I made an appointment after seeing the reviews over yelp were positive and they were all correct. I made an appointment over the phone and was scheduled for a Monday at 5. I arrived earlier and they were able to see me pretty quickly. They were all very friendly and the doctor was able to fill my cavities and give me a cleaning all in the same visit. Today I followed my Yelper instinct and came to Family Friendly Dental for the first time, needed to (ehem...) take care of a couple cavities and a cleaning. Expect a no frills office, small comfortable lobby, nice clean facilities short wait time, and super friendly staff. My dentist was very welcoming and friendly, I didn't get that Why are you about to torture me! feeling. All through the whole process, I felt like they knew exactly what they were doing, great team vibe between doctor and assistant, he was able to patch my tooth and avoid (for now) the dreaded root canal, I was a happy camper. On the pain scale, I would say the doctor has a gentle hand and is very reassuring while working, he made sure i was comfortable and ok, so to me the discomfort was minimal if any at all, major points on the pain free department from this guy. Overall a very comfortable experience for me, I tend to like more Mom and pops type businesses and this one sure had that feel. Definitely my go to dental clinic from here on. read more

If you don't like people, either at least pretend, or work somewhere else. Loved Dr Balarie but my exam seemed very short, and I suspect it's because I have Medi Cal. Dr. Martinez is THE best dentist I've seen! She's gentle, knowledgeable, caring and provides an understandable consultation before proceeding. I went for a check up and to check on a tooth that was bothering me. Turned out I had to get a root canal as the tooth was infected. The procedure was done so well, my tooth after 6 months is doing fine and I'm able to chew well and not have that pain in that tooth any longer without complications. The dentists are great and they do good work but rude front staff. Had a 1 o clock appointment set up 2 months ago and last minute they move it to 12pm. Today is the day of the appointment, it's 12:45 and I'm still in the waiting room, not sure why they needed to push my appointment back, just to waste my time. On top of that the heavy set receptionist is rude and gives attitude even though it's clearly an error on their part. read more

Today marked the end of almost six months of ongoing dental work for both medical and aesthetic reasons for my upcoming wedding this July the 22nd. Dr. Balarie and his staff were wonderful from beginning to end with the most invasive of procedures. He will be honest with you and your treatment. He is critical of his work and if something is not quite right, rest assured he will make it so. The office is clean, the staff is kind and professional and the equipment used is new technology. I must admit, my expectations of a 'little-hole-in-the-wall" dental practice were not high. In 45 mins I was attended, numbed, and had my last 2 wisdom teeth extracted. My previous experience and care with another dentistry scared me into waiting 5 years before having the last 2 removed. This new place has my loyalty and referrals. The assistant Mayra was so sweet and calming, and the doc was very reassuring making sure there was no pain. I love this place. It has always been a pleasant visit when I first arrived to this location. I had my wisdom tooth removed and also had my braces come and go! They're estimates on timing are perfect compared to what I have other from others when they get braces on at other locations. The visits are always timely and well kept, and the dental assistants are as nice as the doctor. Great place to go, if you need any dental work. So far so good. Super gentle in mouth didn't even feel any of the shots. Best of all the he treated me like a human! No BS no scams everything was legit. Honesty is everything to me especially when it comes to my health. I had a previous dentist put a crown on an infected tooth that wasn't worth saving. Next step is implants. I will schedule that procedure once my mouth has healed a bit and I'm also currently pregnant so you can't get the implants right away and also consult with your dr first If your pregnant and considering implants. They also have an awesome deal going on until the end of the summer for implants. I thought I had to wait years before I could afford something like that. They also work out payment plans with you. By far my best dental experience to date -- and I'm 33. Dr. Balarie and Elizabeth were my team and they were remarkable! From the initial phone call as a new patient to the execution of my visit, nothing seemed rushed, unfriendly or uncaring. Elizabeth is a delight from start to finish...and she's cute! She was extremely professional throughout. Dr. Balarie was so easy and pleasant to work with and he took his genuine time in going over my specific needs, being a person with a physical disability whose dental needs are affected, he provided genuine and honest input that will benefit me long term. Speaking of disability, the facility is definitely accessible to wheelchair users and the staff are very accommodating to make sure of it. The X-ray room is a bit tight and the exam rooms, but definitely manageable with a team effort approach. Thank you all so much for the memorable and lasting experience. I will be back. read more

I've actually been a patient for about two years now and they have been great with me but what really wowed me was how patient they were with my 3 year old daughter. She had x-rays done by Erika which made her feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire process. Dr. Balarie is the dentist who saw my daughter which also made her feel so comfortable. She had her teeth cleaned and 2 cavities filled. Elizabeth, dental assistant was super with her, she took her time cleaning and explaining what was next. At the end of the cleaning we were taken to the kids room which felt welcoming, my daughter played while we waited. Dr. Balarie and Elizabeth made her feel so relaxed and safe as her 2 teeth were filled. She didn't cry once, I was amazed at how they took their time with her and how happy she was after seeing the dentist. The team as a whole is awesome!!
