning our sad salad plans for a burger, and with a Burger+Chips+Beer for $20 meal deal ($16 during the week), it was easy to do. I also wanted to try the soft serve: Espresso on this occasion (I was hoping for Miso Sesame but they change each week). The burger special was The Reuben, and my gosh, it did not disappoint. Layers of pastrami, pickle, cheese, and all the right things in a brioche bun with a side of crispy chips and a schooner of Stone & Wood. The soft serve was A+, and a generous serve for $5. Yes. Redemption.
