Injecting Epinephrine into an Artery is NOT normal. It's neglect on your behalf, Monica Puentes. There is a way you as a dentist can retract the syringe to make sure you are not injecting into an artery, which you did not hence what caused this incident, you administered the medication carelessly and rapidly. If I had underlying medical conditions, this could have killed me! Your condescending reply is shameful. You never apologized nor provided any comfort. Instead, you seemed annoyed, you through your gloves & left the room, leaving me with your assistant. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Monica Puentes for about 12 years. I am very particular about my dental work because I'm diabetic and need good care of my overall health. I came in 12 years ago looking for a second opinion on a tooth I was loosing. I was told I needed it removed. When I came to Dr. Puentes she was able to save it and strengthen it. Till this day I still have my tooth. I receive treatment and cleaning every 3 months due to my diabetes and I have followed her to her different offices/locations she's been in. I don't feel like a stranger is working on me, I feel more as if I'm coming to a family friend. With traffic sometimes I drive about an hour to get to her but I rather drive the hour and go to a trusted dentist. During this Covid-19 season, Dr. Monica Puentes has been compliant with all the Covid screening prior to entering a room. Her office is very clean and I trust coming in to continue my dental work in a safe and healthy way. I have finally found a dentist who actually provides medical care rather than just promoting all the latest cosmetic dentistry fads. I go to the dentist to receive medical treatment for the health of my teeth and gums, but most places I have been just peddle various cosmetics and do so in a demeaning way. "You have a beautiful smile but.." fill in the blank with expensive unnecessary treatment. Dr. Puentes is the exact opposite. She is very professional and technically astute. If you want to look pretty you might want to go someplace else(I'm sure she can do this too but does not peddle it) but if you want actual medical care go here. read more

I'm not sure why I haven't wrote a review for this business but here's a short one. I want to say about a year or so ago I decided to go to this establishment for my check up (I went based on the awesome reviews). My check up went great. Great as in, everyone was extremely nice and all my questions were answered. Dr. Puentes made me feel super comfortable. By the end of my appointment I had a list of procedures that I had to get done and an estimated out of pocket amount which would have been over $10K. I was obviously taken aback because of the total cost but I figure, since I had several years without actually going to a dentistry, maybe that was the correct charge. Later that day I was reviewing the paperwork and noticed that they were charging me way more than what my insurance stated they should be charging. I went back the following day and brought it up to one of the assistance's attention. She got with billing and they "fixed" the issue. My total cost did not change because God knows what extra charges they added to make up the difference. I started my procedure with them and then went elsewhere. The dental work was not done properly and I am still having problems with dental work. To top it of Vanesa her receptionist is always rude and unprofessional, I brought it up to the Dentist and she said I could find a new dentist . Over the weekend I realized that my wisdom tooth needed to be extracted. I called the office and they I formed that they had an opening for today at 2pm. My 2 daughters and I have been patients of Dr. Puentes for the last 2 years and I have no complaints. Every financial orthodontist decision has been carefully discussed with me by the dentist and/or receptionist. Just like with buying cars, with picking a dentist you always should do your research & shop around before you accept anything. I've been to some dishonest dentists in LBC and Dr. Puentes is not like them. She is very family oriented and kid friendly which is a plus for me.
