We stopped in during Little Italy days for single scoops after having lunch nearby. We were greeted immediately by friendly staff members and offered to try whatever we wanted before committing to a flavor. We all ended up getting our single scoops in bowls and I went with something super chocolate-y (can't remember the name). The portion size was huge for a single scoop, in my opinion, and the ice cream was so creamy and fresh. I paid under $12 for all 3 and I thought it was a great deal. There really wasn't anywhere to sit inside. So, we took our scoops for a walk outside. If you're OK with not eating inside, this is a great option in Bloomfield!
I had a customer at work that was moving out of the area and sad she wouldn't be able to come here for ice cream anymore so I figured I'd come check it out. They have a ton of different flavors for people a little more adventurous as I just stuck with my go to cookie dough. It was a hot day and I had biked to Bloomfield and this was the perfect refresher. The milkshake was very rich but not too sweet which I liked and my only issue was the cookie dough and chocolate chips didn't get blended enough to fit in the straw so I had a bit of a challenge actually drinking it. I'll definitely be coming back to try some more of the other flavors.
I went absolutely crazy when I saw they had classic flavors like Superman! I tried it, and it was delicious. I'll be honest, though. It didn't have the consistent cereal milk taste you get at other places, but that's probably because the cereal milk flavor was competing with the flavors of strawberry and banana. I wish I had an extra stomach to try more flavors, like the Pittsburgh Pothole, which is basically a chocolate lover's dream, or the Gold Medal Ribbon, a blend of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel. Finally, the service was great! The scooper was super friendly and even made us a mountain of whipped cream. I'll definitely be coming back. This place is a gem!
New sweet treat spot unlocked! Lots of flavors to pick from and the two boys working there were very patient and very pleasant! Easy to get to, with options to sit outside or inside!
I'm a big fan of scoops! The location is perfect for grabbing a treat after dinner in the area or on a walk. They're open all year and open late which is super convenient. I love that they carry my childhood favorites (Superman, White House cherry, grasshopper pie) and the price is super reasonable. They have a little sitting area inside with some retail space selling pop, ice cream cakes, and candy. There are SO many options it always takes me forever to choose, but I usually pick two. This isn't the place to go if you're looking for super high quality locally churned ice cream or anything but is great if you're looking for a classic scoop of something sugary and fun or are going with a group who has varying tastes. There are tons of flavors kids and grownups alike will love (shout out blue moon!!!!) They have some frozen yogurt options, dairy free options, and things like milkshakes if a cone or cup isn't your thing. A go-to when I'm hanging out in Bloomfield and want a treat.
Very good ice cream and friendly service. So many flavors to choose from! I also like the different choices for cones. We were waited on quickly and the staff was cheerful and helpful. This is a great location for an ice cream shop. We had a wonderful time.
Went to Scoops to get icecream with friends before karaoke on Wednesday. Service was great and the employee, albeit one, was patient and fast with our orders. I ordered the Whitehouse Cherry which was fantastic and would come here more often if it was closer to where I lived.
Had a lot of fun exploring the wide selection of interesting flavors at this shop like Banana Cream Pie and Superman. Ended up getting a single with the Red Velvet, which is something I've never had in an ice cream form before, and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Both were delicious! The ice creams were velvety and thick; you can taste the quality of the milk and other ingredients. My favorite, by far, was the Red Velvet though! Super affordable and served a generous portion. Also, didn't need to pay more for the split scoop!!
Great ice cream! Awesome amount of brownie and toppings with the ice cream itself. I realized when I was eating it I couldn't pace myself, showing how much I enjoyed it, highly recommend at any time!
Why did we wait so long to try this ice cream place?? It has an extensive selection of ice cream flavors, with good mouth feel (you know it's quality ice cream), that can be ordered so many different ways. Hubby had a banana cream pie milkshake that tasted good, albeit the crust pieces got stuck in the straw. I had a 2-scoop sundae with chocolate and vanilla, and strawberry topping. Good serving sizes for the prices. We will definitely come back. Only two customers allowed in the shop at a time right now, so wait outside and see how many typos you can catch on their menu!
Great ice cream. I love their cannoli flavored ice cream, and their seasonal apple pie flavor was also delicious. They have a big selection and the workers are patient. I've had their ice cream cake before too (ice cream layer and cake layer) and thought that was good as well.

It was a hot summer day and I happened to be near Bloomfield and stopped by Scoops. I see why it's a favorite. People were going in and out while I enjoyed my scoops of ice cream. The people there were helpful in my decision making which is hard with so many choices. I asked for the post popular and got a scoop of both, the graham central station and pittsburgh pothole. Both are good though I'm leaning more towards the pittsburgh pothole as my favorite of the two. The vibe was cheerful and relaxed and the indoor and outdoor seating made it easy to stay and enjoy some ice cream. read more
Came here after dinner for something sweet. This location is a little dirty compared to others we've visited. The employees were sitting in the back and took a little bit to come out, but once they did they were very nice and helpful. It's always good ice cream at Scoops, I think I just prefer the location by my house. read more

A small Ice cream shop in downtown Bloomfield on Liberty Avenue. They have a large selection of hard ice cream flavors to choose from. I tried the banana cream pie and it was delicious. My wife tried the rainbow sherbet and enjoyed it also. There are a couple of chairs inside to sit and a couple tables and chairs outside. Worth a try if you are in the area. read more

It was so hot outside and I was dying to treat myself after walking around Pittsburgh all day! Coming in to scoops in Bloomfield was a GREAT decision! Single scoop was just the right amount for me and I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends! read more
Be still my beating heart. I'm taking an epic walk through Pittsburgh (10 miles through six different neighborhoods), and as I'm near the end of my journey, tired, hungry, maybe even a little delirious, I stumble across a mirage, a figment of my imagination, something far, far too good to be true. I see a brand-new beautiful awning with the words "Scoops in Bloomfield". What could it be? I stagger in and I'm overwhelmed by the vision of tub after tub of ice cream--every imaginable color and flavor. Scoops is yet another new thing in my fabulous neighborhood of Bloomfield. Further proof, along with the new Saturday market, that Bloomfield is the coolest neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Why go anywhere else? Tonight, they were accepting only cash. They indicated that this is just a temporary problem. So bring your money, honey, and get you some good ice cream! read more

I went with the server's recommendation of the banana cream pie, and I did not regret it. I love marie calendar's banana cream pie and this ice cream has to be one of the best tasting. It was creamy and full of chunks of banana and pie. I got a scoop on the chocolate chip cone. The special cone was good but it was a little tough to eat. It wasn't really a cookie nor a wafer, and it didn't really taste like how I imagined it on like an ice cream sandwich. Lol. Plus points for creativity though. Next time, I probably would not get a special cone and just save room for another scoop of their delicious ice cream instead. read more
A visit to Scoops in Bloomfield has become a regular stop for me anytime I find myself along that stretch of Liberty Avenue. There's a wide variety of flavors available to choose from; however, I've yet to try them all. My personal favorites are the Salt Caramel Truffle and Peanut Butter Chocolate. Unfortunately, it's a grab your ice cream and go type of place. There's very limited seating inside and by that I mean there's only three or four stools by the window. During the warmer months there's two tables that are usually placed outside, but that's only helpful when it's summer. I'm an all-year ice cream kind of guy. read more

It's hard for me to give this rating but as far as ice cream establishments are concerned I was just not 100% satisfied. The service was great and the price is right but I just think folks in Pittsburgh have better options if they're looking for ice cream. Convenient location if your in Bloomfield visiting friends or grabbing a bite to eat though! read more

So happy to have a new ice cream place in the neighborhood! Because if we are being honest, if I want ice cream at nine on a Saturday I'm not trying to deal with Oakland, or a place that seems like it is staffed by middle schoolers even though I'm pretty sure that hasn't been legal for a century. The flavor selection here is quite extensive. You get a ton of ice cream in a double and the waffle cones are delicious. I got bittersweet sinphony (coffee) and spimoni. The spimoni was the best I've ever had. Price is cheaper than the competition too. There's seating and on a nice night you could just walk across to the friendship parklet too. Will definitely be back, people should definitely support their neighborhood places. read more

Bloomfield has restaurants-a-plenty, but until recently, only had a fro-yo place available to soothe an ailing sweet tooth. Now we have Scoops! They have a really wide selection of flavors, from the darkest, richest fudge to the lightest sherbet, and many in between! They're clean and have a small indoor counter space and a handy table outside too. Price is on par for portion, and the waffle cones smell heavenly if you catch them making them fresh! All in all, a welcomed addition to the neighborhood and worth the walk up liberty! read more
