If you don't get a table at Stick's it can be kind of hard to know what is going on. I sat at the bar a few times and it took 10 minutes to get served, while people coming up to the bar were getting served right away. Drinks are usually pretty strong and decently priced. Pretty cozy spot. Cheap drinks, great place to hang out, play pool and shoot the breeze. Staff was definitely super friendly. Only critique I have is maybe some upkeep on the pool sticks,, most of them was definitely not straight. Some have tips that are inop. Also the lack of chalk, makes the tip slip off on technical shots. Would've given a 4 star if it wasn't for that. I'd definitely chill here again if given the chance. I wasn't impressed with the beer selection at Cultivate across the street so a friend suggested we try Sticks instead. Sticks is a bar/pool hall located above Aubree's in Ypsi. The place is outdated and worn for sure, but the bartender and servers were all pretty friendly. We got lucky to catch trivia (Thursdays), which is always a blast even though we came in last place. Sticks has a decent selection of beers on tap. I went with an Angry Orchard, which was $6 for a 20oz. Not bad. We eventually got the munchies so I ordered a basket of fries. The fries were slightly seasoned and served in a generous portion, and were very fresh. There's a back room with a few pool tables and shuffleboards. I'm not sure how much it costs to play but it's always nice to know where the pool halls are. I really dug the service and great drink prices. I'll definitely keep Sticks on my radar for drinks when in Ypsi. read more

NOT HAPPY 1. They charge $10 an hour for pool but never monitor the pool tables 2. Their closing time is 2am like most bars but they never give you a warning, they just turn off the lights. 3. I ordered an Uber, he cancelled my ride 1 min after him arriving, which is not this bar's fault. However, I tried to explain the situation to the employees while they were closing and they kicked us out anyway. This situation would make sense if they were actually leaving. My friends and I, after experiencing an Uber mixup, were trying to stay warm near their exit doors (which none of the employees were working near). Yet, we were still kicked out + flicked off, even after explaining our situation. They didn't care! Very disappointed given the fact that the manager was still in the facility. Cheap beer, free shuffleboard, and old saloon style? I think we just found our new regular spot in Depot Town! The happy hour deal for domestics is a steal. $2.50 for a big Miller Lite...wow! Plus the Feta Bread was amazing. I've never had anything like it but I will definitely be indulging regularly. 5 stars for being a comfortable dive-ish bar with a great atmosphere, good people, fantastic prices, and a cool location. read more

Located above Aubree's restaurant in Depot Town, this is basically a well-worn bar with a few pool tables in a small space off to the side of the main bar. To reach it, you must first navigate a very narrow, pretty steep stairway just inside the front door of the restaurant. For a group, this is a pretty good place to meet up because mutiple tables can be pulled together and no one cares if you are loud and and, shall we say, boisterous. However, the service was a mixed bag. Bar service was fine, but table service was good for some, not so much for others in our group. Some of us waited so long after arriving for our first drink order to be taken that we stepped up to the bar and got our own drinks. Which seemed to irritate our table server. Who then said she could serve my husband and I but not add to our bar tab. Which is understandable, but how she said it, not what she said, then irritated me! Although my interaction with her the rest of the night was limited (my choice), her service remained unimpressive (my opinion). Food and drinks are fine, pool tables are in rough shape. This is one of the only places in AA/Ypsi to play pool on a table that isn't a pay-per-game table. Unfortunately, the tables haven't been refurbed in years. They used to have 3 tables, but now only have 2. One of the two tables is very un-level -- I'm far from a pro player, but it was really frustrating. The other table is in better shape, but the felt is dirty on both, there are broken pocket liners, and the tables are "leveled" with stacked coasters (which means a hard lean can shift them). I'd love to spend money here, but paying by the hour to play on tables like that isn't a great deal. read more

It upsets me to have to write this review because I have been a long time patron of both Sticks and Aubrees but I had the most unpleasant experience there this evening. My boyfriend and I went to play pool and have dinner, we were two of six total people there due to the winter storm. The music that was playing was vulgar, and by that I mean degrading to women, rapping about strippers, going to get high, calling women not so nice names,the "n" word repeatedly, swearing... I nicely asked the bartender if she would not mind changing it and she said ok, and we requested something more upbeat. Within a few minutes the same degrading music was just turned up louder. I'm a very hip outgoing music lover and this stuff was raunchy. We ate quick and left... I don't want to eat at an establishment when I not only feel like I don't matter but they would promote music that is so inappropriate and degrading. read more
