This was my third time at Scopa and it was fantastic as usual! My friend and I were seated in the newly enclosed area in the back, right by the window, which was perfect since the sun was about to set. Our meal was delicious, we had eggplant rollatini for an appetizer, I had the seared scallops, which were so tender and yummy! Our server Toni was an absolute doll, very friendly and helpful with any menu questions we had. She was attentive but not overbearing, she did not hover over us during our dinner. Scopa is a cute place, however, i dined there for Easter and ordered a RACK of lamb (on special menu) i got two lamb chops, i called the waitress over and asked why only two she said it is actually 4. Very Very disappointed and misleading. I have ordered racks of lambs before and a rack should at least be 8 chops. we also ordered the orecchiette pasta dish which was very over seasoned. First time visit to Scopa last week based on a friend's recommendation. Pros: Cozy atmosphere, well decorated. Smaller place, but pleasant atmosphere. Food was very good. Menu is small, but with some variety so you should find something for anyone in your party. Cons: Service was just ok. Place was pretty empty when we arrived, but quickly filled up. We noticed only after we already ate our appetizer that all the other tables were promptly given a basket of bread, and we were not. Had to request one with our dinners, since no one came over until then. Drinks were not refilled until we chased down the server, which was a challenge. No one checked in after the dinners were served (hence no awareness that we needed a drink refill. ) Overall jury is out on a return visit. read more

This was 2nd time here and I was not impresses. Very small space even with outside seating. The place was full. The service was friendly but slow. It took a half hour to get our drink order and the 2nd drink did not come until we were finished. I ordered bolognese? The ravioli was good and sauce taste but it was really a meat sauce not what you would expect for bolognese. Inside is very noisy and hard to talk. Outside more spacious but was chilly. This was our first time at Scopa's on a Sunday night. The restaurant itself is newly renovated with a nice view of the nearby estuary. Our server, Tatiana was excellent and gave us the time to settle in. the calamari was plentiful and tasty. As a new restaurant, I think they are working out the kinks. My wife's seafood Del Mar was soupy and short of pasta; my raviolis were very good with a nice marinara sauce. The cocktail and wine menu seemed limited but the choices were fine. I Ordered the scopa haddock with no capers. The dish comes out with capers. I tried the food and it was very salty. I told the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen and they brought the dish out minutes later. They took the capers off of the food and gave me the same food as you could see from where I took the bite. It was not good. Not impress. Went to Scopa last night with a few friends. Heard some great things about this new restaurant in town. It lived up to the hype. Our table was outside on the deck great spot overlooking the river as the sun was setting. Juan was our server he was fantastic,there were 10 of us and he did a great job of getting us everything we wanted We ordered several appetizers including the Fried calamari and Prosciutto Rollatini. The bread came out with a pesto dipping sauce and was fantastic. My wife had the Linguine and mussels and I tried the Seafood Risotto both were outstanding. We all had a limoncello shot after the meal and the owner stopped by to say hi and offered us a few desserts to try afterwards as well. All in all it was a very good experience. Going to an "Italian" restaurant in Lynn was my first mistake! The place is has a bunch of low class locals from Lynn and the food is about Italian as the olive garden! Scopa haddock was supposed to come with risotto, but instead got plain watery white rice! For dinner, my partner had the carbonara and I had the orecchiette with sausage. Both tasted fantastic and the portions were generous. This was delicious! We sat at the bar and the ambiance was nice for our date night. The bartenders were very attentive. We had muscles (ask for the chefs special sauce- yum!), fried calamari which was fried perfectly and caprese which had a nice flavorful twist. With too many tables crammed into a small space. Even high tops jammed in behind bar seats, making that area very tight. But you eat out for the food, right? Well take a pass on this place. You can get way better Italian at 20 places within ten miles. Eggplant app swimming in so much cheese it was drooling off the plate. And the eggplant was flavorless and mushy. Salad was weirdly chopped, stem and all. Also covered in two kinds of parm, shaved and grated. Which is weird and just made for a dry salad. One entree was clearly microwaved - burning hot - in a very oily sauce. Another entree had so much lemon you could barely taste anything else. And the risotto, as mentioned on another post here, is NOT risotto. It was undercooked, flavorless plain rice. I'd be surprised if this place remained open for another 6 months. read more
