A sure fire stop if you have anybody that enjoys ice cream. Elderly folks and kids alike will have a smile after leaving here. In addition to the obvious they have a large display of candy and some novelty toys. They also offer candy. We got chocolate covered pineapple and it was so yummy. Scoops was conveniently located on the corner of Downtown Monroe's main street. After grabbing dinner, we walked down and were greeted by a big selection of candy! We headed there initially for ice cream but we definitely picked up a bunch of other treats as well. Their ice cream flavors were awesome. I got the Banana Pudding and my husband got the Amaretto Cherry. Both were yummy! I loved that they had outdoor seating as well. We will be back! read more

I have been to this scoops a few times and the service + ice cream was great! I grew up in Covington and would go to the Scoops on the square a lot when I was younger. I was glad to see that there was another Scoops in downtown Monroe. I don't eat ice cream toooo often but have definitely enjoyed getting a scoop of chocolate with rainbow sprinkles (throwback to my childhood lol) every now and then after dinner downtown. Their ice cream is great plus I love that Scoops always has lots old fashioned candy in their shop. Seeing all of the pop rocks, ring pops and baby bottle pops really takes me back. I love the colorful atmosphere and sitting outside in the rocking chairs when the weather is nice. This location also has picnic tables for extra outdoor seating and a cute mural on the side of the building! read more

The ice cream and milkshakes are perfect, and taste better than any other ice cream/milkshake place I have ever been to. Finally after years of people telling me to try this spot, I went this evening! It was definitely worth the hype! They serve homemade ice cream, along with sorbets, milkshakes, and their store is filled with large varieties of candy! You can tell it's homemade, loved tasting all the coconut flakes in my ice cream and my Belgian chocolate was 10/10! I look forward to coming back here and highly recommend this spot! They have indoor and outdoor sitting which is a plus and it's adorable which always gets me! Downtown Monroe also complimentary parking which was easy to find a spot. Friendly staff, fun atmosphere, tasty ice cream! Downtown Monroe is fun too, so this place makes it even better. Last time my family of five visited, my four year old managed to give herself a blue ice cream bath. Without us asking, one of the employees brought us a stack of napkins and warm water so we could get her cleaned up. Add the delicious ice cream and this place is a winner. read more

I would give Scoops 5 stars for their brick and mortar locations - they are always friendly and the sweet treats are delicious! But today we were at Hard Labor State Park to get cooled off in the lake. Afterward we were excited to see the mobile Scoops location. We chose to get shaved ice. They had 6 flavors posted on the sign. Unfortunately, blue razz was sold out... ok- I then asked if the watermelon was tart like a jolly rancher. The kid working the counter said- idk, I've never had it. Ok, the other guy was in charge of the shaved ice. So I said- does he know? The man didn't respond and the kid said- he doesn't know either. At this point we was a bit frustrated as I didn't want to pay $5 for something I might not like. So I chose pina colada. So to try to lighten the mood I said- y'all need to try the flavors by the end of the day! No smile, no response... so then I said, we used to have a shaved ice cart. Again- no response. Ok, not everyone is jovial, but this boarders on plain rude. That experience took away one star. Then I took a bit of the "shaved ice". It isn't... shaved at all. It is snow cone ice. Crunchy, not smooth. If the machine has the ability to dodge the ice, adjustments need to be made. Overall it was disappointing to have this experience when we've always been happy at the store locations. read more

Scoops! I went twice during my stay in Monroe. Both times, I got a single scoop of ice cream. The scoop was very generous. The ice cream was very good. I had the Belgian Chocolate on my first visit and Mint Chip on the second. Both were good but I preferred the Belgian Chocolate. The shoppe also sells a great variety of candy.
