I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review of Scott! He just fixed my washer and once again, he was able to diagnose and address the problem in no time. He even went to the trouble to purchase an extra part just in case the problem was different than his prediction. When he didn't need the part, he said it was no trouble to return. Scott is always reliable, always knows what the problem is and is very communicative about the work he's doing. Super nice guy too. I've been using him for a few years now and hope he stays in business forever! Thanks again, Scott! read more

I always wonder if good Yelp reviews are written by friends but I found Scott on Yelp and was in desperate need of a washing machine doctor. I took the chance and I'm glad I did. He was awesome - arrived when he said he would - knew what he was doing - fixed it up in 1/2 hour or so and the price was like half of what I paid the last time my machine broke. Scott is professional, fair priced, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs an appliance repaired. read more

Scott was available when I needed him and came and did what he said he was going to do! I had a washer/dryer that I thought was on it's last legs! and instead of having to replace them, Scott gave them both a new life! Thanks Scott for the help! read more

Delightful guy who was able to diagnose the problem with my off-brand dryer from my description of the issue, sent me an e-mail estimate, and then arrived with just the right parts to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended. read more

Scott recently went out of his way over the holidays to help me self-diagnose trouble with my dishwasher. This advice prevented me from having a service call and was so appreciated! I worked with Scott previously on an old Hotpoint oven repair that went well, too. You can't go wrong with Scott's integrity and professionalism! read more

Scott was great! Very friendly and knowledgable. The price was right and we were up and running in no time. We will be using him in the future and recommend him to our friends and neighbors. read more

Scott was terrific -- he fixed our dryer quickly and explained what he was doing, and how I could maintain it properly. He was thorough, helpful, pleasant and professional. He diagnosed the problem with our dishwasher (it was a plumbing problem), and took the time later that evening to email me a link to the owner's manual (I'm a new homeowner and the previous owners did not leave this kind of information.) Terrific work, I highly recommend Scott! read more

If you need a super competent, efficient, and generally good serviceman, Scott is your guy! He's repaired our dishwasher twice and our friend's garbage disposal, with associate DW trouble, in a jiffy. Plus he helps you to learn some stuff that will save you another call from him. Very reasonably priced! read more

When dish washers go bad you have to pull out your wallet and pray. Scott was on time, professional, fair and honest. What else could you ask for? Call him and know you're being treated like family. read more

I called Scott because I was having trouble with my Bosch dishwasher. He didn't come out to service it but rather helped me through the whole process and answered about a dozen texts until I was able to solve the problem. That's incredible service, he made no money on this but has made a long time fan and I know he'll be the only person I call the next time anything happens. read more

Scott has repaired our dryer (twice) and our dishwasher (twice). He is easy to reach via email, responds quickly and gets the job done. I never feel like he over charges and he always explains exactly what he fixed so we learn a little bit in the process. read more

Scott was fantastic, and he helped me avoid potentially serious trouble with my dryer. i actually had him out on two separate occasions for two different issues with the dryer, and both times he was professional, prompt, fast, and knowledgeable. his rates are very reasonable, and to boot, he's just a nice guy. I would definitely recommend him again, and i will keep his name on file in case i need a repair person again. read more

I just used Scott to fix my washing machine which clogged due to a bobby pin. Scott was very professional, came within two days (other places make you wait up to 2 weeks) and even called me when he was running just a couple of minutes late. I felt his price was very fair and was also pleased that he didn't try to sell me a part I didn't really need. I would highly recommend Scott and will use him again if needed (hopefully not!). Thanks Scott! read more

I had no previous experience with Scott but decided to give him a try when water failed to drain from our dishwasher. Scott arrived when expected, quickly fixed the problem, and clearly documented the work performed in on his receipt. Based on this, I will call on Scott again when we need installation or repair work. read more

Scott is as great as his Yelp reviews led me to believe. My stackable washer was unbalanced and making noises, so I called him up and was psyched that he was able to come out within a couple days to fix it. Not only did he fix the washer quickly and for the price he quoted over the phone, he took the time to talk to me (over the phone) and my mom (in person) about some ideas we had about getting a new washer/dryer combo. He really went out of his way to educate us, give up some tips, and assess our space for the new washer/dryer we're thinking of getting. Special thanks to Scott for pointing out something of concern with our water heater pipes... it's something we never would have noticed, and now we can be proactive and avoid a big mess. I will call him again for sure the next time I have any appliance issues. read more

A really nice guy. And very fast. And not expensive. I would definitely call him again. He repaired our dishwasher and explained to me what to do if it stops draining properly again. Excellent. read more

Can't imagine Scott not calling Marty C. back. Definitely had to be a mix up of some sort. He emailed me within minutes of my contacting him. Came the next day to repair my washer and even fashioned a work around so that I didn't have to purchase a very expensive part. He is reasonably priced and great to work with. Can't recommend him highly enough. read more

If you need any of your appliances repaired, do not call Scott the Fix It Guy. It appears it is a crap shoot whether he will answer your calls. Our refrigerator water dispenser lever broke and needed it replaced. Although a friend recommended Galvin's In El Cerrito, we decided to contact Scott because we like to support independent businesses. He never returned our texts. Seems he doesn't need the business so we will be calling Galvin's like we should have in the first place. We will be sure to spread the word to not use Scott. Too bad I had to use a star. Wish there was a choice to use none! read more

Wow...my washer was installed by some idiot from Sears who apparently hooked up the hot and cold water backwards. They wanted $125 to come look at a problem that was their fault! Scott diagnosed the trouble from the email I sent him and encouraged me to fix it myself. Switched the hoses, done in 5 minutes and cost me nothing. I will definitely be sending business his way from now on. read more

Scott Flint may be the world's greatest appliance repair person. Some repair persons are simply parts replacers. Scott, on the other hand, thinks about what might be wrong. He loves to analysis a problem and loves to explain and teach you about the problem. Here is a good example: we had trouble with the burners on a kitchen stove that just didn't want to light. Our old repair person replaced the piezo lighters twice with no improvement. Then he got frustrated and gave up and left with a bad attitude. Scott immediately diagnosed the problem and came up with a simple solution. He cleaned corrosion off the burner parts with a wire brush. The burners now light beautifully and we know what to do if the problem recurs. In addition, Scott is very conscientious and follows up on everything. And his prices are very fair. Not to mention what a pleasant person he is. read more

I had a problem with my washer. It quit mid-spin. I was going out of town the next day. Scott took the time to do some simple troubleshooting steps with. That was all it took. I am definitely going to use him in the future. read more

My 5-year old dryer stopped heating, and on a weekend of course. Luckily, I found Scott's web site through a Yelp search, filled out his contact form, and amazingly received a reply soon after. He suggested what part might be causing my problem, and more importantly, provided a link to a video that was specific to my machine. The video not only showed me how to do the repair, but gave me the confidence to do it myself. I found the part locally for $15, and was able to fix the unit in about an hour. Incredible! read more

Scott responded by email promptly and was able to fix my washing machine a day later. He also let me watch him do the repair and explained to me how the washer worked and showed me how to take the shell of it off - great for me because I love learning about fix it stuff even if I am not full on DIY. As a bonus, he greased a part so the washer would no longer shake as much and he rebolted my diswhasher which was loose in under the counter. And his price was very reasonable. read more

Scott was great. He actually helped me fix my broken dishwasher myself, and he didn't give up until we figured it out. He knows his stuff!

We had to play a little phone tag but it was worth it. Scott showed up, was very friendly and personable, got the done quickly and efficiently (replacing the door gasket on a front-loading washer) and even complimented my cats. My washer is working well and I'm quite pleased. Two thumbs up! read more

Our dryer died for the 2nd time! Our first repair was done through Sears and a huge waste of $$ and time! Scott came exactly as scheduled and went above and beyond in helping me understand the problem w/ my dryer. He also gave great tips on how to maintain my dryer working well. Great service! Glad my husband read the earlier yelp comments. read more

Scott fixed our dryer. I thought I might need to buy a new one but no - Scott fixed the problem. It was so nice to have someone I could count on and trust since I know nothing about this stuff. I would recommend Scott to all of my friends for sure. He is the only guy I will call now for any issues that I have. read more

This review is long overdue. Scott helped my husband and I so much when we first moved into our house a few months ago. It was a very stressful time with so many things going wrong in the house and waiting for new appliances to come in. In my experience, other repairmen haven't been very friendly, but it was so refreshing and comfortable having Scott help us out! We were so lucky to find him through yelp and have him fix some broken burners on the stove. He came back again to help us hook up our washer and dryer, and he was nice enough to take a look at some other things. To reiterate what other reviewers have said, Scott is very helpful, very friendly, very knowledgeable, trustworthy and just an all around GREAT guy! We are so happy we found our go-to fix-it guy!!! Also, we recently needed help with some plumbing issues and he was able to refer us to another great guy! Thanks so much, Scott! :) read more

another satisfied customer. my clothes dryer needed a new belt. he responded immediately to my text message and asked the right questions. he arrived with the appropriate replacement part and fixed the machine in barely an hour. he was very polite and courteous. i would use him again should any of my appliances break down, and would not hesitate to recommend him. read more

I called in the morning and got a same day afternoon appointment for my dishwasher. Scott showed up on the dot of our appointment time. After pushing various buttons (as I had done the night before) with no result, he methodically disassembled it, explaining what he was doing, clearing out all the loose particles as he went. The problem wasn't very obvious and he thought it was the "motor relay" but lo and behold when he reassembled it, it worked, but it only worked once. The next day, the dishwasher didn't work again; I called Scott but I was unable to reach him and left a message. Later that day he called back. He said that it could also be a broken wire but I had already called Galvin by that time. We were having a dinner party and I could not wait. Galvin carries many parts in their truck. It was a broken wire as Scott had said but they also fixed the door handle which had been broken for a long time. Anyway I ended up paying twice. Subsequently, Scott texted me to make sure my dishwasher was running and apologized for being unavailable. He would not have charged me for the second service call. His prices and his helpful disposition are a definite asset. By way of apology, he offered me half price on any repair I might need in the future on any of my appliances. read more
