Took my 2002 Camaro SS here to have the y pipe re-bent for more clearance. Upon getting it back, I experienced a horrible vibration when accelerating. I called them to explain and they said "that's just how old cars feel". This is coming from one of their staff that drove it for 2 minutes. I've owned the car for years, I know how it feels. Turns out they pointed the exhaust clamp directly at the driveshaft so it was just eating away at it. I told them and they didn't care in the slightest. I have had 2 cars done "COMPLETE EXHAUST"at this place in an attempt to fraternize with the local businesses since I live in the neighborhood. However I was severely over charged both times. Went back to have tailpipes installed and they wanted to charge me over $500.00 dollars W.T.F. Not to mention there award winning personalities! I don't like or get off on slandering small businesses but when you are intentionally price gouging hard working folkes , I could care less about you. There are to many reputable muffler shops that give you a fair price for what they do, especially on muscle cars, I definitely recommend Livermore Muffler, Antioch Muffler, Minute muffler in (Oakland) they do Awesome work. Called the business at 7:50a and talked with John. He invited me to look at all the Flowmaster series he has in stock. John is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to narrowing down your selection. We agreed on installing the Super 40 series on my 2011 Tahoe. Since I will be mostly driving this with my kids, I didn't want it to be super loud. The job was done in 1.5 hours. John shared that he has been in the industry for 35 years and decided to go business for himself 28 years ago. He even showed me the original "For Lease" sign he had when he got started. After I drove over a carjack, my car was severely damaged. After all was done, fixing the exhaust was my last stop. I went by Brentwood muffler and repair to check it out, and they sent me to Oakley muffler and repair, their sister shop. I explained to them what has happened and need to see if my exhaust is damaged. The put the car on the lift and explained to me that the muffler was not damaged during the accident. I offered to pay for putting the car on the lift and they insisted that it's part of their customer service. The car did not need to be fixed at all. So, they made no money from me. Even after considering that, they still didn't charge me a dime. Good people and a great shop. If I ever need any mufflers in the future, I know where I'm going. Took two of my cars here for some exhaust work...The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and does clean work. They are on the more expensive end though. We recently moved so my regular muffler guy is a lot farther than I wanted to drive...his prices are definitely cheaper with equivalent work quality. I actually went to this place to get flowmasters put on my 91 Bronco back in 2000. I loved that they squeezed me in without an appointment despite being booked for the day. This stood out to me and I've always recommended them to others since. Today I dropped off my 88 Ford F-250 to get flowmasters put on. Even though it's been years since I been there I was still confident I'd be getting the same quality work. A few hours later my truck was making that trademark rumbling sound that flowmasters is known for. While under my truck Roberto pointed out a couple of things that he recommended be replaced. He showed me and explained to me how the parts were failing. I appreciated how he took the time to explain things to me and give me his recommendations. Wish I could give zero stars. My advice is to stay away! Took it in to get an alignment and for an exhaust noise. Charged $225. Muffler noise still there and they messed up the allignment royally. Tires were visibly pointed in opposite directions making steering dangerous and letting my ha mileage to about 65% of what it was before I took it in. Not even sure what kind of damage this caused to my drivetrain. To fix the exhaust noise they did some "welding". The weld quality was about what I'd expect from someone picking up the torch for the first time. Needless to say the noise is as bad, if not worse, than it was before. Complete waste of time and money. read more

We have been using Oakley Muffler & their sister company Brentwood Muffler & Auto for several years, but recently it seems we've had to take one vehicle after another. They have always been honest and we usually end up out of the shop for less money than we anticipated having to spend. Just this week their call made our day when we brought in a fleet truck that wouldn't go into park and we assumed needed a whole new steering column or had a bad transmission. I've taken 2 of my cars here in the past for both exhaust work and alignments, and this shop has always done amazing work and I will give them that. They are the only shop out of many that I have went to that will do alignments on my lowered cars, and they always do an awesome job with prices in the past that used to be fair. Their exhaust work is great too and their welds are always great and not rushed. As of today (June 8th 2023) I will no longer be bringing my car here for exhaust work. I don't know what exactly happened to the low prices I used to pay but today was mind blowing. For a magnaflow muffler which is listed at 115$ on magnaflows website (I was charged 175$) and a resonator delete, I expected to pay no more than 300$ as that's what I'm used to being quoted from my previous times coming here, considering labor and the piping, but boy was I wrong. Upon getting my quote today I was hit with a whopping 570$ quote for an exhaust job that took an hour. WHAT! I get that everything has gone up in price lately and parts are getting harder to find but.... come on. I felt like I was robbed. Yeah the work they did on my car today was pretty good and the welds are smooth but for 570$ I could've taken myself somewhere else for cheaper with the same result. Their sister shop that is right down the street is no better because while they were working on my car I walked down there to see what their quote would be and they said 800$, I don't know about you guys but that's a little ridiculous. Javier and his crew are some of the best in the business. I came in very early because they said they could do my trucks exhaust without an appointment. As soon as they opened he met me at my truck and pulled it right in. Took my single out Silverado exhaust to dual with chrome rolled tips and a Flowmaster 40 series. I was on the fence between the 40 and 10 series so the mechanic took each muffler and held it to my trucks cut exhaust underneath with pipe out the back to hear difference. I called several different shops only to find that of course they had the best price. Javier has done several of my other cars and each job has been awesome. Clean welds and pipes lined up evenly. They treat each car like it's theirs so you won't be disappointed. Took 20 minutes just making sure my exhaust was even... true attention to detail. Went to these guys for years for my projects. Recently came by for something small but turned into a bigger issue afterwards. They didn't disconnect my battery when welding and now my ecu is fried and car is in limp mode. Spent $500 on sensors that didn't need replacing and another $500 or more for a new ecu and key.
