Humboldt bruleed cheese came with peppered arugula and crackers and fig jam and wasn't bad. The mortadella pizza was dry. The crust was not good. Too chewy. It could have benefitted from some hot honey on top to make it pop. Not bad overall but nothing I'd bring anyone to try. The star was the pasta as the pasta here is definitely the best section of the menu. The other food is average or even mediocre compared to how fresh and uniquely flavorful their pasta is. I cannot say enough good things about Scorpacciata. I first visited on Valentine's day, and had such a wonderful dinner I knew I had to bring my parents. My parents drove 2 hours this weekend to visit, and talked about how amazing the meal & our server, Jeremiah was the entire way home. The staff is very attentive, and knowledgable, and truly made us feel comfortable. Our server shared information about how ingredients were locally sourced, and answered all of our questions. When we dined, we ordered from the new spring menu. We got the charred broccoli, which was so unique and refreshing. It had a sweet note to it, which was wonderful. The house meatballs were full of herbs, and were paired with a flavorful red sauce. We also got the mussels, which were awesome! I also enjoyed their cherry bee cocktail, which is gin based, and it was tart, just the way I like them! My favorite dish there is the gnocchi, it is rich and the balsamic notes with the pears are just amazing. I got it on Valentine's day and thought about it ever since! The dessert, tiramisu was a nice way to finish the meal off. As someone who recently moved to the Cleveland area, I know there are a lot of good spots to try, but Scorpacciata truly is the place to be! If you enjoy pizza and pasta, this is an absolute gem. All the pizza is delicious. We came with a group so we tried a couple of pies and we enjoyed the prosciutto, pepperoni and pickled pepper and sausage pizzas. The real star is actually the kale pizza. Even if you are not exactly inspired by veggie options, this is a must try. The combination of the ricotta, the red onions, kale and hot honey plus the sauce is a delightful combination of savory, salt, sweet and spicy. Do not miss this. I have been here more than once so you may not have the opportunity to order the same special, however if they offer the smoked salmon pasta be sure to get it. The sauce was light and creamy with that perfect hint of lemon. My husband ordered the squid ink spaghetti which is a staple for a reason. Terrific pizza and salads, well-made strong drinks, good craft beer selection, semi-casual Italian dining, indoor and outdoor seating, great staff, plenty of parking! Last year at the 2024 Larchmere Porchfest music festival, Scorpaciatta Pasta Company served me a delicious slice of pizza, way better than i expected for festival food. So this year we planned a meal here. We parked in their free lot behind Scorpaciatta on Larchmere and walked into their semi-casual restaurant and bar at 6:30PM on a Friday with no reservation, the day before this year's nearby 2025 music festival (where this year's specials included a great muffuletta, a meatball sub, and two special spiked lemonades, and a live performance!). We got in just before the evening rush, and we were seated immediately, watching the 50-or-so indoor seats and 30-or-so outdoor seats fill pretty quickly, and the 10-seat bar, too. I got there a few minutes before the rest of my party, a bit inconsiderate I admit, and was welcomed promptly and courteously by the friendly attentive hostess and waiter. I ordered my drink off-menu, substituting a milder Americano for the ginned-up better-known Italian Count-Negroni, and the bartender made a delicious strong balanced $14 cocktail, smoothly bitter and slightly sweet and fizzy with a cleverly sculpted orange-peel garnish. My party ordered ice-cold craft beers from their broad list, including several locals and a Fat Head Head-Hunter IPA. We started with an app of slender young whole artichokes, very lightly fried, tender and savory with a roasted garlic aioli dipping sauce, and a sparse tasty sprinkling of pecorino and herbs, maybe parsley and oregano. A delicious treat with just enough to share for four to taste. One of us got a bright arugula goat-cheese salad, cleverly garnished with fresh sweet strawberries and snap-peas and a strawberried mint vinaigrette. We all had a taste of that, too, and envied that choice! We were committed to two hearty pizzas, 12-slices with a barely-charred crunchy thin and puffy-edged crust. It was sturdy enough to eat flat, and supple enough to fold New-York-style. One was the sizzly pepperoni-topped basil-seasoned cheese and Marzano-tomato-sauce pizza, and the other was their rich "sauceless" spring-mushroom pizza with plenty of fresh flavorful northeast-Ohio mushrooms, dense not-too-salty Kalamata olives, and a thick house-made tomato-jam instead of a wet sauce. There are additional creative apps, pastas, salads, cocktails, and N/A cocktails on their menu, too, as well as a nice selection of wines and spirits. We shared another round of drinks, and we could not finish the delicious pizzas without taking some home. Food and drink were ample and delicious. Staff is courteous and attentive and quick. The tables and bar area are comfortable and clean. This is a nice restaurant and bar, not a pizza dive. It's a good destination for very good food and drink. read more

This place was decent, but a bit overpriced for what we got. Our meal for four came to about $174 (without tip). The pasta was good, but the pizza was overwhelmingly salty--almost like it had been soaked in salt water. Portion sizes were reasonable for the price. The staff was friendly, but the atmosphere was loud. The table behind us was uncomfortably close and very noisy. It also felt stuffy inside, as the air conditioning didn't seem to be on, and only two windows were open, which didn't help much given the humidity from earlier rain. Service had some issues--our server partially spilled our Manhattan and didn't offer a refill, despite the drink costing $16. This I had a similar experience around Thanksgiving. My daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter were visiting from Connecticut, and we decided to dine out at a local restaurant. Given my proximity to Shaker Square, I walked to the establishment and arrived ahead of my family. As a 6 feet four, 250-pound individual, I didn't anticipate encountering any issues related to racism. However, upon entering the nearly empty restaurant, I was approached by a woman of color, likely the hostess, who inquired about my presence. I informed her that I had a reservation under a specific name, which she verified before offering to seat me. I requested a location that would accommodate our party of four, including a two-year-old, and minimize distractions. The hostess suggested a booth near the front, but I opted for a quieter area in the back. She claimed that section was reserved for a 5:30 PM booking, despite my reservation being made nearly 24 hours in advance. I found it peculiar that the hostess didn't attempt to accommodate my request, given the restaurant's emptiness. Ambiance is nice and it's a cute space- female greeter was professional and polite. We were sat at a high top table by the bar tight in the corner and tiny bugs from the herbs that hung in the wall swarmed our table attracted by my wine. Service with a young man name started with "j" started out fine but we were never checked on and had a hard time getting our server back for the check. He took our order and we never saw him again. I would have liked another glass of wine and salt and pepper. It was very busy and we were ready to leave . I ordered the chicken with spinach sweet potato risotto with goat cheese and I was not a fan of the flavors. It did not work for me. My friend liked his meal. Came here for the first time and grabbed a tall table at the bar at 745 on a Saturday night. The place was jammed but thinned out over the course of the night. They were only selling by the slice. $5 for cheese and $6 for pepperoni slices. $7 for special (kale). I asked if they could make me a fresh pizza and pay by the pan. They declined. Although they had the dough and ingredients right in front of me, I ordered slices to make a full pie as I had 4 kids starving at the rock gym across the street waiting to eat. I asked if the pizza was from that day, as it didn't really look fresh/ what I usually see when I order their pizza. The service lady said, "yes it was from that day." After paying $68 (cause I had to pay by sliced for 2 pizzas) and eating it with my kids across the street at the gym, I realized I made a huge mistake spending money on it. It was cold and old pizza. Not worth the money at all. Total waist. We didn't even finish the pizza because it was wax like. Horrible price for an old product. They should let you order a full pizza and pay for the pan if they have it regardless if it's the holidays. I hope they don't carry this service over to their Larchmere restaurant. The combo of toppings were unique but paired so well together. The pizza came out piping hot. It was also such a cool location for a ghost kitchen - they used the diner space of rising star coffee. I really wanted to love this new restaurant on Larchmere. Unfortunately the food is just not that good. Italian food is a blend of subtle seasonings. The few times I've been there my choices are so highly seasoned it is worse than Olive Garden and that is pretty bad. A little bit of herbs/seasoning goes a long way. I've been to Italy more than 20 times and the version of Italian food here is not real Italian. I think it is what Americans think Italian food is supposed to taste like. Van Aken's Market Hall is such a lovely place to visit and this is a good place to stop of a bite inside. There's ample cozy seating around the edges of the hall to take a shopping snack break at. This little pizza stall in the center of the hall serves various lovely thin crust pizzas made fresh for you in about 20 minutes! They also have a sister stall for pasta a few steps away. We got a meatball pizza which was good but nothing to text home about. The thin crust was crispy and the sauce flavorful. There's not a lot of cheese on the thing though the ingredients tasted fresh. I tried the orecchiette pasta which was well done and salty with olives. The anchovy intrigued me when I saw it on the menu and I found the flavor to be lightly fishy and not too severe if anyone was afraid to try it! It's a decent staple restaurant in the square but I'm excited to try other stands the next time I go! read more

We did not wait long for our server which was nice but that was the last of the good service. Our server "J" took our drink and appetizers order, then walked away. Then after a brief absence returned and took our dinner order. We ordered a pizza, gnocchi, and two ordered salads as dinners (4 people). Then the dinner salads came out before the appetizer. We made mention of it and we got an excuse after excuse. We mentioned they ordered the salad when he asked for dinner orders. Should not have come out then and got more excuses. It took forever for appetizers to show up. Then dinner showed up and the server had to be asked several times to clear the dirty plates. We asked for a few items and he never brought them. At one point I went in to get my own straw. The gnocchi was delicious, the pizza was mediocre at best. The salads were just okay. The new look of the inside and the new patio were the only pluses. Located inside the Van Aken Marketplace, this is a must try. Their menu is not typical, which is a welcome change for me. All staff were friendly and knowledgable. They give you a vibrating device with your order number programmed into it while they prepare your order. The pasta was cooked to the perfect doneness. Everything was super fresh. I opted for the puttanesca. So many flavors were bouncing off this dish. They all played nice together, with each complimenting the next. I was worried the Calabrian Chiles would take over. This is a pretty cute little spot inside the Van Aken market hall. I'm a sucker for pasta so obviously had to check this place out. The menu selection is small but has a bit of everything including beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and stuff for the veggie people. Given that their menu was so small, it was a little surprising that they were out of about 25% of their items so early into the evening at 630pm just at the start of dinner time. They have an option to add on whatever protein you want for a not so insignificant price but they were out of chicken as well so had to go the vegetarian route. I ordered the gnocchi which was delicious- the ingredients were super fresh and there were some really unique flavors added in (ie apple) which created another dimension to the dish. The downside is that the portion size was fairly small given the price, and especially given the more casual location. Overall, the service was great and the food is good, if they're not out of what you want. Definitely expect to pay a bit more than what'd you'd expect from a casual Italian spot. read more
