We showed up for the consultation appointment and waited for almost an hour to be seen; when we go back, the dentist was looking at 2 yr old xrays and I had to point that fact out to him because he couldn't read the date...which i though was kind of a red flag, pink it least. So, they do updated xrays and we move forward with the consultation and I schedule an appt to get my sons wisdom teeth removed. The appointment was scheduled more than 30 days out... the evening before the appointment on June 6, 2025, I received a call saying the insurance was still not confirmed and unless i wanted to pay out of pocket, they would have to reschedule the appointment. I asked them to call me back to schedule once they verify insurance. This place NEVER called back. What I have received, 2 billings for $10.93 with no indication why i was billed. I get it it's $10.93, it least its not $110.93. I paid this a month ago because I realize this place is not good and I just want them to go away. Today, August 1, 2025, I received the same billing for $10.93. I called at 330pm on a Friday and the office is closed, but the office hours are listed to be open til 430pm. The point in all this is, don't waste your time with this practice, find a better place for you or your family member to be put under and have someone cutting into your mouths.

I'm not as scared now of the upcoming two dental implants. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

One of my motos is if you always treat people like family you can never go wrong. To me when I feel that a doctor/dentist truly care about my health or dental needs, it bills a closer relationship with me as a clients. This kind of treatment will keep clients coming back and referring new potentual clients to his office. Dr. Ghannam and his staff have cultivated a family approach to dentistry that shows up in every corner of his approach to this profession. I feel like he wouldn't recommend anything to me that he wouldn't do for himself or his family. He has always tried to put me at ease by explaining the procedures and answering my many questions over the years. His tecniques shows a well trained young dentist, but his ability to communicate with me proved wisdom far beyond his age. I have spent my intire life in many a dentist chair because having a beautiful smile has always been one of the most important things I could do for my health & my professional appearance. With that being said I am someone who has always been extremely nervous when it comes to sitting in that chair, but the level of care he and his staff have provided for me in his office to ensure my comfort each time I am there is truly extraodinary .He will always have my sincere gratitude and appreciation. Respectfully, Deborah Freddie

I had a number of problems on a recent visit to Springfield Modern Dentistry, where I had a tooth…read moreextracted three months ago. First, the dentist didn't offer clear or thorough instructions about how to care for the affected area following the procedure. He told me to avoid hot food and drinks, not to eat Doritos, and to chew on the other side of my mouth. That was it. He failed to mention, until I had already been home for a few hours, not to spit, even though my mouth would be producing a lot of saliva. I had been spitting, of course, and the healing process was more slow and painful because of this. He didn't mention that my face would be bruised and swollen or that I should use an ice pack right away to prevent the swelling. He didn't mention whether or not I should brush/floss my teeth after surgery, and how to go about doing it. He only wanted to get rid of me as quickly as possible. As he left, he told his assistant to have me x-rayed. She took me to the front desk and said goodbye. I said, "Excuse me, I was supposed to get x-rays,." She scowled at me and brought me back for x-rays. I should mention that she was rude throughout the day. Avoided eye contact, barely spoke, glared at me. Several times during the procedure, when the dentist stepped away, she lightly-to-moderately bumped me in the face with her dental tools. Maybe she did this because she was turning to speak to the dentist, or maybe it was not an accident. I don't know. When she took me back for x-rays, she didn't speak. She was embarrassed that she forgot to have me x-rayed, perhaps. She shoved the x-ray device into my mouth violently, which hurt a great deal, especially since I'd just had surgery. Then she swiveled the x-ray machine around and smacked me in the side of the face with it. Twice. She did not apologize for this. It felt very much like an assault. To say the least, it was not a great experience. I was going to discuss these matters with the dentist during my follow-up, but that's another problem. My original follow-up was, according to the dentist, supposed to be two weeks after the procedure. However, they woman at the front desk scheduled it for three weeks, even after I reminded her what the dentist had said. "Three weeks is fine," the woman at the front desk said. I'm not sure she should be overruling the dentist, but that's how it went. I called to reschedule the follow-up, but no one answered, so I filled out the online form. I received an automated email saying that someone would get back to me very soon. However, no one did. After more than a week, I tried calling back, but again no one answered. Several months went by, but still no one called or emailed. Clearly, Springfield Modern Dentistry is not concerned with my post-op rehabilitation. I eventually told them not to bother scheduling a follow-up because I didn't feel safe there. I notified The Smile Generation--the parent company of Springfield Modern Dentistry--about these problems two months ago, but they have not responded. I sent a follow-up message and was told to be patient. Their lack of a timely response, of any response, shows a pattern of abuse and neglect from the organization. They were informed of a very serious series of problems, but have done nothing and have not bothered to contact me at all (they have my email, phone number and Facebook info). They have not even contacted me to provide post-op instructions, though I informed them two months ago that they had not done so. Moreover, I contacted them before filing a formal complaint with the Dental Board of Virginia, asking for the dental assistant's name, but they would not give it to me, which is quite disturbing. This shows a total lack of concern for their patients' health, safety and well-being. As a side note, I have visited several of their branches and have experienced problems with every one. Clearly, there are systemic problems at the Smile Generation, coming from the management down to the dentists, assistants and assorted staff members. I'm still waiting for a response. I'm sure they will have a lot of excuses and denials for the Dental Board, but, if so, these will be lies. There's no excuse for what they did or how they have chosen to ignore my complaints. They have acted with a lack of ethics, professionalism and basic human decency. I have been very patient, but I will no longer be a patient.

Having an urgent errand, we asked the front desk if we can come back to pick her up after her teeth is cleaned. They said yes, and we left. Long story short, they call us back to say that they can't do anything to her teeth until the guardian/parent is there at the office. If that's the case, why did the front desk tell us that its okay to come back later to pick her up?! If they told us about this while we were at the office, we could have rearranged our plan instead of having our child stay there doing nothing until we come back. Wasting our time, no apology, blaming us for this "miscommunication", this will be our last visit.
