Delicious dinner at Scutra! I ordered the Caesar salad, Mussels (garlic white wine), and Fries. Others at the table ordered the flank steak and short rib ragu - all delicious. I went on a Friday night after the holiday and it was lively but tame. Everyone on the restaurant looked like they were having a great time. The food tasted fresh - so many great options on the menu it was hard to choose! Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive to our table. Great ambiance for a cozy dinner as a couple or a group of friends. There is also a bar that you can eat at to

Scutra is in an unassuming location in Arlington on a main road near some other businesses. Once you step inside, you'll notice a classy but comfortable atmosphere. The staff are attentive and funny as well. Scutra's menu really impressed me with a broad cuisine consisting of italian pastas, steaks, seafood, and more. I honestly wished I could sample each entree! We started with the fried avocado hearts as an appetizer, which were wonderful and in a nice thick sauce too. We also ordered the lobster avocado tacos which were sublime. Then it was time for the main course, grilled medium rare maple hanger steak, cheddar mashed potatoes, and bacon wrapped haricot vert (green beans). It was bursting with flavor and the sauce was wonderful (maple anything will please me haha) and I got to try someone's rainbow trout with stuffing (including shrimp) which I also really enjoyed. Scutra comes highly recommended for repeat visits to try their diverse menu items, which I hope to do in the future!

Excellent food and drink, charming atmosphere and kind staff. Everything came out very quickly and our bartender Brian was able to answer all our questions. I think the bar is great for a first date as the dining areas are a bit noisy for me. We stopped by before heading to a show at the nearby Arlington Friends Theater. I don't think you can go wrong with this menu! My guest and I shared dinner tapas-style and got bread service (not complementary), the artichokes and zucchini blossoms appetizers. I sipped a perfect red sangria, he had the Run Rummer and a mojito that he was blown away by. We were very satisfied and found everything reasonably priced for the quality. This place definitely lives up to its name for European dining.

Ended up at Scutra this weekend, as it was close to an event we went to. The service, drinks, and restaurant in general was incredible. That said, the food was absolutely next level. I went with a party of 4, and was able to try everyone's appetizers, entrees, and desserts and ever single one was unreal. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

We had such a great dinner on a Friday night at Scutra! The service was incredible, our server told us about the restaurant and how its family owned, has a changing menu for seasonality and about their outdoor patio for when it gets nice out. The drinks were great (Festivus Marg and Amaretto Sour) and the food was even better! We ordered the Poke Nachos for an appetizer and the presentation was so beautiful. Our entrees were huge and delicious. The Homemade Rigatoni Bolognese had such a tasty sauce and perfect texture pasta. The Duo of Filet Wrapped in Bacon was cooked to perfection. We can't wait to come back and try more!

Came here to have dinner with family, had a lovely time. We each ordered an entree and shared two desserts. Everything was very delicious. The short ribs were so soft and tender. Definitely recommend them! We were all soo full after. We got bread for the table which was great as well. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Had a great time, thanks!

The bar

Scutra's menu is great, and the food is amazing, but the people are what make it one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Everyone that works at Scutre wants you to have the best dining experience you've ever had. We've been there a few times now, and the food is always fantastic. We've make sure to sit at the bar, because Louie, the bartender, treats us like family.... No, not like family, because I know my family. He treats us like the most important people he's ever met. I never leave Yelp reviews, but I felt like I had to, because everything about this place is so incredible.

Ask the Community - Scutra Restaurant

I have a shellfish allergy, how do they deal with it?

It shouldn't be a problem. Maybe call ahead and speak with the chef, Didier and ask if he can accommodate.

I've also never had anyone tell us they do not like the restaurant once they try our recommendation. It's a small, cozy, dimly lit restaurant located at a corner near MGH. Street parking may be tough but there are garages around. The hospital garage may be a bit pricey; I believe the restaurant can validate for another garage nearby. Our must order items from the menu include seared foie gras (5/5), duck magret a l'Orange (5/5), escargot (5/5), french onion soup (5/5, and steak tartare (4/5). I love using their bread to dip with the escargot and eat with the foie gras as they do not come with carbs. During my last visit, I tried the boneless short ribs Bourguignon, I felt like it was a bit dry. I loved the potato croquette that came with the dish though, creamy on the inside with a crispy exterior. The meat did not fall off and melt, maybe it was just that one day. I will stick to ordering duck as my entree as it has never failed us and the cook and flavors are also supreme. Creme brulee is always great to end the meal! Service is alway is great, every server we've had were always attentive. We were given free champagne one year when we told them it was our anniversary too! Definitely a restaurant I will always recommend and visit every now and then.

Probably highlight of the meal 2. French Onion Soup. 1/5. Not good at all. Very watered down. The broth was basically lightly seasoned water. Cheese topping lacked flavor. This was very disappointing for a French restaurant. 3. Mussels. 4/5. These were fresh and came with standard sauces. 4. Coq Au vin with pasta. 3/5 Came out hot but seasoning felt off and didn't quite it the mark. Service was good and it's in a cute spot. But Overall, disappointment with our food and wouldn't repeat.

We ordered online from their actual website, and the online menu was very clearly labeled and was SO thorough in explanations and checkmark boxes for variations and letting the place know about allergies and such. That is rare to find, and people with allergies always have to worry about that kind of thing, it's a whole to-do. IYKYK. If you have celiac, it may not be a great option as they have cross contamination for their pizzas. Anyways, now the grand reveal: I got a gluten free and dairy free pizza with various toppings and it was GREAT!! It's rare to find a pizza place that can fill the place of regular pizza when you have gluten & dairy allergies, but this comes close! I'm very happy with what I ordered. It is pricey, and their extras are pricey to add on. However, I don't really care as it is rare to be able to enjoy pizza for me. They also provide little gf/df marshmallow treats as a little dessert, for free. That was a nice surprise. Companies don't do stuff like this, so it goes a long way in my book! Overall, great allergy friendly pizza place, and also for regular folks who want a regular pizza. Everyone will be happy.

It's pretty small, which lends to a warm and noisy ambiance which is nice to feel a little cozier and livelier in the winter months. I have tried their late night menu but to be honest I was imbibed and my enhoyment may have been stilted because I was quite hungry! My friend got their like short-term speciality cocktail of a garlic bread martini, and it was actually good?!? I was expecting it to be repulsive but they even did that well. Even a good pub has good tea. Next the noise level was about that of Park Square station at rush hour. You had to yell to be heard, and I am not deaf. Service was decent but certainly not great. Most of us had the baked cod with lentil and fennel. You received about 2 ounces of lentils and a bit of over cooked and tasteless fennel. The fish was decent though would have been better with a solid crumb topping. Pricing is aggressive even for Brookline. I would certainly come back for a beer with friends. I would not recommend sitting down for dinner.

Service was good and it gave off a local/community vibe since the bartenders seemed to know who the regulars are. I will definitely be back! I typically don't drink cocktails at this sort of establishment, but the White Russian 2.0 has perked my interest. If the food is that great and it's only $13 for a cocktail...
