Just as I thought the metro was over-saturated with national chain drive-thru beverage shops, along comes 151 Coffee out of Texas to compete with Starbucks, Scooters, Dunkin, Dutch Bros, 7 Brew.... With their "It's a Good Day to Have a Good Day" mantra and loud pop music emanating from the wide open assembly line / drink factory space, they certainly try to replace the stress of upper middle-class suburban life with some cute empowerment phrases on their cups when they hand you your caffeinated concoction of syrup, frothed milk and espresso. Even though my "Snickers" hot drink was actually made with chocolate milk and was tasty and the 2 young staff members were polite, I just wanted to get out of their as fast as I could. Next time I'm in that area, I'll head a few blocks north and actually order from a barista at the counter at Homers or Parisi and get a real coffee shop vibe and not be forced to write a such a snarky review and where having a good day is more organic and less of a demand.

The beans were ground fresh for me. I love French Vanilla coffee, but it's not my wife's favorite. So it was nice to be able to get a cup and enjoy it. I also ordered biscuits and gravy and a glass of milk, which were very tasty. I brought my wife home a cinnamon roll which she enjoyed. She said it was good. The front of the house is pretty bustling and lively. At the back of the restaurant, there's a quieter room and outdoor dining on the patio. I will definitely be returning to this location. Today I picked the Maple Blueberry Pancake and it too is delicious. It's a latte with blueberry on the bottom, milk, latte, cold foam and maple sprinkles. It does not have an overwhelming maple flavor and I almost wish it had more. The service here is always great and they have tons of seating options. Including inside, a glassed room toward the back and a patio. It's a great place to spend a morning for sure.

At one point, and I'm not exaggerating, it sounded like an airplane was landing inside the coffeeshop. A horrible, continuous, incredibly loud sound like a jet engine .... And it just wouldn't stop! It went on for several, several minutes. At one point my friend paused our conversation and said "My God, what is that?" It ruined our coffee date and made the experience so unpleasant that we just wrapped up our time together and left. To add insult to injury, when we got outside a car alarm was blaring. That is not Hattie's fault, of course, but it didn't change my impression that this is the loudest coffeeshop on earth. I've been to hundreds of coffeeshops, and I've never experienced a prolonged, wretched, grinding-engine sound like this before. I have no idea what it was. It was so bizarre. I had an Arnold Palmer and breakfast sandwich. The lemonade was too tart, but I could have added more sugar so that's not their fault. The sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich was meh, but the pastries looked great (although I didn't have one). Since the staff is wonderful and it is a convenient spot for me, I will go back on a nice day and try the patio. But I can't imagine I will ever try sitting inside again. Prior to some of the other baristas had their thoughts on what it was, coffee grounds, residue. I don't drink coffee. I don't use coffee grounds and I've cleaned the cup repeatedly. It's like a black and rust like spot in the lotto of the cup which is supposed to stainless steel Meena addressed my issue by selling me a cup at 50% off. I noticed the thermal steel cups no longer have seams but one lined insulation piece. I think the design was changed intentionally for this reasoning.
