I've been fired by my new Dentist!! Wow!!....so we (my sons and I) switched dentists because our old dentist stopped taking our insurance. Picking one closest to us (Brambleton), we switched to Bloo Dental in the Brambleton Town Center. Our visit was a 6-month regular checkup/cleaning, and the first impression was very good....pleasant atmosphere, and the Dentist even came out to greet us, which was nice. After our cleanings, I asked if any money was due (I knew I'd need to pay out of pocket for flouride), and they said it would be $78, which was $38 for one of us and $40 for me.....no problem....I paid it; but once I got home and looked at the statement, the statement and the line item for flouride said $30 (for one of us...didn't get the statement for myself). I called the Dental office and asked why I was charged $38 when the statement shows $30, and they said "oh, well when something isn't covered by insurance, we default to the 'office charge' (whatever that means??!)". Then I was told that in the future I would need to have each of us call individually (since we're all over 18) to make/handle our own appointments.....I said that no other dentist has required this, and asked "what if I call in and say I'm one of my sons?".....I guess that hit a nerve??.....anyway, I just received a call this morning from the Dentist, and he basically explained the whole "office charge" thing....basically justifying charging $38 for what the statement said was a $30 charge; then he asked, "is it true you asked my receptionist about calling in and saying I'm one of my sons to make appointments?"....I responded "yes". The Dentist was actually very rude on the phone....he said I would be getting a letter shortly about the issue and promptly hung up on me. An hour later I received an email letter saying we were no longer welcome as patients!! Wow!....they over-bill me, then 'fire' me, all over what amounts to about $24 ($8 each for me and my sons).....I've been in customer service for a very long time, and this is NOT the way to treat customers/clients. read more

Dr Rahim and staff are outstanding! I had an X-ray done on my teeth back in October because my regular dentist was giving me the run round to trying to fix my pain. Dr Rahim told me that he was pretty sure it was coming from my crown and insisted that I get a root canal. I currently live out the state and was visiting is an office for the day. He made a phone call for me and got me into an office of a colleague so that I could get it done same day. I go the root canal done and let me tell you such great service all around and professional and proficient. I left that day with no pain! I had one more visit to go and that was to replace my crown and he got me in right before he went on vacation. I' m so sad that I cannot bring him and his staff to NC it's going to be hard to find a new office like this one! read more

I've been going to Bloo for several years and have never been disappointed. Dr. Rahim and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very caring in their approach to dentistry. I had two crowns placed at the same time in November 2022. I am still having issues and am constantly in discomfort from these. I believe they were improperly placed and are not seated properly in addition to being too large and bulky for my mouth. (This from a second opinion dentist) They also leak creating numb lips, swelling of mouth, drooling and a lisp which I never had before. I repeatedly asked for help in resolving my issues. I am now going into a year of pain and discomfort with no resolution. I spent well over $20,000 in dental expenses out of pocket (in addition to what insurance paid) for numerous dental procedures at Bloo Dental but to no avail. I have nothing to show for it. I have a mouth full of problems and issues. My bite is off and has been off for close to a year, I am biting my cheeks and tongue when I chew and can only chew for the most part on one side of my mouth. All thanks to the work of Dr. Rahim by not placing my crowns appropriately or helping me with a fix. He refused to replace them (after taking my savings) and now I am forced to live with these issues until I can afford to have them fixed properly by another dentist. I am now also being told that the implant he performed in addition to the two crowns may not have been done correctly and needs to be replaced. He has ruined my mouth. I was in perfect health before going to Bloo Dental and now I am struggling with all kinds of ancillary issues that all started with those crown placements. All Dr. Rahim had to do was replace those crowns that were not fit right and life probably would have been much different. So disappointed, upset and angry. read more

From the very first appointment Dr. Rahim and his staff have been exceptional. Some background - I had recently had Invisalign done but was left with 6 upper teeth which were significantly misshapen due to excessive grinding and there is nothing Invisalign can do for that! I asked the staff of the Orthodontist who they would recommend and the results were unanimous - Bloo Dental and Dr. Rahim. I required 6 porcelain teeth and as a near 60 year old it was a difficult decision - the work is not inexpensive and insurance coverage was out of the question. I decided to go ahead and couldn't be happier with the results - my restored teeth look quite natural and I'm back to eating anything I want. To anyone who is considering Bloo Dental or extensive cosmetic procedures...know that Dr. Rahim is a skilled dentist with a great chair-side manner and I couldn't be happier with my results. read more

Left this practice as I did not appreciate the lack of "chair side" manners from this dentist but it also turns out that a very expensive porcelain crown cracked within a year (and my insurance did not cover the repair done by my new dentist because of recurrence clause) and another chipped tooth did break again, also one year later. Once you walk into the office, you'll wonder if you've entered and upscale lounge or spa. As my son uttered as we walked in - "wow, this place is coooollll!" (I'm sure the upcoming installation of an XBOX in the kids waiting room will only take it further ...). Alas, I didn't come for the decor but was moved to visit Bloo because it was close to home and had gotten some positive reviews from neighbors. That, and my teeth needed some much needed TLC. From the front desk, to the technicians all the way to Dr. Rahim it was an excellent experience. While I don't have an irrational fear of dentists, the thought of needles and drills in my mouth doesn't do anything good for my blood pressure. Thankfully, Dr. Rahim and team were patient, educational and made sure that I was comfortable during my cleaning and (dammit!) my fillings. I'd recommend Bloo to anyone. read more

Prior to visiting Bloo, I was traumatized by my jaw locking at a practice in another state (something I have to live with during dental work), and no one at that practice showed compassion for my experience. To add insult to injury, they filled my cavities wrong, and something came dislodged. I had to return for them to fix it, another jaw lock, and I was charged for that visit. I hadn't been to a dentist in five years from that last experience. Bloo Dental showed me what a dental team should be. After my first visit (consultation), Dr Rahim spent time actually getting to know me and immediately recognized I was a high-anxiety patient from my past experience. The team worked together and have successfully removed my anxiety. They know who I am when I walk in, and actually care about me as a patient. They each spend time to get to know you and every person on that team is absolutely fantastic. I am always asked how I am doing, and given a lot of breaks during dental procedures. They recommend all options to me, and answer all of my questions with compassion and understanding. I really wish every medical practice could model Bloo's dedication to customer service, but sadly that is rarely the case. I couldn't give this practice enough stars to show my gratitude for turning my anxiety of oral care around to a positive experience. read more

I've been going to Bloo-Dental since they opened. They always seem to be on the cutting edge of dental technology (which equates to emphasis on patient comfort). The Dr. and staff are all uber friendly, and really take time to explain any questions you have / work you need to have done. Even if you fear the dentist, or haven't been to one in a long time, the team at Bloo doesn't judge, but works hard to put you at ease! If your scared or anxious from dentists go to Dr. Rahim!! My Upper jaw was broken 39 years ago because I had an open bite. My upper palate was broken from a Softball accident 26 years ago. Six front top teeth were dead and one fell out. I became a patient of Dr. Rahim when he was at The Dental Arts Center 24 years ago in Reston! He's fabulous keeping up with new dental inventions too. I'm so glad he's at Brambleton now because he's closer. I hope he never retires because I will go to him forever:) He's the best dentist! if you value your teeth and want what is the best for them, rather than what an insurance company says is good enough... go here. I get a consultation if the Dr feels I might need work that is not covered and we decide which way to go. I am willing to pay out of pocket to get what my teeth need, i am not old enough to not worry about my teeth "down the road"... I want my teeth. this place is super relaxing, super clean! modern! friendly staff! gentle cleanings and you can ask for gas if you need that, they have headsets, massage recliners (yes, i take a well needed nap while i am there! ) the Dr is very caring and friendly. Dr Rahim takes the time, speaks clearly to you so you know what he is telling you about and makes sure you know and fully understand what he is suggesting you do next. when I first went in my teeth were messed up by a dentist in one of those corporate set ups... he fixed the issues, filled the cavities on the right teeth and later on he even got my insurance to pay for a poorly fitted crown another dentist had done! i loved that. my teeth are healthy and clean! thank you thank you thank you! read more

This office is beautiful and the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating overall, but I was not impressed by Dr Rahim's chairside manner. I had not been to the dentist in a long time and came in with a toothache. I knew that I probably had a lot of issues to fix due to the length of time I had gone without a dental checkup. I chose this office because of reviews stating they are good with patients in that situation. Unfortunately I did not feel like I had a positive experience when I left. Dr Rahim was incredibly friendly in the beginning but after reviewing my xrays his friendly demeanor seemed to have changed and he was very short with me. I left the office feeling very stressed and worried about my teeth until I consulted with someone else. In short I would love to continue going here for the convenient location, beautiful ambience, and friendly staff, but think I will switch to another dentist who makes me feel more comfortable. read more

I have been a patient of Bloo Dental for a few years now, and this is by far the best dental office I've been to and definitely the most beautiful office! Dr. Rahim is an excellent dentist whose main priority is making sure his patients are comfortable. I had a cracked tooth a few weeks back, and they were able to squeeze me in for a last minute appointment. My appointment went smooth and best thing is they have an IPod so you can listen to music while you're getting dental work done, makes the time go by fast. EXCELLENT - best dental office around. Dr. Rahim is top notch and makes every patient feel like family. He quickly learned my history and my anxiety at the dentist office and took measures at every turn to make me feel less stressed and make my experience amazing. Before my procedure.. i was in awe when I walked in his office and went into reporter mode asking about every piece of equipment. It doesn't just look high tech and fancy.. they have the latest equipment and best technology around. I love that you can get a crown in a day. You don't have to make yet another appointment, stress about childcare etc.. it's all done in one day... AND there's a great play area if you do need to bring your kids!! Kid area is great! Our son is 5 years old and he has so much anxiety going to the dentist as well and I wish i had a video of him running down the hall to go into Bloo Dental. it's like family. And.. the care goes beyond just keeping the teeth clean. Our son has a snoring issue and reverse oral motor thrust and needs additional care and Dr. Rahim gave us amazing referrals and helped us at every turn to put us at ease and give us a game plan so we can correct the issue.. (Dr. Kravitz is amazing too for the ortho care ) Dr. Rahim was truly so committed to our son's care and his plan. I feel so much better about it. Honestly and great professional work. There were times I suggested or asked for a specific service and if it wasn't needed.. he said.. you don't need it rather than just adding another charge. That means a lot to a patient. In fact, my sister lives in ATL and was so in awe of Bloo Dental.. she now sees Dr. Rahim when she visits. (her dentist told her she needed numerous services that were either not necessary or on the wrong tooth--I need an emoji for that!) but Dr. Rahim saved the day and got her in on her visit and fixed the problem... again.. crown in just ONE day. read more

I was at a loss when my dentist retired 3 years ago. My daughter's orthodontist recommended Dr. Rahim, and I was so glad she did! They did a good job decorating, but when it comes down to service they are awful. What is the point of scheduling an appointment if they are going to take an hour anyways? As for the actual dental work, I got none. A woman who looked younger than my daughter brought me over to some high-tech machine to x-ray my mouth and sat me in one of the dental rooms. Half an hour later the dentist finally came in and told me he wasn't able to fix my problem and directed me to a specialist in Reston. Worst part is they charged me $80 out of pocket (I have full coverage insurance) for their fancy new x-ray machine a month later. read more

Here's my story: My teeth are trash and I was born with barely any enamel. I'm a teacher in Loudoun County, which obviously, in my profession, I make a significant amount less compared to other professions in the county but I have "full benefits". I do my best to be a good person and stay on top of things, such as my teeth. I've had plenty of work done to my teeth and for the most part, it usually comes out well. However, I was influenced to get my wisdom teeth out asap, which I didn't feel like was a dire need. They failed to mention that most of my max benefits were out because of all the work that they did to me i.e. root canal, crown etc.. I got my wisdom teeth out as advised and TWO YEARS LATER, I was sent a statement in the mail of an amount of $1800+ that I OWED. There are multiple people to blame here, including myself, Dr. Bahtia, Delta Dental, Signa etc... But it comes down to this, I don't work at a dentistry and am not aware of how much everything typically cost for my insurance but it sure would have been nice if Bloo Dental told me that my max was almost up. I could of easily waited the next following year to get them out and have all my benefits pay for it.... Thanks for looking out for your patients. this is truly as good as it gets. I had an old crown go bad on me (it didnt fit well and got infected) and they fixed it the same day! no more 2 weeks with a temporary that falls off and abscesses like the last one! perfect fit (its exactly the same as your tooth they are replacing) nothing to get used to. staff is very friendly and helpful. if you have a problem, just call them and explain it, I know they can fix it for you. wonderful children's area too. very clean and calming offices. new equipment. what more can you ask for? read more

I had some old dental work that needed to be replaced with a crown. My previous dentist in NC used a technology called CEREC. I found a new dentist in VA that used the same - Dr. Rahim. CEREC allows for a 1 appointment crown. No more temp crowns with the hope that the permanent will fit after waiting 3 weeks. The new crown is milling and completed on site. Mine fits perfectly! The color matches - you can't tell it isn't my tooth. Dr. Rahim and his team made sure I was comfortable (which I totally was) and well taken care of. No one wants major dental work and I take mine very seriously. I have a few CEREC crowns now and will always make the choice. Granted, I hope this was my last one! read more

FIND A DIFFERENT DENTIST!!! More than a year ago, I had a crown done by one of Dr. Rahim's associates. The crown cracked two days later. To Dr. Rahim's credit he did attempt to save the crown but ended up extracting the tooth. Afterward I received numerous calls from his associate offering to insert an implant and even offered to give me a discount...Fishy??? I decided to pass, one botched job is all i can handle. Fast forward to Feb 2018, received a bill for $102.90. I called the office and the bill was for the amount my insurance didn't cover. Yes, the botched job!!! I asked why i had to pay considering the circumstance, the Dr.'s reply, "He extracted a different tooth." Now, I'm certain that either Dr. Rahim doesn't take accurate notes or he's In Cahoots with his associate. I paid the bill since I don't want my credit ruined...PLEASE, don't let my payment be in vain....FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!! read more
