Where do I began , my daughter came to dr Fishman for dental work when she was 3 and they were great then. They are truly amazing at this office and dr Fishman is heaven sent. My daughter is now 8 years old and needed work on baby teeth however my insurance would not cover any work. In between dealing with insurance and her being seen at other offices she developed an abscess in her gums. I called dr Fishman office in hopes and prayer that she could be seen within the week , well they got her in for a consult the next day. He saw her and gave her antibiotics and got her in the next day for procedure under sedation. They were so patient and understanding. He truly cares for his patients and has their best interest at heart. Although I was so nervous the procedure went great and she did so well. Dr Fishman and is his staff are amazing !!! ATTN 1st TIME MOTHERS; Stop searching. This is the place to bring your child for their first visit ever. If your really anxious about finding the best care for your child, Dr. Fishman is amazing and the best choice. My 3yo is terrified to go to any doctors office, but staff made him feel so comfortable. Dr. Fishman is very detailed about explaining procedures, so he allowed for me to record him so I can play over for my husband. You can tell he has a passion for what he does and wants to make sure you and your child are comfortable. My son had 2 small cavities to fill, I was a little nervous about not being allowed in the room during the procedure (it was my first time leaving him anywhere without me), but Dr.Fishman was very reassuring, and when I left the room my son quickly ask to hold Roxannas, the assistant, hand and she was delighted to do so. Due to Covid I had to wait in my car, they txted me during his procedure to let me know progress and then Dr. Fishman personally came to get me, and told me my son did amazing! Dr. Fishman is amazing. He was highly recommended to me by my dentist who I love and trust. My five year old has seen Dr. Fishman twice now and I could not be happier with our experience. He is very kind, very knowledgeable, and very thorough. Our latest trip to Dr. Fishman resulted from my son complaining of tooth pain and waking up with a very swollen face. He needed an emergency tooth extraction (X-ray showed no signs of cavity but signs of tooth distress etc). Dr. Fishman did the extraction right then and there and my son did great! Not only did that go well, he personally called me that night to make sure my son was doing fine, saw him the next day to check on things, and got in touch with me again the day after that to make sure he was still doing okay. Speaking for myself, I think this establishment (staff, and Dr included) are phenomenal! After reading previous reviews regarding pricing and sedation options, all I can say from my experience is that I'm glad my son was put under to avoid trauma and thus, making things much easier. The 300.00, well, you can go to other places but the way I see it, it's the care and professionalism throughout this clinic that makes it well worth it. We all have choices and we had our children in another clinic, but I am so so glad we found this place. What I say to you is try it and if you like it, which I'm sure you will, great. Me and my husband had previously taken our son for his first dental appointment in Huntington Park around 6 months ago. As soon as we walked into that office we realized how dirty it was, the floors, the staff. We decided to look for hopefully a better office/doctor. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, your precious baby should visit a pediatric dentist when the first tooth comes in, usually between 6 and 12 months of age. Personally, we felt that was way too early and waited until after her 1st birthday. We had a friend recommend a very kid-friendly place in the city of Downey and at 15 months old, we are just waiting for 4 baby teeth to come in! Our princess loved the waiting room full of games and very kid-friendly. She was a bit scared once we went into the exam room and actually cried the whole time. The Pediatric Dentist explained how to care for her teeth and to make sure we don't allow her to fall asleep with the bottle. Brushing at this point at least twice a day (morning and before bedtime) and begin to create good dental hygiene habits. This office is AMAZING! We were referred here by another dentist in the area as a great pediatric office for our kids (we live in Anaheim- this place is TOTALLY worth the drive!). My oldest girl needed A LOT of work done (tooth extraction, spacer, crown, and fillings). She's only 5 and hasn't had any previous dental work done so she was nervous. Everyone in this office is so genuine, welcoming, and kind. They didn't do anything until they made sure she was comfortable and they are super encouraging. We even got a call from her dentist later in the day, just to check on her and see how she was feeling. She's actually excited to go back in a couple of weeks to finish up her fillings. I honestly couldn't have imagined a better, more caring group of people than the ones in this office. Reviews don't lie! I decided on this dental office to bring my two year old for her very first dentist appointment. I had to bring her in during the Covid-19 situation due to her prolonged complaints of pain in her molars. We were in touch with the front office for about a week and then they gave us a prompt appointment after there was no improvement. We had limited interaction with most of the staff but the ones we did interact with were friendly, welcoming and approachable. The front office staff was most helpful in helping us over the phone and friendly every time we phoned. (At least 4times) Dr. Fishman was very thorough in explaining to me her treatment plan and how he wanted to proceed. He was calm and gentle when looking in her mouth to keep her calm and comfortable throughout the process. I am glad we brought her to Dr. Fishman's office. Office was clean and presentable though waiting area was closed due to CDC guidelines. Plenty of parking is available in the lot. Definitely our new pediatric dentist. read more

I was referred to Dr. Fishman 18 years ago when my daughter (who was 3 at the time) was terrified of her dentist who didn't "believe" in sedation and therefore we (parents & children) re forced to sit in the waiting room and listen to the screams and crying of other children BEFORE it was even our turn! I am not quite sure if Jaynne G.( the reviewer below) is more upset about not getting some kind of postcard in the mail (they do call, email, and even text reminders) to remind her to bring her child to the dentist, or the fact that he by her own statement her 3 year old son who, "does not like doctors or dentist" expected Dr. Fishman to somehow magically calm him down...Seriously? Your kid needs to be sedated so that 1. Dr. Fishman can do his job and fill his cavities without causing injury to him if he's crying and screaming and 2. He does not fear the dentist (as he will have no recollection of the procedure), that may continue into his adult years. Good luck finding another dentist that will put up with your screaming kid while he's trying to do his job. Lastly, his staff is AMAZING. They are always helpful and responsive to all of my calls and questions. I know many dental offices that you can't even get a live person on the phone without leaving a message for a call back. Dr. Fishman is a professional who takes pride in his profession and treats the children he sees like they were his own! ********** Please read*******. 5 star is way to less to give to this place. Let me start off by saying I have a 12 year autistic non verbal child with severe behaviors. Don't get me wrong, I love my son, but i dreaded such appointments like the dentist. In the past my son has had to be tied down by this velcrow blanket just to get himself semi checked out as we tried to hold his head in place to get a clamp in there. I know this sounds awful but having a special needs child like this, sometimes u just have to do what u have to do. Gonna say this just to get it out of the way But I cried with him. Every single doctors visit was always a pain in the butt BUT the dentist was the worst, Physically and financially, The moment you would ask my son to open his mouth it was like u were telling him to close it for dear life. It was so bad I had to always pay the anesthesiologist her fee for my son to be inspected and then again for the procedure to be done. Was it expensive yes but unfortunately that was the only way. As we all know insurance companies are the biggest pains in the butt when in comes to authorizations. My primary dentist who I love tried so hard to get my son the care he needed but met with road blocks due to no one wanting to take my sons case. They made phone calls and I made phone calls and it looked like the only alternative was going to be children's hospital which had a 5 month wait. Thanks to the Internet my primary dentist found Dr Fishman office and tried to get me in as soon as possible. Of course it wasnt that easy, our insurance company, was being a pain in the butt and we needed to wait. I contacted Dr Fishman office immediately and told them how stressed out I was and ALL the problems I was having. I spoke to Jackie who without even an authorization gave me an appointment and said we would figure it out. The day of our appointment being the autism mom I was, I took all his favorite toys, movies, and back up adults (4 including myself). I was prepared to go to war with my son. We started off with X-rays and I immediately told the X-ray technician those were not gonna happened. She looked at me and said don't worry I'm a very patient person. I laughed and said, "Ok but if he bites you, don't say I didn't warn you!" We all stood their nervously laughing saying she was going to get bit and called her "Brave". I even said, " i wouldn't even but my fingers in ******** mouth." The game plan was a 4 person circle just in case my son bit and gave each other tasks as to what to do. She approached him and I prompted him asking him to open his mouth. My son bit down for dear life and basically told us it was not going to happened. After about 5 minutes I don't know what happened, my son opened his mouth and she got X-rays. Never has that happened and everyone in that room began to yell praising my son. I was in shock and could not believe what had just happened. It was now time to see Dr Fishman who prior to us seing him had been explained what my son would and would not allow to be done. He cleared the room and did not allow anyone besides us (5 including my son) in the back. He asked me if my son would sit in his chair and we all laughed. Dr Fishman asked why we were laughing and I said, "A miracle just happened in your X-ray room and this point I don't know what my son will do anymore." So I asked my son to sit down and got the non verbal you do it. Dr Fishman reclined the chair back, took a step back, and asked him to lay down. My son needed some guidance but we managed to do it, yet another miracle, the exam was done!!! Due to the amount of work my son needed, Dr Fishman and I. Both agreed it was best that my son go under. A couple of days before his appointment, my sons primary doctor requested blood work, ANOTHER DREADFUL EXPERIENCE! I contacted Dr Fishmans office and asked him if they were willing to due the blood draw. They advised me the anesthesiologist would call me so that I could explain what was going on. With in an hour she calls me and tells me not to worry about it and told me she would do it. CAN YOU SAY AWESOME! She gave me specific instructions and told me what to bring. She explained to me how she would put my son under and made me feel at ease. Anyone that has ever seen their child go under knows it's a scary thing, especially if they can't tell you it hurts or its making me feel dizzy. My point with this long review is this, my son is a very special case. Before finding Dr. Fishman's office, no one would help us. If you know anyone that has a special needs child let alone a normal child, this is the place to go. THEY UNDERSTOOD and did not treat us like we were any different while accommoidating my sons needs. To everyone at this facility, Thank you! read more

Took my 5 years old for dental work. Since it was his first time being sedated , as parents we were very worried. After reading about the procedure from the paperwork we got at this dental office we were more at ease since the paper stated in bold letters that ONLY and ONLY DR FISHMAN would be the one giving the sedation drink... Well that is NOT TRUE!! Another dentist ended up giving the sedation. Which I didn't mind because he seemed knowledgeable but they should update their paperwork if their practices have changed .... My 3 kids have been coming here for years and they have done such great job of taking care of them and making the experience positive for all The office staff is always so nice, helpful and easy to talk to while making appointments. From the staff greeting you upon entering to the dental assistants, to the dentist they are all great! We have three toddlers 3 and under and everyone is so friendly and helpful. You don't feel rushed. They answer all my questions and I have many! As parents, my husband & I, both love, Dr. Fishman & Dr. Gibson as well as all their assistants! Dr. Fishman is very patient & kind. He speaks to all the little people in a way that makes them feel safe & comfortable. We have been seeing him since our oldest daughter was 3yrs, and is now 11yrs old. I'm not taking my son anymore because of the receptionists. Highly unprofessional. I have been driving from Long Beach for 13 years with both my children. The dentist and orthodontist are amazing, patient, kind and helpful. Always open for me to come in. A couple years now I have been dealing with the bad attitude of the front staff and ignoring it, now I can't get my Ortho referral through and they are not only of no help, but terrible attitude. There is no way I am driving that far to be treated badly. I got a full paid orthodontist referral from my insurance that I will be using elsewhere. My sons have been patients of Dr Fishman since they were each a year old. Now 9 & 12, they had their 6 month check ups today. My oldest was a bit nervous going in because prior this visit he had slacked on his flossing, Dr Fishman caught on & counseled him on what he needed to do to correct it. My son said "Dr Fishman talks to us like he really cares about us. He talks to us like we are his family".
