Scoops is a five minute walk so I find myself there every once in a while. I usually get a milkshake, tip is to ask for extra thick, if I don't do this it turns out being almost a milk consistency. Workers are always really nice and let you try any flavor you want.

4.5 stars overall. Scoops on Beverly is a local ice cream shop. The menu lists dozens of ice creams, shaved ice, milkshakes, and sundaes. Ice cream can be served in either cups or cones. This ice cream shop also sells to-go containers of ice cream and ice-cream cakes. Prices are moderate. My husband ordered two scoops of ice cream in the flavors of butter pecan and Pittsburgh pothole (chocolate ice cream with fudge and chocolate chunks). I ordered two scoops of ice cream in the flavors of cherry and strawberry. We both really enjoyed the taste of these ice creams. The employee promptly and politely served us. Some tables and chairs were available and could have been a bit cleaner. Please note that the public parking lot outside is small.

Very popular spot. We walk to this icecream shop every Sunday and there's usually a small line & lots of people. No fear, The line always moves quickly! I've tried several flavors and I've yet to have a bad one! Highly recommend! Cons: sometimes they jip you on the amount of icecream they scoop. Most of the time it's fine though!

Ice cream should be served all year round anyway so the fact that they are open in the winter is deserving of 5 stars. When you walk in, there are about 6 seats so not much for sitting but in the summer, you don't need it but in the winter you can eat in the car I think. I got two scoops one of chocolate almonds and strawberry. Chocolate almond had sooo many almonds and strawberry had so many almonds. The scoops were so big. It was the perfect amount of ice cream for me. It was decently priced for what I ordered. The ice cream is out with labels so you can see all the flavors. I think there was at least 20 options to pick from. They also had yogurt too but I didn't have any. The parking is first come first serve on the street. There are a lot of other places to eat or drink, so it's hit or miss for parking.

Cute little ice cream shop! Great flavors. The ice was $3 for one scoop and I had the chocolate almond flavor. The ice cream wasn't super hard which made it taste really creamy. Awesome place to stop on a hot day in the burgh.

A great little place in Mount Lebanon. I feel like this could be a pricy spot (given it's location) but it's not at all. They have a great selection, both ice cream and sherbet, and they also have some random other things including ice cream cakes. Definitely worth the visit.

Kay and I came here today after brunch at Johnny's Diner to soothe a whim/craving she had. A few other people strolled in as we all incongruously ate ice cream while snowflakes whipped about torrentially, sporadically on this White Sabbath. Allow me to take a moment to address axe-to-grind reviewer Tom M. 1-The parlor was far from unclean. Nor was the interior "crumbling." Norman Rockwell prints hung on the walls. The menu is neatly written onto a chalkboard across from the counter. 2-We're almost out of winter as I write this, but I can tell you that the ice cream we had was not freezer-burnt. Kay enjoyed her Grasshopper Sundae, a cup full of mint chocolate chip ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and Oreo pieces. I got cozy with my Milky Way, which was brimful with chocolate fudge ice cream, caramel sauce, and miniature marshmallows that were...crunchy? Methinks someone accidentally put them in the freezer. No matter. It actually added an interesting textural dimension to the sundae. P.S. I'm assuming that Scoops on Beverly is affiliated with the Scoops on Brookline Boulevard, a satellite that I doubt has been in business nearly as long as this one has. Coincidentally enough, a Party Cake bake shop, also found on Brookline Boulevard, is a few doors away from Scoops on Beverly.

They have two cases of their delicious looking pastries, one table of discounted items, and a case serving hot items. Open that case and serve yourself the hot mini quiches and empanadas. Started with a mini quiche and a beef empanada. Hubby liked his quiche. I'm not a fan of olives and they were all over my beef empanada. Will not be getting that one again. The kind young lady behind the case helped us order our very first Burnt Almond Torte. It comes in different sizes and we chose the bar as it easily serves two. She even gave us sporks to eat it with. We really loved the Burnt Almond Torte. The inside has a soft, moist vanilla cake layered with a thin layer of icing and enrobed with more icing and topped with the buttery, crunchy almonds. We will be back for more.

I started with the quiche and enjoyed it; the crust was just average but the egg filing was very good. My wife was not a fan of the empanada so we will not get that again. It was around 10 hours before we tried our Burnt Almond Torte...wow! That dessert is something that I will eat again, and again. The toasted almonds were soooo good! They were crunchy, crispy, and perfect. The Bar Cake had a white cake inside and icing on the outside; it was heavily coated in those almonds. The person who assisted was knowledgeable about the items to a point; she did not eat anything in the bakery so it was by observation. Don't care, that Burnt Almond Torte is the real deal!

It seems too far for most people staying in downtown but it just so happens that we were on a road trip and therefore....had a car. Less than 10 min from downtown was all it took. No seating inside actually which gave me an excuse to wolf this shit down in the comfort of our rental car. Breakfast sandwiches were a given but I was struck by the adorable and enticing pastries and breads on display. There were a number of appealing contestants for my sandwich but the ubiquitous presence of my arch nemesis onions made it slightly challenging. We had spent the preceding few days in Cleveland and then Pittsburgh and while sauerkraut has a lot of nutritional benefits, it is somewhat lacking in protein so I felt comfortable with the "breakfast" with chickpea tofu egg scramble, roasted tomato mayo, vegan sausage and pickles on a nice, juicy bun. I admire the chickpea tofu egg it was a very nice replica for eggs. The sausage patty was gigantic and that mayo was so good. GF ordered the seitan melt with sauerkraut, red onion, oat cheese, pickles, toum, and roasted tomatoes. I tried some of the seitan which was doused in sauce and EXCELLENT. Our road trip bread supply was dwindling so we also got one of their whole grain sourdough loaves which is fantastic and still kicking 5 days later. Paired wonderfully with soup So good
