Awesome food, great service, amazing views! Natalie (our server) was very hospitable and patient

We went here on a Monday in March, not realizing that it was Spring Break for some schools, and it was unexpectedly crowded. This restaurant is located right on the boardwalk, so if you're able to find outdoor seating in the shade you were lucky. The staff seemed a little disorganized at first and we were waiting to be seated for a while. We almost didn't get outdoor seating, but we saw a group of people leaving and specifically asked the waitress if we could have that table once cleaned off. We actually didn't expect much from this touristy seafood restaurant on the John's Pass boardwalk, so we were pleasantly surprised that the food was tasty. Although, we had fried food and it's kind of hard to mess that up completely. There were 3 of us and we shared the Coconut Shrimp Appetizer. We had 2 orders of pork belly tacos and 1 order of fish and chips. They were all tasty and quite filling. I found the service and the food to be average. It tasted like most fried foods available by the touristy beach areas. The pork belly tacos were flavor and a nice option, but they weren't crispy and were very fatty. Yes, pork belly is fatty, but the best part of that cut is that the skin should be very crispy. I tasted the other dishes and they tasted good... average... nothing really stood out. The waterfront view is great, if you don't mind crowds of people from the boardwalk standing on the other side of the patio railing. We had excellent weather with a nice breeze and that's basically what you're paying for. read more

Our waitress was kinda rude. The food was mediocre. The restaurant is on a pier with a good view.

They were very rude to my fiancé and her friends they acted they couldn't pay the bill and came to the defense when my fiancé didn't like the cocktail they gave her and she only took a sip of it. She had simply asked to see the manager hoping they could replace the drink with a cheaper one see as the cocktail was $30 and tasted like toilet water, but the manager came up the table without her saying a word he was instantly said In a nasty voice "what's the problem "as she was saying her issue with the drink she could visibly see the bartender and waiter laughing and pointing at them as if she was in the wrong. I'm absolutely shocked at the service here we will never recommend this place to anyone! read more

The food and service was good. They have a 3% recovery fee automatically added to the bill to pay for the renovation of the first floor that was damaged in the hurricane. I would think they had insurance coverage?? read more

Our service was great; KC was attentive and great with our larger group. The food was wonderful although the coleslaw needs a spice up. (Love this and I had to add salt and pepper)! This place was very good. One of the best we've had around here. Not sure why the reviews aren't great. My kids got the boil bag and we got grouper. Our waiter Brad was good too. We sat at the bar on the water and even saw some dolphins. If you grab a map there is a 10% off coupon on it. If you plan on getting the boil don't wear a good shirt, it's messy lol read more

This place was great. We went for a late dinner and had a good time. We started with the fry flight and everyone enjoyed it. The sauces were great and fries cooked perfectly. I had a mojito and it was very good. For the main course, I had the seafood Mac and cheese. It had great flavor! We also had a side of the green beans and those were a 10/10. Our waitress was very nice. She was super helpful with the menu. We sat out on the doc while we ate and were able to see a ton of dolphins. It was a great experience. read more

First time in Sculley's & definitely not my last. Was walking around the boardwalk when we found this place. It seemed good, right by the water, had a lot of people & a huge line but worth the wait. First of, our waitress Hannah W. Was incredible, so sweet, recommended a few stuff and made our experience so much better. She went above & beyond. The food was also great, for starters we had the coconut shrimp.. 10/10 & the burger was sooo yummy! The lobster bisque was delicious never had one like this but SOO good! ( a little Spicy too so have that in mind.) we also order the chicken entree and it had incredible flavors. Overall, thanks to Hannah W. & the incredible food, we had a beautiful night & dinner! While visiting my mom over the holidays, she brought me to John's Pass to do some touristy shopping and just explore the area. We came to Sculley's seafood restaurant for a light lunch. We were seated right away on the patio near the water. The ambience was perfect but you can definitely tell this is more of a touristy spot. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. We both opted for their lunch special which included our choice of two smaller portioned entrées. We both ordered a cup of the lobster bisque, and I decided to order their Caesar salad while my mother ordered their house salad. All in all the meal was quite average - my only complaint was the frequent finding of lobster claw shells in the lobster bisque soup. Those crunchy shells were not a pleasant or expected texture. But if you're in a pinch and looking for a spot to eat, this place will do. read more

Was driving from Clearwater and found this cool place. We stopped for drinks during happy hour from 3-5pm, and my mojito was only $5. Also had crawfish and clams for $11 each, and they threw in free potatoes and corn because we bought a pound. The food was what you'd expect, but it didn't cost much. The best part was our seats. Sculley's is an excellent place to take your family for seafood - but the service is *chefs kiss*. Casey made our experience review worthy. From the beginning, he had suggestions, which we took. He had stories of the Midwest to complement our own stories of Bourbon country. We had drinks, apps, entrees, and a dessert - all at his recommendation. Each course was delicious! But Casey stole the show. He even averted a personal emergency by rallying the girls without blinking an eye. Amazing day to be in John's Pass This is one of the best places on the boardwalk. We were able to sit on their small deck situated out on the water under an umbrella and near a bunch of fans that have water spray. I saw a dolphin in the channel, birds and fish and the breeze is amazing. The food at Scullys can be 3 or 5 stars, but today was fantastic. I had the Grouper Nuggets and they were the best I have tried. Very lightly battered and 0 after taste. So good with some lemon and a bit of tarter sauce. Then we went back inside, which is still open for a water view, where they had live music for a glass of wine and some fun. If you visit try the Grouper. read more

Service was good. Mahi tacos were really good, stuffed mushrooms were good as well. I got the coconut shrimp too. It was just okay, not a ton of coconut flavor like I've had at other restaurants. What was a good surprise tho were the sides, green beans and rice. The menu says fry's and coleslaw, which I was fine with. But my kids devoured the green beans and rice. We are celebrating our 15th anniversary and staying in Madria beach. Sculleys got us in right away and gave us the most perfect table. We were on the water and faced towards the bridge. Had the best dolphin show ever. Taylor took very good care of us. We started with the calamari. It was very good. Very Lightly breaded. The dip was also good. I had the scully burger and fries. Cooked perfectly and it was delicious. Hubs had the seafood boil. He chose it mild with shrimp and scallops. There was a little mix up, but it was to my hubs advantage. The chief added sausage. We checked out Sculleys because it wasn't just the typical fried beach food. We spilt the Cajun Shrimp Pasta and each got small salads which was the perfect portion size. The Cajun shrimp was SO good!!! Our server was very friendly and took great care of us! The only downsides were that outside smelled like the docks, but the scenery was nice! You just had a natural fishy scent. Indoors was nice with the A/C pumping so I would definitely suggest enjoying inside. read more

I'm giving one star since 0 isn't an option and I hate to do this. We were there on Spring Break and it's in a prime location of views. We had a large party so we opted for first available, which meant indoor seating without a view. Since we had a large wait and I need gluten free, I'd already looked at the meal online ahead of time. That being said, I ordered a kids meal for my daughter and when they asked for her side option, a fruit cup was listed. My sister (the first child to order but had no idea a kids menu existed since they didn't provide for any of the 3 kids) asked if she could order just fruit. Server says no, it's only for kids meals. At this point, no offering of a kids menu or the options available. I had to tell my sister the options (kid is 3 just for reference so definitely not ordering an adult entree). Food comes out and is good, but we had no condiments. Had to get another person to come help us. All of our party finished their meals before my sister received her meal (an appetizer of a PRETZEL). When we asked the server, no apologies, etc. and no offering to comp the item. Had to get another person to come get us drink refills. Our server was less than friendly. At a time where people are overworked, I hate to come down so hard on service, but it's Spring Break at a tourist location. Busy is expected. Expensive meals for seafood are expected. When spending money on vacation, at a minimum - decent service should also be expected. When we return next year, we'll definitely opt for one of the other restaurants! read more

The food was okay & not great. The service was okay & not great. There was an issue with one order was forgotten which left our guest without his food while the rest of us ate. Finally we got the rest of our order. At the time of payment I reminded server about the delay & management would only agree to half off the delayed plate. A real manager would take that plate off the bill. We won't be back! read more

Holly guacamole!! This place is amazing. Loved the vibe. There are different ambiance's. Pick live music, bay view, over the bay, inside, etc. I had the boil which was amazing and the key lime pie is to die for. The servers where quick, funny and attentive. Will be a regular! read more

I had lunch here after an afternoon of paddle boarding nearby, decided to eat here on a whim. It was fairly busy, but we were seated pretty quickly, in seats overlooking the water, and our server was incredibly friendly and helpful. I had the Sunshine salad, and my friend had the buffalo chicken tacos. We were both really happy with our meals, and just as happy with the view of the water, tiki drinking boats, a few dolphin, And lots of foot traffic on dock just below us. Never saw the inside of the restaurant, but the outside had a very restaurant/bar atmosphere. read more

The service was very slow here. There wasn't a lot of people here either. The ambiance was nice although outside had a fowl smell and drove us inside to sit. We ordered drinks and it took a very long time to receive them. The waiter was complaining about being given a bunch of tables so that contributed for sure. Took a long time to place our order also. Once we finally ordered it took a long time for the food to be delivered. Once delivered there were two pasta dishes that were hot as heck. The other dishes were all cold. We had to send back the baked potato. We finally canceled the potato because we were done and full. Grouper bites should not be cold. Lobster bisque was very good and was probably the best thing we had. The pasta dishes were bland and were supposed to be spicy. read more

We had lunch here on a Tuesday. Not very busy at all. A beautiful day to look at all the boats coming and going through the channel and watching the drawbridge open and close was very cool. We sat outside on the deck up high that looked down along the dock. The bartender also acted as our waiter and seemed to be okay. A number of the items do not have pricing on the menu and are MKT or market price. I've never seen that done for drinks and cocktails though. It's a little uncomfortable to have to ask what the prices of a pina colada are when you go to a bar. I've just never seen it. Strawberry daiquiri is $11 and a semi-alco reduced margarita is $9. Most fish dishes are in the high $20 range. You just have to be sure to ask what the pricing is. The building and facilities are a little weathered naturally due to the salt air and a type of storms that are typical to the tropical areas. They are another silly restaurant that has a 3% surcharge on your bill where you are basically covering their credit card usage. I really dislike those. This is a California thing where businesses now want you to pay for the back of house and related cost. Bury that stuff in the price of the product. It's a tough spot to dislike when you're sitting on the water but it's a tourist trap and the prices reflected. We had three small mahi tacos and they were $22.45 a piece. Seems a little pricey to me but they got ya. Possibly why they're not so busy. A french fry flight was $13 for three little tiny baskets of french fries with sauce. read more
