I'm sure the 1 mile walk back to the car (which took more time than the previous 9 plus miles) did not help the injury at all. Days later, the surgeon inserted a screw to fix the "Jones" fracture. Finally, a year later, the bone is beginning to heal and I need some extra protection to allow it to solidify more. Baker Orthotics was highly recommended. Getting an appointment was easy as was finding them in a strip mall with plenty of parking. They were up front about everything and I like that. The team is very knowledgeable and they used a laser scanning tool to make a shoe insole that would protect the healing bone and help me reduce the limp using a carbon fiber plate. They made some adjustments the day I was picking up to improve my gait and off I went. Within days, the mileage was starting to pick up as their device was giving me the mobility I needed. A few months later, Memorial Day Weekend 2021, I completed 11 miles on the foot without pain.

This past visit we got to see her actual "Mechanical Engineering" talents right in front of our faces. Summer, along with her colleagues right next door, provided a place for my sister and I to stay in their air-conditioned office, because Summer's office air-conditioning had went out. They were so friendly and thoughtful, and were constantly asking if we needed something to drink or eat the entire five (5)-plus hours we were there. Summer and her colleagues would not let my sister leave until she was completely comfortable, with no signs of distress while demonstrating her walking ability using her new prosthetic leg. It was simply amazing to see how Summer and her colleagues made so many ever-so-slight adjustments, that to me, as an observer, I thought could certainly not make such a drastic change and difference. Lo and behold, each time I was given an education on their "magical" talents and how significant those one-quarter screw loosenings and tightenings were in making such a dramatic difference. Chose this clinic for shoe inserts on the recommendation of my podiatrist. Was vastly disappointed…read morein their "expertise," as the right insert did not correctly follow the doctor's prescription, he said, and two sloppy follow up adjustments made it way worse. This situation occasioned three extra visits to my podiatrist. In an initial effort to fix the problem, I got out my electric sander and tried to smooth down the bump. On the next podiatrist visit, he removed the adjustment altogether and advised me to buy new pre-made inserts by mail from another local company. Now, here's the worst part. A bill arrived just this week (about three months overdue) saying it was a FINAL NOTICE and would be sent for collection if not paid. (I had not received any earlier bilThe total came to $464.00, none of which is covered by my insurance. I am currently able to walk again, but no thanks to Hanger Clinic.
