The atmosphere was neat, but there were a lot of birds flying over us into the bar area. I'm not sure that could be helped, but maybe netting or some sort of deterrent would help that we've seen at other outdoor eating areas. You can't miss this restaurant on St John's Pass... it takes up half of the pier; literally! They have a limited breakfast menu, it is geared toward adults of drinking age, FYI. My daughter had a yogurt/ fruit parfait. It was good. However, the star of the show was my Bloody Mary draped with shrimp, king crab legs, celery, olives, pickles, candied chipotle bacon and a grilled cheese sandwich. Ok so I came from Vegas for that Bloody Mary! I like to travel for these monsters! It was $175 for the Category 5. I split it with 3 of my friends. Comes with 2 grilled cheese, bacon, 1lb of jumbo shrimp, 2 lobster tails and 2 lbs of snow crab! All of the seafood was good! The bloody was fine, nothing to write home about and the service was good! We also ordered the smoked fish dip which I really enjoyed. My son and I walked to Sculley's from the beach while we were in the area recently. We were originally going to go to a different restaurant because they had a better Yelp rating but then changed our mind and had lunch here because of the outdoor setting. It was more of the vibe we were looking for. We scanned the Yelp reviews to see what menu items were recommended by other reviewers. My son ordered the Cowboy Burger with fries and I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos with the kettle chips. My son said the burger was good but on the spicy side given it has jalapeños on it. The Mahi Mahi tacos did not disappoint. There were 3 tacos. I felt they were pretty filling as I could only eat 2 of them. My son ate the last one which he enjoyed. The kettle chips were amazing. Our server Tanya was super nice, checked on us multiple times, and let us sit there longer than I would say is normal because we were enjoying the view and good conversation. Had lunch with family during spring break. We walked up. Didn't have reservations and they sat us right away. It was before the lunch rush. We sat outside on the deck on the water. The view and breeze was great. Drinks were also good. Our waitress was friendly and funny. We did the wedge salad and seafood boils. We were a party of 4. We all had a different one and I shared with my 10yr old. We had crab legs for days. I also got the prawn. It was bigger than my hand. Lol Come hungry. OMG it was so good. Meh.. we did a cute little day trip to St, Pete's and visited Sculley's mainly to enjoy the water view and of course expecting a delicious meal. The water views are amazing, you can see plenty of water traffic, jet skis, boats, sail boats, and many pelicans/seagulls. The food was the 'meh' part of the day, i got fish tacos, the filling was 80% lettuce & the fish was def not fresh, we also got a chicken quesadilla that was okay, but was brought cold. Well they have great ambiance and seating overlooking the water but... fish tacos were not good. Tortillas were not even warmed up and fell apart immediately. We go back and forth on this restaurant as it is an excellent location, especially for dolphin watching and people watching. We are never overly excited about our meals whether it be lunch or dinner, but we always go back as this is the best option for this area. We tried brunch for the first time and ordered the country eggs Benedict and the shrimp and grits. The grits were good but the poached eggs were hard boiled and very dry and the hashbrowns were over cooked/burnt and only tasted of burnt grease. I also ordered a mimosa and it was only orange juice. We decided to have a few beers while we enjoyed the weather outside, but disappointed all beer is in cans, no draft options. You get what you expect. Great location but not amazing food. One of the best gems of Johns Pass. It has a great ambiance and beautiful waterfront views. The service has always been excellent. I do love the food here, especially if you are in the mood for a custom seafood boil. The food and drinks are super delish, and the main meals are really yummy. I wasn't the biggest fan of the appetizers we ordered; they were pretty average. It's really the ambiance and view you should come for, but the food isn't too bad either! Definitely recommend the marshmallow dip with the sweet potato fries! The blackened fish tacos are also pretty decent, a little heavy with the toppings, but still good. This place is deceptively huge, and once you go and walk around, you'll see what I mean. It's large enough to accommodate lots of people and groups larger than 2-4 people- making it a great stop for our group of 6. Service was good, not super fast but friendly. Several of us had the market fresh fish sandwiches. I ordered my sandwich with GF bun, it fell apart immediately. Not worth the up charge. Also ordered the piña colada, which unfortunately was made with a piña colada mix they're never as good as fresh made. Overall, I would choose for the location and the ability to take larger groups. I would give this place zero stars if possible. I formally apologize to the Boardwalk... you guys weren't that bad when I compare it to this dumpster fire. As a local, it is generally my rule not to eat at john's pass. I broke my own rule tonight because my husband wanted fish. That was extremely moronic of me. This place was absolutely awful. We had such a great experience at Sculley's! They were very accommodating to our large party, even without a reservation, which we really appreciated. We started with the calamari appetizer--perfectly crisp and the sauce paired with it was spot on. The Caesar salad was also fresh and tasty. For our mains, we created our own seafood boils and they did not disappoint! Each bite was packed with flavor, and the portions were very generous--we even had enough leftovers for another meal the next day. The dilute mimosa came in a jizz-slimed glass and the sad, bald bennies were presented like drenched geezers with recent lobotomies. Listen. I've had better meals in deep south gas stations. We had a beach day and decided to walk over to John's pass and eat lunch. We choose Sculley's and we are so glad we did. We were seated right away and had awesome outdoor seats overlooking the water. We started off with a pineapple mojito and strawberry margarita and they were both great. I highly recommend the pineapple mojito it was refreshing. For lunch we had the Sunshine salad and the coconut shrimp they were both delicious . We didn't realize that they just opened back up and we happy to be able to enjoy our lunch here. I ordered the fresh catch of the day. The fish was excellently cooked but the sides were disgusting. There was a pile of soggy, tasteless green beans, limp and unappetizing. I didn't want rice so got the asparagus, some of which were burnt and others appeared to be cooked properly. On the plus side, the waitress was very nice and we had a beautiful view of the water. We came by for a late bite to eat., visiting from Boston. I've been here once before a year ago. We sat down on the pier on the water, it was a beautiful night, moon out and a few boats going by. Our waitress JoJo, was very nice, very attentive, the service was great. We exchanged stories about the winters in the North East and how nice the St Pete's area was..
