Not that we were out of range, or didn't have the supplies, just didn't want to do it. Guess the "no matter what" attitude disappeared.

While there is never really a positive aspect of needing to get collision work done and worrying about how bad it could look afterwards, the reason I went out of my way to drive an hour to Fairfield was because he did similar excellent work on my 2007 Corvette over 14 years ago. As soon as it happened this time (idiot teenage son of my neighbor backed into the car and was about to drive away) I immediately told the insurance company that George was the only person I wanted working on it. After calling to tell him about the accident, he said he was backed up at the moment but would be able to squeeze me in since I was a repeat customer. He also surprised me by remembering the exact details of my Corvette from all those years ago. He got the repair done very promptly and sent me progress pictures along the way so I could see how it was coming along. I was also kept in the loop with regards to him communicating to both the appraisal and insurance companies. The driver's door was what got damaged and although it would have been quicker for him to probably order a new door, he took the time to fix it knowing the car would hold its value better with all the original parts. He also managed to limit the amount of painting that was required to just the fender and half of the door by blending it. I was skeptical at first about having blended paintwork but as you can see from the pictures you can't tell the difference. Additionally, he made sure that both the color and texture of the replacement paint matched the factory paint which is something I don't believe most shops care about or even know how to do. The car hadn't been waxed or polished in some time so I was worried about getting it back with only a couple panels that were shiny and the rest, not so much. No problem thanks to George as he gave me a great deal on detailing and polishing the entire car so the whole thing looks as good as shown in the pictures. Hopefully I won't need his services again anytime soon, but I would absolutely go back again as I would highly recommend him.

I thought maybe at least rewarding them for being first will be good karma, since I have had terrible experiences with any auto shops. Despite the cost being on the higher end, I decided to stick with them. And, also learned later that they ONLY take cash which should have indicated that there's no good karma. Well, on the day I picked up the vehicle, I didn't notice until having driven home that the damage was not entirely fixed. Once I noticed that the job was incomplete, I notified them with a photo and they apologized and said they can't believe they missed it. So I brought it back, graciously, as disappointing as this was, Having to come back due to an incomplete job, but I didn't make a big deaI of it. BUT, a day later, I get a call that it was not part of the original quote/job and so they have to charge extra. However at this point, I've learned my lesson, I can't continue doing business with them, so I decided to just pick up the vehicle as is, and call it a loss. Prior to pick up, as I asked for the receipt (since I didn't get one from when I picked up the vehicle the first time) I was told the invoice will be sent to me, but I informed them that I have an invoice, it's a receipt that I needed. I was told, the invoice is the receipt. In the end, I was handed a manual receipt. From one small business to another, I hate having to do these reviews, but at this point it's an obligation. I need to inform others what my experience was like, and I hope they make better decisions.

The first word that comes to mind when reviewing this business is PROFESSIONALISM, this business…read moresays what it does then does what it says FD Motorsports is a staple of the Porsche 996 community, knows across the country and most likely everywhere else as a reputable company that makes a fantastic product at an affordable price, they pick up the phone when you call with a question and provide a solid, professional answer. There is no BS here, if your exhaust will take three weeks to ship due to demand of the product you are told that it will take three weeks; and it ships on time. When you are told that, once they receive your return core you will be refunded the core charge; it happens! I returned my core on a Monday afternoon utilizing the original box, packaging, and included UPS label and Wednesday I received an email saying that the core had been received and the core charge credited...and it was! The quality of the welds and the ceracoating of the product are highly professional, and the sound my car makes now with the Fister exhaust; it sounds like it should have sounded from the factory. Bottom line, if you are looking to upgrade the note from your Porsche and not spend thousands of dollars doing it the Fister exhaust is what you are looking for. If you are looking for an as-advertised quality product this is what you are looking for. And if you are looking to buy something created here in the United States and support a local business, this is what you are looking for!
