Condor Chocolates - Five Points (Athens)…read more GO DAWGS!!! This place started with a spark of love many years ago. Now, it's still growing with love by two brothers born and raised in Bulldog Nation, honoring their parents. Five Points location opened in 2014. I've been here few times and I can tell you with 100% certainty that their quality is always better with each visit. The friendly and helpful staff are top notch. They are always knowledgeable and ready to assist you in rich and chocolaty varieties. ROASTERY: The space is small and cozy. When you enter, you're welcomed by sweet aroma. You can come in, enjoy the atmosphere, sip on your specialty drink and watch the process of chocolate making. And of course, while you watch confections masterpiece, why don't you indulge on their rich and delicious chocolates. CONFECTIONS: 48%-72% You've never had such rich, smooth and delicious treats in your life before! It may be a bold statement to make, but I encourage you to visit them and try it for yourself. You can indulge in milk or dark chocolate. "Georgia Bars," "Condor Chocolate Bars," "Bulldog Bark," and many of their individual specialty toffees. I picked up their, "Georgia Bar" and "Condor Dark + Smoked Sea Salt Bar," to enjoy at home. GIFT IDEAS: If you're one who loves specialty chocolate and loves to give, Condor has you covered. They offer, "Spectacular Gift Set," "Deluxe Gift Set," "Bulldog Gift Set," and "Classic Gift Set." They ship nationwide. Be sure to visit their website or call them and inquire about all their products. HUMBLE BEGINNING: What's unique about this place is that they stay true to their humble beginnings. Besides many confections offered here, you can also try their great variety of coffee drinks. Many of their products ingredients are sourced from Ecuador. CHOCO COFFEE: Their blend of "Choco Coffee," isn't named after chocolate coffee. Instead, it's named after Ecuadorian, Choco Toucan bird. I bought, "Comunidad Blend," to brew at home. I've already brewed couple of cups and OMG!!! It offers notes of Dark Chocolate, Pecans, Pink Grapefruit and Guava. As I've been sipping on it, its whole beans are washed, well balanced, offer rich and bold flavors. You can taste the home roots. PARKING: It can be tricky to get in here. It's located off busy, S. Lumpkin Street. Parking is very limited as it shares it with five other businesses. There is additional parking nearby. RECOMMEND: Overall, this place is very unique. It offers something for everyone. They cater to kids and kids at heart... with a sweet tooth. Stop by or visit them online and see what all they have to offer. I highly recommend them and looking forward to continuing being their customer.

Walking up to the place, I love the bright red tables outside. It adds such a fun vibrancy to the place. The windows are also decorated with beautiful strands of color. It creates such a fun vibe. I noticed the beautifully crafted truffles displayed in the glass case. They all looked so good! I asked the sweet gal for a variety of 8 pieces. I also got a salted caramel brownie as well. My truffles got boxed up with a cute white bow. My brownie was getting warmed up while the gal was helping another guest. I checked out the other items for sale while I was waiting for my brownie. I love all the Georgia Bulldog themed chocolates. There was also a different variety of chocolate bars available. I noticed they also sold espresso and coffee drinks at the shop. I wish I would have known about the coffee! I would have rather grabbed coffee from this joint and not from Starbucks. It will be something I'll have to try next time. My brownie was so good! The love the flakes of salt on the brownie. The sweet and salty combo is always a winner. It was heated up just right! There were caramel ribbons were in every bite. It's very decadent! Make sure you have a big glass of cold milk. You'll need it for this brownie! This was a neat little chocolate joint I got to check out. They have some really good sweets that you must try! The hazelnut truffle is a must have. I can't wait to share my truffles with my friends and family. I'll be sharing a piece of Athens with them.

The employee was sitting down behind the counter just ignoring everyone who came in so quite literally the store was not being monitored and a few other customers mentioned how it would be easy to take. I wanted some gummies and went over to their selection but you can tell it is not maintained. Lots of stale gummies and or empty bins. It was rather disappointing. Once I was ready I was at the counter for about 12 minutes and I kept looking at the employee to see if they would come over. Eventually I said excuse me and he got up very annoyed. Didn't even greet me, tons of attitude and mumbled my total so low I couldn't hear it and had to rely on the screen for my price. I said thank you and he just ignored me and went back to his seat to completely ignore the other customers. It is pretty unfortunate that this location has such awful service.

Lolli and Pops, a store that markets itself as a whimsical haven for candy lovers, has proven to be…read moreanything but sweet when it comes to basic customer service and inclusivity. My recent experience on a Sunday evening (5:22 PM, to be exact) was not just disappointing--it was a glaring example of systemic indifference and selective engagement that has no place in retail, let alone a family-friendly establishment. From the moment my excited little one walked in--freeing herself from her stroller with the innocent enthusiasm only a child can muster--to the moment she proudly selected her lollipop and approached the counter, not a single employee could muster a "Hello," "How are you?" or even a perfunctory "Did you find everything okay?" Instead, the interaction was reduced to a robotic price quote, dead silence, then back to their conversation. No warmth, no acknowledgment, no effort. If the staff's exhaustion at the end of a weekend shift was the issue, then management needs to reevaluate scheduling or hire employees who understand that customer service is the bare minimum in retail. What makes this experience even more egregious is that this wasn't an isolated incident. On multiple occasions, I've noticed a pattern--certain customers are greeted warmly, while others (particularly those who look like me) are met with cold indifference. A simple "Hello" should not be a privilege; it should be standard. If your staff lacks the emotional intelligence to treat all patrons with equal respect, then your establishment has failed at its most fundamental duty. The most heartbreaking part? Watching my little one's bright-eyed anticipation wither into confusion when her simple joy was met with blank stares. Children remember these moments. They internalize them. And while she may not fully grasp the nuances of poor service or discrimination, I do--and I refuse to spend my money in a place that allows such energy to thrive. In 2025, consumers have endless options--and even more platforms to voice their dissatisfaction. If your employees lack the personality (or basic decency) to engage with customers, they have no business working in retail. And if management turns a blind eye to discriminatory behavior, then they don't deserve patronage. To Lolli and Pops at Perimeter Mall: You've lost not just my future business, but the business of my network as well. My coins--and those of my vendors--will be spent elsewhere, with establishments that understand respect, inclusivity, and the bare minimum of hospitality. To Potential Customers: Spend wisely. Your money and your energy should go to businesses that value you--regardless of what you look like or what time you walk in. "A candy store that leaves a bitter taste."
