I have HIGHLY sensitive teeth and he takes his time, he's gentle, and patient. Dr. A also gives you all the information you need to keep your smile healthy and beautiful. He's honest and will only do work that is necessary. He was my dentist from my adolescent years up until about 25 then I switched insurances and had to go to another dentist. Being a patient here has been the absolute, #1 best dental service I've ever received. Possibly even best medical service in general. I was a patient with Dr. Alcalde for about a year and a half, and I recently had to move to northern california due to covid. I have found a new dentist near me and they provide excellent service, but it just isn't the same. I genuinely miss visits to this office! I was a pretty regular patient because I had a ton of backed up dental work, a complicated baby tooth situation, wanted aligners, yadayada. I got referred here by a friend who used to work with Mireya--truly such a sweet person! I cannot stress enough how nice these people genuinely are. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of everyone I interacted with, but there were also two other ladies who continued the train of blowing me away with their kindness. And the doctor is THE ONE. Dr. Alcalde is so informative and so gentle when providing care. Ive had starkly different experiences from even cleanings with him than with any other dentist. It's clear that he is very experienced and knows what he's doing. But what really amazed me was that I was never "just a patient". They always made me feel like it was my personal treatment plan. They made sure that I knew all my options but never pushed me towards any specific treatments, instead they made sure that I was happy with the results/finances. I want to stress again that I have a very complicated case and they never once made me feel like a nuisance for constantly asking questions/rearranging the treatment plan as things changed. I always felt like they came from the perspective of really trying to do what was best for me long term. If this place fits your bill in terms of area/insurance (i drove 30-40 mins to the office and it was worth the distance to me), I say its an absolute must to look into! read more

This is the most polite and professional team I've ever encountered. And I have to say, those kid dentist offices with tv's and Disney decor are overrated. It takes A LOT for me to recommend someone for anything, especially when it comes to something something that can be a bit scary like a dentist. I came to to the office after I was fortunate enough to meet Mireya through a mutual friend. Even then, it took me about a year before calling in to schedule. I finally made it in April 2019. Christina was super sweet and patient with me as I had not been to a dentist in about 6 years (bad experience with replacement dentist after my dentist of many years just up and moved out of the country without notice.) Dr. Alcalde is the best! He's a genuinely nice guy who truly loves what he does. He is gentle and really makes you feel that you're in good hands when you're in his chair. I got all four of my wisdom teeth removed by him at the same time and didn't even flinch. He even called me personally the next day to see how I was doing. He also explains the way your teeth work in a way that will inspire you to take care of them. Before my first visit I hadn't been to the dentist in over 10 years and was not looking forward to it. Let me just start by saying this is the best dentist I have ever gone to. I have had issues with a certain tooth for years (2 root canals because my first dentist did a horrible job on it which left me with no choice but to redo it) but Dr.Alcalde gave me great and knowledgeable advice to save the tooth vs extracting it. I had 3 other dentist advise me to extract it because they didn't want to deal with it to be honest but Dr.Alcalde told me to save it because I was young and if you are in a position where a tooth can be saved do it, and I'm sure glad I did!!! Not only is he amazing and great at what he does but all his staff is just as amazing!!! Christina, Mireya and Gracie are so professional yet so friendly and welcoming. I literally feel like I'm going to my Prima's house or something lol Gracie always goes out of her way to make me feel comfortable while doing my cleanings and always checks up on me as well to make sure I'm okay. I've been to other dental hygienist and their rough, cut me up and don't even care if I'm chocking while the procedure is being done. Christina and Mireya always know exactly where I left off on my last visit call me by name and deal with my insurance for me. They give me the best advise to maximize my insurance coverage at all times. If you are in the area definitely check them it out!!!! The day after my wisdom tooth extraction, Dr. Alcalde called me to check up on me and gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him if any problems or complications. Just an amazing dentist.
