Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? The service and atmosphere at this Grill'd are both perfectly fine, and they've got a good deal of real estate to work with. The burgers are made fresh to order, so you can expect to wait a good ten minutes as I did for my standard Grill'd Burger. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $12.00 AUD for a Grill'd Burger was a reasonable price point, and this burger was of good size. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Everything about my Grill'd Burger was just okay. For starters, while the patty had some good flavor to it it was far too small especially compared to the oversized bun. From there, the peripherals were unique enough to keep it interesting, but made the patty seem like a supporting act as opposed to the star of the show. Single Star. I like their overall presentation of both the place and the food, plus they give you an "emergency knife" for those who have hard time managing their burger... I had the Moroccan Lamb burger, which was better than one of their beef burgers that I had some time ago, and their fries were pretty good as usual. Boris had a beef burger, which looked pretty good, especially with the panini bread, rather than the traditional. Though the patties were still the "Australian burger patties" that come in "pattie-cutter" form and resemble meatloaf, the burger combinations of Grill'd's burgers still better than a lot of places that I've tried. The service was pretty good although she didn't notice I didn't eat the buns from my burger which is something of concern for staff members to make sure their customers experience is a good one. And why not? these burgers are possibly the largest, most filling, & arguably most succulent burgers in town. Getta Burger is all about big flavours & insanely big burgers. There's no "gourmet" fancy scshhmancy pants here, just in your face, lets-get-messy, you're-going-to-cop-the-fat, but-be-back-for-more juicy goodness. Getta burger grinds & smokes their own meat, & make all their special sauces. The menu is uncomplicated, ranging from pulled pork, beef brisket, regular beef pattys, and nothing is over $15. They all sound so tantalising too, that you may just frustrate the counter staff with your indecisiveness. We ended up going with the: (1) "Getta Boss" ($14) - 12 hour smoked beef brisket, crispy bacon, double cheese, pickle, jalapenos & "That BBQ Sauce". (2) "Getta Beef Brisket" ($11), 12 hour smoked beef brisket, slaw, pickle, "That BBQ Sauce", & cheese. These babies are Monstrous! Basically, you can cut the burgers in half, & save some the next morning for lunch. Both burgers seem to have the right balance of flavours, moisture and texture, and hits all the right spots. We also ordered fries but it was the seasoning of their "own smoked salt dust" that stood out. Not sure how they've come up with that seasoning, but we were licking it off our fingers. Getta Burger is probably more suited to take-away rather than eating-in, as the space is limited & there's probably not enough seating to accommodate the hordes of burger lovers flocking to this part of town. DUN DUN! nooooooo they don't have to be. Grill'd is a unique spin on a food that has always gotten a bad rap, their burgers are fresh, wholesome and bursting with ingredients. (I'm not kidding, they use skewers to keep the burgers together.) I love the range as well, I usually order the Zen Hen on a gluten free bun and a side of chips to share. Most people also agree that Grill'd has amazing decor (an American industrial meets Retro kinda vibe.) The staff are friendly and super accommodating (They also don't judge when you ask for cutlery to help demolish your burger.) And with 10 location's just in Brisbane, you have no excuse not to go!

Ambience of the place is casual order at the counter then go to the table and wait for it to be called. The drinks were decently priced. Not much in terms of service it is a casual vibe ordering at the counter not table service. James street however is a great place to walk around during the day to see the shops. At night it is a great place to have drinks with friends. So either of those occasions having a casual place to grab a quick bite is handy. But the food is nothing compared to the higher end restaurants neighboring it.

The burger was HUGE! It was tasty as well but got a bit messy. I think the egg was a bit too much for me. The highlight was definitely the beetroot. I have fallen in love with beetroot since coming to Australia. The buns were fine but didn't stand out like the Beastie ones. The hot chips had a Grill'd herb mix which was pretty tasty. It's nice to add garlic and salt to the chips. Since there were so many burgers to choose from, I would like to go back to Grill'd and try out a chicken burger. It's been super fun trying out all the burger joints in town and if anyone knows a secret burger joint I must try- let me know!

We both had a caramel popcorn milkshake and that was worth it as well. The place has been set up really well in a trendy way with a graffiti feature wall which took my fancy. It is a nice little local place and was definitely worth a visit. Nundah is just horrendous for street parking that's the only thing.
