We stopped in here on a whim while exploring the shops nearby and were pleasantly surprised. The view alone makes it worth a visit, but the food sealed the deal. They had a fresh catch of grouper that day, so we decided to try the grouper nuggets. They're market price, but absolutely worth it. Even our friend preferred them over his fried fish. The batter was light, crispy, and delicious. Our kids ordered the bacon cheese fries and loved them. Just a heads-up: they use a nacho cheese sauce rather than shredded cheese, which some people may prefer to know ahead of time. Our friend from Massachusetts ordered the lobster sub (also market price) and said it was worth every penny. My husband and I split the grouper nuggets and the Philly cheesesteak. The bread is brought in from up north, and our server's recommendation did not disappoint. The sandwich was rich, flavorful, and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the onion rings. They use a beer batter, which wasn't our favorite, but that's more of a personal preference than a criticism. Overall, we'd definitely return if we're in the area again. The only downside was parking--$29.99 for two hours is pretty brutal. Thankfully, the food and atmosphere helped make up for it.

Now this go around we did notice the lobster was more shredded than it was chunks which is what we've seen previously so that was a bit of a change, but overall, it was still good. We've had the onion rings before but this go round we decided to share a side of french fries and we did ask for them crispy. They were perfect. Be prepared to wait though as this location is super small and if you come during a busy season or around that lunchtime period you're most likely going to have to wait. This is not a great location for large groups. If you have more than five people in your group this is probably not the best location for you as they cannot seat more than one large group at a time. But, one thing we did notice is that you can walk up and order to go. That's a great option to have and something we may take advantage of in the future.
Take it from a born and raised Pennsylvania girl, their Philly cheese steaks were AMAZING!! Even had Amoroso Rolls!!! The onion rings were the size of a donut and delicious! One of the best Lobster rolls I've ever had! Only took about 3 years to find a place that comes close to PA's cheesesteaks, We will be back!
We did breakfast and we did dinner. Our breakfast was late and when we saw someone having a lobster roll as lunch started we decided we had to come back for it. It is an expensive lobster roll, but we opted not to do the fresh grouper that night and yet I wish one of us had because we didn't get a chance to return at least not yet. Service is wonderful and personalized The lobster roll did not disappoint and we left full. There is a row of seats at the window facing outward just for watching the dolphins in the channel jump closer to sunset time. Will be going back when we're down that way.

The place is cozy - small with limited seating but I promise you'll be greeted by a smiling server who will gladly give you advice and take your order. Go early and go often. We went with 5 people, 3 of us got the lobster rolls (totally amazing!) 1got the fried shrimp (you get sooo many!) and 1 got fried clams. Be sure to have some onion rings and some fries too!
The servers were pretty standard. Didn't smile much, just there to get your orders and fill your drinks every once in a while. The ambience is cramped due to lack of space. The Philly cheesesteak and bowl were pretty lackluster. It honestly wasn't that expensive though so you kinda pay for what you get I guess, haha. We probs won't be coming back.

It's very east coast feeling- their most popular offering is the lobster roll, and for good reason. It's gigantic and SO good. But everything we tried was really good. The Boardwalk Grill is super small, so there was a wait when we got there and I'm assuming most days there are, but wow was it worth it. Even the fried clam bites I got were so fresh and yummy. I will surely come back again for the shrimp tacos and lobster roll. What this place lacks in personality/ aesthetic it more than makes up for in what they serve!!

Grab a beer while you wait, watch for dolphins, watch the boats and jet ski's and prepared yourself for delicious food. Sit inside, sit on the boardwalk, immerse yourself in the beauty of John's Pass. It's repeatable. It's delicious. It's the best.
Right on the Johns Pass Boardwalk- this little place is a yummy stop! It is tiny but has inside and outside seating with a real beach feel. The staff work together to make sure everyone is taken care of. We just wanted a little snack so my son and I split the Boardwalk Philly Fries- these were fresh cut potato fries with a huge mound of Philly meat, nacho cheese and grilled onions- WAY yummy and WAY more than enough! Nice stop on the Boardwalk!
Service was friendly. Restaurant was clean. We ordered the fish and chips . It was enough for 2 . Grouper was the fish. The fish was not drained ( very greasy) . The grouper wasn't soft and flaky. The seasoned fries were perfectly crispy and delicious. Cole slaw was good. Wish we had got the lobster. Everything usually is great.

My friends Lauren and Kent frequently the area. I recognized it because when I was at there in-laws waterfront house and this touristy stupid pirate ship came sailing by. So when I found myself six months later back in Johns Pass looking at the same stupid pirate ship, I thought, I bet Lauren and Kent recommend a good place within walking distance since they know the area. They were completely worthless for any kind of recommendation. I asked them about this place and they had never been or even knew its name. All they could tell me about with some bar to go visit around the corner. Clearly they have their priorities. Had the fried clams and some shrimp. They were good. It's pretty hard to screw up fried stuff.... I think I should've ordered one of the sandwiches, they looked much better. Service was great. Kept my drink refilled and we were very attentive. read more

The service was good from the greeting at the door to accommodating you and placing your order. The food was good and with a fast turn around timing You can sit outside on the benches with the water lookout or inside in a high top or they have a large table in the minddle. Nothing fancy just a great location near the pier entrance. read more

The food was good and the view was wonderful. It wasn't busy when we went for dinner. You can sit inside or outside on the water and it's a small place. Service was good. The shrimp tacos were great. The fish poboy was good, but a bit too much bread/garnish to fish ratio. The Mac salad was alright, but I wouldn't get again. The onion rings were good. I thought we'd want more food, but we were both stuffed a little bit leftover. read more

The host, our server, and the busboy were all really friendly. Small interior and exterior seating along a busy boardwalk near an inlet. Grouper sandwich was tasty! Cheeseburger fries were served with a lot of cheese. It was an interesting combination. Messy, too. read more

What a hidden gem on John's Pass BOARDWALK ... the BOARDWALK GRILL ... on Maderia Beach. Our friends from PHILLY took us for authentic PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS ... and they were awesome. Using the AMOROSA ROLLS ... and making delicious FRESH CUT FRENCH FRIES & onion rings to die for. I also tried the FRESH GROUPER TACOS ... DELISH. If you are looking for a casual local family owned place that has FANTASTIC food ... this is the place. Fun to walk on boardwalk , check out shops , and boats on Johns Pass. A server at another restaurant said we had to go here for the Lobster Rolls, so we made a little day trip to the boardwalk and snagged one of the 2 outside tables. The service was excellent, the people watching was fun, and the LR was my first and best! We also had the clam strips, which we equally enjoyed. We will go here again when we visit the area, and we don't often do return visits! A treat in local and quay-side cuisine. read more

This is the second time I've been here (I live in Utah) and I think it's such a great place to grab lunch or dinner after enjoying time at the beach! They have great sandwiches, salads, drinks, and more. One of my favorite things to get is the fried Oreos and fried grouper!! Yum. Service is awesome. The people that work here are extremely kind. Great small casual place right on boardwalk with great view. We had chef salad & lobster roll. The chef salad was fresh & generous. The lobster roll was 99% lobster with small amount of celery & dressing to give crunch and hold it together. The bun was lightly buttered & toasted. Service was great read more
