This place needs to be gutted and burned down. There were flies and gnats at the bar and on the TV s and trash behind the bar on the floor from the night before. It felt like we were in a dungeon. The food was NASTY! Just..ewwww. Cold chicken wings, gross nachos. I noticed the bartender didn't ask the little girl next to me for her ID. I actually told the bartender all of this and he gave me 15% off...it should have been 100% free. read more

My wife and I were set to catch a show at 7:30pm at the nearby Michigan Theater. We show up to Scorekeepers at 6:00pm, figuring that almost an hour and a half is more than enough time to get some beers and food (I mean, it's pub food for goodness sake). Here's the timeline: 6pm: Sit down at table 6:15pm: Waitress shows up, asks if we want anything (doesn't offer menus, we have to ask). We order some drinks. 6:40pm: Drinks show up. We order dinner. A salad, chips and salsa, and a chicken pita wrap. Only one of these items requires heat or effort. We stress that we have a 7:30 show (and try not to act too upset that we have waited 40 minutes for both beers and the ability to order). 7:13pm: I hunt down the waitress and give her my credit card and tell her to bring the bill with the food because I won't be able to get out in time if I don't close out now. 7:20pm: Food arrives. The 2 stars is because the food was actually decent. The funny thing is, I didn't even get what I ordered (asked for chicken, recieved some soy garden burger thing) but at that point I didn't care. I realize that they were not anticipating the crowd (apparently, everyone else had the same idea, because the place cleared out right at 7:28pm). BUT... if you are literally a stone's throw from a 1700 person theater, it would be a reasonable thing for the manager to take a look at the theaters's website (or just read the marquee) and make sure there aren't any big headliners prior to making the staff schedule for the week. I honestly felt bad for our waitress. She was literally running around like a mad dash. They were clearly understaffed due to a lack of thought by the management, so I left her a great tip, as I realize that she was the one who got screwed. If I wasn't rushed, and they had anticipated a crowd, I can imagine that it would be a reasonably good experience. It was cheap, and a fun atmosphere. Will go back and re-review. read more

We were here on a Friday night in January and I was definitely underwhelmed by this place. We had a Groupon which included two meals-- we got burgers which were just okay. This place turns into a dance club at 11 or so. They were taking out chairs and tables the entire time we were there to make room for the dancing kiddos. When I was in undergrad Skeep's was THE Thursday night place. I can't speak to the food or anything during the day but on Thursday nights it didn't get any better. My friends and I would get there early and commandeer the same table behind/under the dance floor and dance all night long. There's always some beer/drink special going on so you can get ridiculously wasted for $10 or so dollars. If i ever burned through a $20 it was a baaaaad night. I have nothing but fond memories...unfortunately I'm a little too old now :( read more

Scorekeepers is infamous for its Thursday night $1 Long Islands $2.50 pitcher specials. The place is dark and grungy, perfect for horny college students to make out in the corner of the tightly packed dance floor. The Bar draws in a young crowd (18-22....yes minors, very easy on ID's) except for large sporting events earlier in the day. read more

It is laughable that this is called a "sports bar". I went here for the NFL opening Sunday with a friend to watch a couple games. We only picked scorekeepers because every other bar was packed, yet this place was close to empty. I can't fault them on the number of tv's they have, they have plenty. The issue was they were only showing three of the games, even though several of the TV's right next to each other were showing duplicate games. When I requested a game, they said they were working on it. Fifteen minutes later when I asked again they unapologetically said they couldn't do it. I don't know if they are incompetent or just lazy. We ended up going to Connor O'Neils, even though they are not a sports bar, they changed a few tv's for us no problem. read more

The business school has a weekly happy hour at Skeeps, Thursdays, 7-9pm. This IMHO is the only reason to set foot in the place. After 9pm it was crawling with folks who I am fairly certain were underage, and drunk before they walked into the door. That said ... drinks are weak but cheap ($3 rail), bartenders are reasonably responsive, floor space is great -- except in winter, in which case everyone huddles around the bar because the cavernous back can be freezing (not sure what they have against indoor heating). As a sports bar, definitely lacking. Although there are a number of televisions, they are never turned to anything halfway decent, there's never any place to sit down, and most of all (worst of all) no one ever seems to go to Skeeps to actually *watch* a game. In fact, when you do try to watch, most of the underage crowd looks gets fiesty and does oh-so-amusing stuff like clumping up in front of the screen to block your view. read more

The place is what it is, you cant really go in here and expect anything better. Big time college bar so i'm sure its a lot of fun for college students looking to get wasted. Great drink specials, when we were there it was 5 dollar pitchers of miller lite, that is the kind of price I expect in a place like that. Service was very slow, a lot of the people at the bar order just simple pitchers or pints and they were taking their sweet time getting it done. I imagine a lot of people have fun here because they are drunk, not because scorekeepers is a fun place. This is a good dive for some cheep beer after a week day game of kickball with your friends or something but I would avoid this place during a game or any time it is busy plenty of better places to drink in Ann Arbor. If your aware of this going in its not awful its just not that great, but I would never suggest going here and will only go if forced by a larger group. read more

Fun college bar! You do have to pay a cover which isn't great, however, the drinks are cheap and ok. It is what it is.

I ordered a beer on draft, took the guy forever to get it to me. Once I tasted it, I immediately noticed that it was off. I let it warm up and tasted again and it literally tasted like someone had sh*t in my beer. I sent it back and the guy said "oh yeah, we haven't used these pipes for a while, I flushed with three pitchers and I thought that would be enough." Turns out these pipes had been sitting with beer in them at room temperature for who knows how long, and he didn't even use soap or chemicals to clean it out before serving it to me. I was served a bacteria milkshake. Three hours later I had explosive diarrhea. Next day woke up with swollen tonsils and a killer headache. Would never walk in the door again!!!! read more

On fairly busy bar nights, don't bother trying to get in unless you enjoy lying, cutting, being rude and dressing incredibly skanky - because apparently that's what gets you in front of the line. No control of the lines at all. Standing in line as an honest person who doesn't believe in cutting, I saw countless people cutting and the bouncers barely glanced at them. The worst part was what the bouncers were actually doing - never have I heard such horrible, misogynistic comments about several girls from any person ever. Absolutely disgusting. Never, ever will I attempt this place again, and no one else should if you are a decent human being. read more

I've been to Skeeps several times, but last night was a combination of frat boys and sorostitutes celebrating St. Patty's and some kind of business school event I think, since a whole busload of guys in suits was there. I am neither a sorostitute nor a b-school attendee, but I know some people who work there and can get me cheap drinks, so there I was. I'm pretty sure there were about 500 people there, and I'm really not exaggerating. It was so crowded and hot, you had to push through people to get anywhere, and it definitely made me claustrophobic, big-time. With all the stairs and levels in the place, my drunken self kept thinking if there was a fire, we'd all be goners. At about 1:15, I frantically escaped, desperately needing fresh air and NYPD bbq chicken pizza. They have cheap personal pitchers and good specials, though my personal pitcher gin-and-tonic seemed to have a very high ratio of tonic water and ice to the gin. This points to a key aspect of Skeeps: don't go here if drinking an entire pitcher of alcohol by yourself seems odd or maybe unsafe. Do go if you like to get puking-drunk, like to feel cheap, or like to watch UM Greek's finest do what they do best. read more

Went there using a coupon before a basketball game and you get what you pay for. The nachos were big but not tasty (no meat cheese etc.) and the burger and BQ were below average. This is not a place you go to eat. Drink and watch sports maybe but not for dinner. Go someplace else to eat. read more

never coming back, waited first in line for two hours while ugly acne faced underaged girls got in without being carded. the staff are rude and inconsiderate. while in line me and my friends were trying to get out because the rope was cutting us in half, i tried to undo the rope since nobody wanted to wait another minute in that line and a rude lady didn't care that we were being hurt and tried to keep me from freeing myself from the dungeon. me and my friends ended up with rope burns. this place is a safety concern and only lets in "athletes" and underaged kids. this place should be condemned. read more
