This was by far the absolute worst dental office that I have ever been to. If you've ever watched…read morethe Stepford Wives then going to this dental office will give you flash backs. The entire staff speaks in this exceedingly nice tone, but grumbles under their breath especially the front desk office manager. She has a horrible attitude. The doctor himself, Dr. Allegretti, could give a rats behind about your teeth. All he cares about is how much money he could make off of you. He's rude when you question what he suggests for your teeth. A few people that I spoke with felt the same way about him and never went back after their first procedure. The only thing that was nice was all of the free tolietry in the bathroom. But who needs that after you just dropped $500 for a procedure that you didn't even need.

Dr. Allegretti, who has moved his practice to Provincetown, MA since 2007, is by far the BEST…read moredental office I've ever been to. Pros: 1.) Teaching dentist He explains everything about what is going on with your teeth, and is always willing to discuss your options with you. He takes the time you need to decide. No pressure or on-the-spot decisions. 2.) Technology and hygiene The technology and hygiene in this office is exceptional. I've moved from the area and have yet to find as good a practice. All-white, mercury- and metal-free fillings and crowns that are stronger than amalgam. Everything is clean, the technology is cutting edge, and the doctor takes the time to ensure your oral hygiene throughout your procedure is impeccable (rubber dams for all possible fillings). This kind of attention is rare because it makes the job take longer -- so, the doctor can make less money on you (more time per appointment = fewer appointments per day). 3.) Skilled doctor This is a dentist who is really an artist. All of the work he did on my teeth was beautiful and has stayed so (11 fillings, 18 months ago, you'd never know it). I've seen dentists since who didn't even realize I had all of those fillings until they x-rayed, they were done so well. Really high level of expertise and skill. 4.) Attentive staff that makes sure you are Pain-Free A completely painless experience. Dr. Allegretti and his dental assistant (always has one) ensures that you are comfortable throughout your visit. Totally numb. They really pay attention to your comfort level. Before I saw Dr. Allegretti, I thought I had a good dentist. I never had dental anxiety. I went for yearly checkups and regular cleanings every six months. So I'm not one of these people who was always afraid of the dentist, and didn't go. I'm one of the people who has ALWAYS gone. Even when I moved to the Cape, I still saw the same guy I'd always seen, every six months or so when I went home to see family. I started seeing Allegretti because I needed a second opinion on a tooth whose root canal was unsuccessful. I didn't know if I had cracked the tooth or what, so a friend recommended giving him a try (that friend was a former dental-anxiety person whose experience with Dr. Allegretti improved the way he felt about dentists). Wow what a difference! Besides all the things I already wrote, which stood out in stark contrast to my previous experience, I discovered that because my old dentist had always used the probe (the metal hook thing) to test for cavities, he had missed a bunch. Dr. Allegretti uses this tool to test for cavities that is basically a bone density scan. It's so precise. What I didn't know about cavities is that they very often start under the surface of your teeth, underneath the enamel, and can't be confirmed with the probe until they've come up to the surface so to speak, and are quite large. If you catch them early, they're little and not a big deal. Many of my little cavities were filled for much less money than fillings usually cost -- I mean in the $100-200 range -- because they weren't that bad yet. I will never see another dentist that doesn't use that tool. Even if you are happy with your current dentist, if you are anywhere near Dr. Allegretti I would give him a try for your next regular checkup and cleaning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We showed up for the consultation appointment and waited for almost an hour to be seen; when we go back, the dentist was looking at 2 yr old xrays and I had to point that fact out to him because he couldn't read the date...which i though was kind of a red flag, pink it least. So, they do updated xrays and we move forward with the consultation and I schedule an appt to get my sons wisdom teeth removed. The appointment was scheduled more than 30 days out... the evening before the appointment on June 6, 2025, I received a call saying the insurance was still not confirmed and unless i wanted to pay out of pocket, they would have to reschedule the appointment. I asked them to call me back to schedule once they verify insurance. This place NEVER called back. What I have received, 2 billings for $10.93 with no indication why i was billed. I get it it's $10.93, it least its not $110.93. I paid this a month ago because I realize this place is not good and I just want them to go away. Today, August 1, 2025, I received the same billing for $10.93. I called at 330pm on a Friday and the office is closed, but the office hours are listed to be open til 430pm. The point in all this is, don't waste your time with this practice, find a better place for you or your family member to be put under and have someone cutting into your mouths.

I'm not as scared now of the upcoming two dental implants. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

One of my motos is if you always treat people like family you can never go wrong. This kind of treatment will keep clients coming back and referring new potentual clients to his office. Dr. Ghannam and his staff have cultivated a family approach to dentistry that shows up in every corner of his approach to this profession. I feel like he wouldn't recommend anything to me that he wouldn't do for himself or his family. He has always tried to put me at ease by explaining the procedures and answering my many questions over the years. His tecniques shows a well trained young dentist, but his ability to communicate with me proved wisdom far beyond his age. I have spent my intire life in many a dentist chair because having a beautiful smile has always been one of the most important things I could do for my health & my professional appearance. With that being said I am someone who has always been extremely nervous when it comes to sitting in that chair, but the level of care he and his staff have provided for me in his office to ensure my comfort each time I am there is truly extraodinary .He will always have my sincere gratitude and appreciation. I had a number of problems on a recent visit to Springfield Modern Dentistry, where I had a tooth…read moreextracted three months ago. First, the dentist didn't offer clear or thorough instructions about how to care for the affected area following the procedure. He told me to avoid hot food and drinks, not to eat Doritos, and to chew on the other side of my mouth. That was it. He failed to mention, until I had already been home for a few hours, not to spit, even though my mouth would be producing a lot of saliva. I had been spitting, of course, and the healing process was more slow and painful because of this. He didn't mention that my face would be bruised and swollen or that I should use an ice pack right away to prevent the swelling. He didn't mention whether or not I should brush/floss my teeth after surgery, and how to go about doing it. He only wanted to get rid of me as quickly as possible. As he left, he told his assistant to have me x-rayed. She took me to the front desk and said goodbye. I said, "Excuse me, I was supposed to get x-rays,." She scowled at me and brought me back for x-rays. I should mention that she was rude throughout the day. Avoided eye contact, barely spoke, glared at me. Several times during the procedure, when the dentist stepped away, she lightly-to-moderately bumped me in the face with her dental tools. Maybe she did this because she was turning to speak to the dentist, or maybe it was not an accident. I don't know. When she took me back for x-rays, she didn't speak. She was embarrassed that she forgot to have me x-rayed, perhaps. She shoved the x-ray device into my mouth violently, which hurt a great deal, especially since I'd just had surgery. Then she swiveled the x-ray machine around and smacked me in the side of the face with it. Twice. She did not apologize for this. It felt very much like an assault. To say the least, it was not a great experience. I was going to discuss these matters with the dentist during my follow-up, but that's another problem. My original follow-up was, according to the dentist, supposed to be two weeks after the procedure. However, they woman at the front desk scheduled it for three weeks, even after I reminded her what the dentist had said. "Three weeks is fine," the woman at the front desk said. I'm not sure she should be overruling the dentist, but that's how it went. I called to reschedule the follow-up, but no one answered, so I filled out the online form. I received an automated email saying that someone would get back to me very soon. However, no one did. After more than a week, I tried calling back, but again no one answered. Several months went by, but still no one called or emailed. Clearly, Springfield Modern Dentistry is not concerned with my post-op rehabilitation. I eventually told them not to bother scheduling a follow-up because I didn't feel safe there. I notified The Smile Generation--the parent company of Springfield Modern Dentistry--about these problems two months ago, but they have not responded. I sent a follow-up message and was told to be patient. Their lack of a timely response, of any response, shows a pattern of abuse and neglect from the organization. They were informed of a very serious series of problems, but have done nothing and have not bothered to contact me at all (they have my email, phone number and Facebook info). They have not even contacted me to provide post-op instructions, though I informed them two months ago that they had not done so. Moreover, I contacted them before filing a formal complaint with the Dental Board of Virginia, asking for the dental assistant's name, but they would not give it to me, which is quite disturbing. This shows a total lack of concern for their patients' health, safety and well-being. As a side note, I have visited several of their branches and have experienced problems with every one. Clearly, there are systemic problems at the Smile Generation, coming from the management down to the dentists, assistants and assorted staff members. I'm still waiting for a response. I'm sure they will have a lot of excuses and denials for the Dental Board, but, if so, these will be lies. There's no excuse for what they did or how they have chosen to ignore my complaints. They have acted with a lack of ethics, professionalism and basic human decency. I have been very patient, but I will no longer be a patient.

Having an urgent errand, we asked the front desk if we can come back to pick her up after her teeth is cleaned. They said yes, and we left. Long story short, they call us back to say that they can't do anything to her teeth until the guardian/parent is there at the office. If that's the case, why did the front desk tell us that its okay to come back later to pick her up?! If they told us about this while we were at the office, we could have rearranged our plan instead of having our child stay there doing nothing until we come back. Wasting our time, no apology, blaming us for this "miscommunication", this will be our last visit.
