Do not recommend taking your dog here. Groomer shaved my dog, an OES, BARE because he could not be bothered with brushing her coat out prior to grooming and clipping a few matts out. We discussed that he wanted to cut her hair short saying her legs had to be cut short bdcause of matts. I specifically asked that he leave a little length. And just cut any matts out. His comment was that he has been grooming dogs for 10 years and that I was free to leave. (what an attitude!!!). My instinct told me to leave. I should have. My dog is shaved BARE. No hair on her legs and stomach!!! She is so itchy tonight and her skin is raw and pink. Did not clean ears or clip her nails. And charged $90!. Previous groomer only charged $50, and always left her hair fluffy and beautiful. I only tried this place because it was a lot closer to work. I have nothing good to say. Facility gets a thumbs down, too. read more

Went in for a nail grind last! They were fast and it was only $10, so much cheaper than petsmart! My dog is a little weary during nail grinds so the fact that he was so fast and efficient means we'll be coming back! read more

The folks here do a great job with my dog. I love the set up: the dogs get to run around and play while waiting for their bath or waiting to be picked up. I've been here a few times and there's always an opening and great communication as to when my dog will be finished. read more

I took my dog in today for a bath. I was able to make a same day appointment without an problem. When I arrived, the place was clean and the staff was friendly. I picked my dog up about an hour and a half later. He was clean, smelled good, and very fluffy (he is a standard poodle). They did an excellent job. read more

Scrub a Dub Dog Wash has got to be one of the BEST dog grooming service establishments on the East Coast. The staff members, Vaughn & Mary Ann possess an innate love for dogs which provides a sense of home for their clients & family members. My initial consult over the telephone with Vaughn was very informative, unrushed and most assuring that I would receive exactly what I desired for Lil Girl. When I dropped Lil Girl off for her appointment, I was greeted by every staff member & I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the facility (not the traditional wet dog smell I've smelled at other dog grooming businesses), the calm I noticed on the dogs receiving grooming services at the time & the playfulness of the dogs running around loosely. ( They also asked if Lil Girl got along with other dogs. Great customer service‼) Before leaving I explained my reluctance in trying a new dog groomer because of prior disappointing experiences. At that point, Mary Ann consoled me & took time to explain which approach she would use with Lil Girl. I left the premises feeling a bit more comfortable and anxiously waited for my pick up call in a few hours. As promised I received a call that Lil Girl would be ready in about 30 minutes. I explained my dilemma that I was awaiting the arrival of a friend at the airport & Vaughn nonchalantly responded "No problem we close at 6 today." When I arrived there Lil Gurl was playing with another dog and greeted me with a happy wag of her tail. Her hair cut was perfect, her nails were perfectly trimmed and she smelled so good. And Mary Ann reported the experience was a good one for Lil Girl. I braced myself for the cost of all of Lil Girls services and almost fainted in disbelief of how REASONABLE the final cost was! We left Scrub A Dub Dog Wash with much gratitude for the referral we received & for our personal experience. We have found a new home for Lil Girl and highly recommend this place to any dog/puppy owner desiring an upscale friendly experience at a reasonable price. Sounds impossible but it's true. Loved this place! Made a last minute appointment and they were happy to take my doggie in. Got a simple bath and brought my own shampoo. My pup is a recent adoption and still working on his socialization skills, so i appreciated their kindness in separating him from other doggies. He was done in about 20 minutes. I went here today for the first time b/c it was recommended, and it was awsome!! The woman that greets you and your dog at the front and the owner Phil was totally cool and friendly!! The owner tells you how it is, in a good way, and makes you feel welcomed... I have a Siberian Husky and I know he's not the easiest dog to groom, but the dude phil did an awsome job!!! A1 quality 5 stars!!! In and out a little over and hour!! Scrub a dub dog will be the only place I'll be taking my dog to for now on and I have a 25 min. Ride with a Husky!!! Phil has been trimming my bullmastiff Gompers' nails for a couple of years. Gomp really doesn't like nail trims, but he loves Phil and the staff at Scrub-a-Dub. Recently Gompers had a bath, ear cleaning, and nail trim. When I picked him up, he was completely at ease, just hanging out (uncrated, free to do his thing) with Phil and his staff. He has never been cleaner. The shop itself isn't fancy pants, but that doesn't matter. These guys love animals and are very laid back, but they are experts. A great place to bathe your dogs without breaking your back in your own tub. Super clean. Nice owners. They sell everything you might forget, and also provide towels/dryers. If your lucky sometimes one of the owners/employees kids will help out with the scrubbing! GREAT LOCAL BUSINESS read more

Scrub a Dub Dog is wonderful. We have a large fluffy labradoodle and they have done an incredible job with him. He always looks so handsome (amazing hair cuts) and smells so good after his visits. Murphy also really enjoys going there, which is important to me. When I've dropped him off he always is excited to be there (and this coming from a dog who does not enjoy baths). read more

I decided to arrive a few minutes before the groomers were done with my dog, to see how they handle the animals people trust them with. I waited outside the establishment and I had a clear view through their window of one of the groomers finishing up with my dog. While I did not see the groomer causing and physical harm, I was very surprised by the way they were handling my dog. I saw her becoming physically irritated with my dog, pulling her ears back, grabbing her head to hold her still. I am not a professional animal groomer, so perhaps these are techniques that are normally taught, but I do not think that it should be done so rushed and forcefully. On more than one occasion I saw the groomer become agitated and grab my dog and say "Stop!" with a raised voice, resulting in my dog looking as if she wanted to escape. That is the number one reason why I am giving a one-star review. Because the hair cut was nicely done and the nail clippings was sub-par (some of the nails were obviously chipped), but it is not professional to use such an aggressive tone with an animal that does not belong to you. Add that with the forceful handling, pushing my dogs rear down to make her sit, grabbing her by the neck to keep her still, that is not acceptable for an animal care worker. My dog is a rescue dog, who has suffered more than I can imagine before I met her, and she does not need to be around strangers, yelling words she can't understand at her. She's a dog, she doesn't know what "Stop" means, and all she can hear is the angry tone. I watched this from outside their establishment. I could see and hear everything clearly. I do not intend on bringing my dog back to Scrub-a-Dub Dog. read more

I cannot recommend Scrub a Dub Dog highly enough -- they were GREAT. My little Terrier, Eliza, was long overdue for a bath and a haircut and they transformed her into a neatly cut, clean as a whistle pooch with perfectly trimmed nails. Eliza is a senior pup and they were particularly careful about tending to her needs, which made me feel great, especially when I picked her up and she seemed as happy as she looked. read more

I'm a pretty particular person when it comes to getting my dogs groomed. Nothing bugs me more than taking my Airedale and Welsh terriers to get groomed and picking up a couple of doodle somethings...not that there is anything wrong with that, it's just that they're not doodle somethings, they are terriers! I can say that not only do I pick up terriers, but they are beautiful, happy, and yummy smelling terriers! I've used Phil and Mary Ellen and they've both been phenomenal. I get a specific drop off time and and a pick up time so that they aren't there all day. I am also pleased to see that every dog I see there seems content and relaxed. They obviously know dogs and how to keep them chill! Love them! read more

One of the best dog groomers I have used. My dog is a Korean Jindo, similar to a Shiba Inu. These breeds have extremely thick fur with a dense undercoat, so while they only shed twice a year, when they do shed, it is the "atomic fur bomb!" Scrub a Dub Dog is one of the few groomers that will perform Furminating, and they do a great job! My little girl has white fur and extremely sensitive skin and she is always happy and gleaming white when I pick her up. The staff is very laid back and friendly, yet professional. Very cool mellow vibe in the place. When I come to pick up my girl, there are always several happy, calm, and well-behaved doggies to give me extra love.
