I can't say enough good things about ScooterBug and their amazing customer service. I know there may be some bad reviews about them and the customer service, but they treated us with respect and kindness. I feel like they mostly get a review when something goes wrong, and probably isn't even their fault. We left some items in the zipper pocket for of the stroller we rented, and they went above and beyond to find them, and then shipped them back to us at no charge. The items we left behind were two autograph books our grandchildren had spent days filling up while meeting so many of the characters that walk around Disneyland. Anyone who knows about this, knows how heartbreaking it was we realized they were missing. So, to get them back, was simply magical. We used ScooterBug in Anaheim to rent a stroller for our trip to Disneyland. It was dropped off on time, and available when we arrived. It was in great condition, no issues whatsoever. When I realized that I would need some kind of mobility assistance to get through Disneyland and California Adventure, not to mention - to and from the Disneyland Hotel, I contacted ScooterBug at the recommendation of the Disneyland Hotel. It was one of the BEST decisions of my LIFE. SERIOUSLY !! Between my bad back and right knee, I knew I was in trouble, and the motorized scooter saved my life !! The scooter was ready and waiting for me when I arrived at the hotel bell desk. They quickly showed me how easy it was to use, and for the next six days, until I dropped it off, this scooter was so unbelievably easy to use, comfortable, and it maintained its charge all day and night. I recharged it every night, as they recommended, and it performed masterfully. I especially loved how easy the turning radius was, which made it so easy to navigate the lines heading into each ride. By the way, for my husband, after walking from the hotel to Downtown Disney and back to the hotel, he realized that he was going to be in trouble all subsequent days if he didn't get a scooter. He called down to the front desk. They put him in touch with Scooterbug, and within a few minutes, he successfully ordered his own scooter, which was made available to him the following day. ScooterBug's renter was illegally driving their scooter with a child in their lap, thus impairing their vision and running over my wife's foot and resulting in our trip cut in half. The driver also immediately left the scene. I reached out to customer service and they advised I email them. I also sent photos of the driver including their illegal actions. They replied that they would forward the info to their legal team. Legal department refuses to respond to anything and it has been over 3 weeks. We have no idea who the driver is and they refuse to provide a resolution. Will be filing complaints in every possible way and take legal action. Watch out for their drivers un-backed by a company that doesn't care. read more

The first day I got my scooter it gave me nothing but problems at Disneyland. I was given a replacement on the second day and that one kept breaking down on me at the Disneyland Park. It would keep powering off on me or when I would turn the key it would not turn on. I held up so many lines and so many crowds I was so embarrassed. When I called both days to report the problem and ask for a credit I was given a partial credit and the manager was extremely rude and said that she would reserve a another scooter for me in the evening and when I came to the Disneyland resort to pick it up they said the manager never even called. I have always rented a scooter from Scootaround before my cruise. I arranged to pick it up at the cruise ship terminal so I can ride it up into the ship. They will also see that your scooter is waiting for you inside the ship in your state room. I need it at the terminal. I can't walk that well I'd never make it into the ship for it. They have different kinds of scooters, depending on your body weight and what you need it for. I get the three wheel scooter. They were always in perfect condition. I've never had issues with them. After my cruise, I drop it back off in the same location just outside the terminal. read more

One year later, another scooter rental. I had difficulties with the battery charge on my scooter which meant not being to spend my full time in Disneyland despite recharging the battery after three hours of use. I called Scooterbug after the visit since I was only there one day and they told me that they now have the ability to handle my scooter issue 24 hours a day which wasn't always the case in the past. Provided a scooter with a non-operational brake/lock mechanism. So obviously, no one checked the unit for this safety feature before it was delivered to my hotel. So I went to the Disneyland scooter rental area - because Scooterbug is the "official" scooter company for the Disneyland Resort. I found that Scooterbug did not have a replacement scooter available. I will not use Scooterbug anymore. I recommend D&K Mobility Scooter Rental, which is a local company, instead. read more

I again rented one for two days and the first night towards the end of the night the battery started flashing  red - luckily I got back to my hotel because good luck trying to charge the scooter at 10 at night in the dark.  I charged the battery in my room during the night.  The 2nd night the scooter lasted until 2am with plenty of battery life to spare.  Please deliver a FULLY charged battery to the hotel and tell the hotel to keep the scooter charged. No one wants to rent a partially charged battery, look for a plug - if you can find one, and take the time to charge a scooter  when they are spending thousands of dollars to enjoy Disneyland. read more

We rented an ECV and a stroller from ScooterBug at Disney World and it was the best decision! Pickup and drop off were quick and easy. The staff (at Art of Animation for us) was very friendly and helpful. My mother in law is sick and with the ECV she was able to do everything we did during the trip and the Disney staff is very accommodating to those who rode them on buses, skyliner, in ride lanes, etc. She couldn't say enough positive things about the ECV and how much it made our trip. 100% recommend for anyone considering this option. read more

When staying on Disney property you are required to utilize scooter Bug. My scooter was there and delivered when requested. However, the scooter that I received was in very bad shape. The seat was tilting to the left, the casing for the steering wheel column was broken and for some reason it sounded like a motorcycle while driving it. I attempted to call and waited on hold for about 10 minutes before they transferred me and when they did somehow I ended up with the Vegas store. It took over an hour and a half to get a hold of somebody to fix the issue. Even though she promised someone would call me in 20 minutes. They didn't. I called back an hour later and was finally able to get ahold of someone. Luckily, they had one already on property and they didn't need to bring another one. But you would think that they would inspect the scooters before they deliver them. The second scooter that I had was adequate the seat was comfortable, however the backing up notification sound was louder than any other scooter I've ever heard. It sounded like one of those delivery carts, and everybody would turn around and look at me. Which is fine once or twice, but it gets old real quick. Someone did mention that they haven't replaced their scooters in about six years hopefully that's in their near future plans. If staying on property, you're required to rent here so that's the only reason I would us them again. read more

I reserved a single stroller for our Disneyland trip. The stroller looked very worn and the straps were missing buckle pieces so I couldn't buckle my 2 year-old into the seat. I called and explained the situation and the company delivered a replacement that day. The replacement was in even worse condition and also did not have a piece of the buckle necessary to safely use the stroller. I am very disappointed and I will not use this company again. read more

Disneyland has disability scooters to loan (or rent-I'm not sure) but they are on a first-come/first-serve basis, so one cannot count on having one. ScooterBug is the only rental disability scooters Disneyland allows into their park. ScooterBug advertises that it delivers to your hotel, but they only deliver to a select list of hotels and will not deliver to other ones. And there is no option to pick up the scooter yourself. What a scam. The agent's only suggestion for me was to change my hotel reservation to one on their list. Sorry, no. This places a big snag in otherwise nice travel plans to the Magic Kingdom. read more

I do not recommend this company ! the first day using scooter was super noisy !they sent a replacement scooter to the hotel and it was not charged at all . had to swap out a third time at Disneyland . wasted lots of time making phone calls ! the scooters should be checked out thoroughly and fully charged before being delivered . I am very happy I rented a scooter and the one I got was nice, but it was delivered with a minimal charge and I had to scrounge for outlets in Disneyland. I was able to get the scooter fully charged for our second day in the park, but the full charge still only got me through the late afternoon. Multiple times we had to search for an electrical outlet to charge the scooter while I sat there doing nothing for 45+ minutes. Tips: Don't charge inside the stores on Main Street because the managers will kick you out. But no one ever bothered us at the outdoor outlets. Also, bring a hotel towel or something with you to cover the black vinyl seat. It gets real hot in the summer and could burn your skin. read more

Terrible manual rental experience. No brake on the left at all and the right barely worked. After waiting on hold for quite some time to ask to swap it , we ended up just making do. Wouldn't recommend that if at the parks due to all of the inclines and declines that you will have to pretty much try to support the person's body weight the whole time waiting in lines. Very exhausting by the third day. Tried to call after our we got home to alert them of the safety issue for the next poor renter, and have been disconnected twice, never getting through to a live person. Can't imagine renting a power chair if they maintain the manual ones so poorly. Much better options out there. read more

Scooterbug has long been the official Disney-preferred ECV, wheelchair, and stroller rental company for Disney World hotels (Orlando). And they just won that right in CA for Disney hotels. But I've found that they're below average compared to the other ECV rental companies in the Disneyland area. Prices are higher and drop off times are less flexible (9am-10pm), especially considering that Disneyland often opens at 7am and closes at midnight. Again, Scooterbug currently has the exclusive rights to drop off and pickup from Disneyland Resort hotels (without the customer being present). Other scooter companies require you to be present at the DLR hotel, to receive and return the ECV. But, again, these other companies (such as Deckert) have better prices and more flexible rental times, so it may be worth it to explore your options. If Scooterbug chooses to act like a monopoly and not offer best-in-class pricing and delivery times, they may not keep their exclusive Disneyland rights for very long. read more

This is the preferred vendor for the major theme park in Anaheim. This is the only reason I picked them. I chose to reserve via phone instead of online. What a big mistake! Long wait on the phone. They "offered" a service for call back which did not work. I pressed the number for "call back" and immediately got a busy signal! So I had to call back AND lost my place in line. I finally got through after almost 20 minutes. Made the reservation. Then plans changed and I needed to cancel. Guess what? I had to call again because there was no feature to cancel online! Waited for 10 minutes to cancel and the call back feature was STILL not working! So without even trying a scooter, the customer service could be a lot better, especially being the preferred Disney vendor! read more

The staff helped us get in touch with Scooterbug and we had no problems reserving our Scooter for a 7am pickup time. When we made it down to the front desk the following morning the scooter was there waiting for us - all charged up and ready to go! Never again will I rent from this company. The scooter was noisy, sounded like the motor was going out. I called and the said to do a couple figure eights as when this happens there is gravel in the wheels. I told her I had not been on gravel just at Disneyland on pavement, but figured I'd give it a try as it may have been on gravel from whoever rented it previously. Nope, didn't change a thing. When called for a replacement they said it would be a couple of hours and they would call me when it was being delivered. 4 hours later still no call, when I called for the 3rd time to see where it was I was told I couldn't receive it until the following morning because all their drivers had gone home.
