Waffle Cone

First trip to the Carnegie location of scoops! Great spot on Main Street and I love the inside! Some seating but not much. We got a single scoop- it's a huge serving of ice cream IMO. I got the moosetracks and my fiancé got the cannoli. Both were tasty but the waffle cones/bowl really were great. We went on a cold night so we thought it would be all but there was quite a line. There was one young girl working and you could tell she was overwhelmed. One guy in front of us was being a total jagoff but she handled him and the line like a pro!! We'll be back :)

I loved scoops! They had so many good flavors to choose from and a cute space right in the little downtown area. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable on flavors and they also have cute knickknacks you can purchase as well.

Ate at scoops Friday night for the Carnegie Crawl. They had a special going on that was buy one get one so we got 2 kids single scoops for a total of $2! It was awesome. So many flavors to choose from and my daughter ordered vanilla :). We also ordered the graham cracker one and that was good. The line was super long but apparently its not usually like that and it went fast!

Passing through the area and had a craving for something sweet. The whole town of Carnegie has a bit of a nostalgic vibe to it, and Scoops definitely feels the same way. The building is old, but super cozy and feels rustic and old school. Many many flavors to chose from and the homemade waffle cones are so tasty. The portions are massive m, two scoops is HUGE. I'll definitely be visiting again!

Scoops in Carnegie is the latest of the "scoops" chain to open in the area. Occupying a portion of what was formerly known as "the Flying Squirrel" the ice cream shop has retained the tables and chairs from their old ice cream store that was part of the former toy shop. Scoops on Carnegie serves both Perry's and Hershey's ice cream. They have a limited selection of vegan ice cream and also I was told by the counter lady that they can use almond milk if I wanted a vegan milkshake. There is a good assortment to choose from. A cup or a cone starts at $3.00 for one scoop and $5.75 for two. Tax is included. As noted in my previous review on Scoops on Beverly they don't have a rewards program. You are permitted to sample here. Some of the flavors have nifty names to them such as "Pittsburgh potholes" and "gold metal ribbon ice cream." These were the two I ended up trying. Pittsburgh potholes is basically a dark chocolate with chocolate chunks in it. Gold metal ribbon is a vanilla chocolate mix with a swirl of caramel throughout. Combining these made for a delicious chocolate rich treat. If you wish to eat in then you can gaze at the delectable ice cream cakes, candies, frozen treats, and refrigerated beverages in their own case or refrigerator. The scoops themselves are not much bigger than your traditional ice cream scoop but you are able to mix flavors should you decide more than one. Sitting in the heart of Carnegie's business district on Main St metered street parking is available.

Antney's is less than 10 minutes away from my apartment, and yet I almost never get ice cream here…read more Why? Because they're popular - TOO popular. And to be fair, they deserve to be popular. Still, waiting in a long line outside in the summer heat...it's no fun. BUT if I'm driving by and the line is short for a change, I'll take a detour and get myself a sweet treat. So, why's Antney's so popular? Because we all love a family-run ice cream shop. They serve homemade cones and a nice mix of (also homemade) ice cream scoops, milkshakes, sundaes, and even frozen yogurts and sorbets. Parts of the menu rotate regularly too (specifically, I've read that some flavors change daily). So while you can always expect to find the classics here, you never know what else awaits you. Case in point: I stopped by last week and to my delight, Nutella Cookie ice cream was on the menu! I ordered a milkshake version and let me tell you, it was the best milkshake I've had in quite a while. Absolutely delicious flavor, and full of cookie pieces to boot - it hit the spot on a hot summer afternoon. It's probably for the best that I don't want to regularly wait in a long line in a hot parking lot to get ice cream from Antney's. Well, it's good for my wallet and waistline at least - it's disappointing for my tastebuds. Hopefully though, I'll get lucky again before they close for the winter, and will once again drive by while the line is on the shorter side!

I first learned of Antney's a few years ago, and have visited a couple of times since then. It is a…read moresmall, seasonal, local ice cream shop located near Green Tree. It is in a standalone building, but within a complex so there is a decent amount of parking. It is a true ice cream stand, with no indoor area and ordering at the windows. Very much appreciate that their ice cream is homemade. It seems like they rotate flavors daily, and are constantly coming up with new and unique combinations. Several times I have gone and they are switching flavors mid-day, so there is really always something new and different to try all the time. My most recent visit was on a very busy Sunday, and it took about an hour to be waited on from start to finish. The girl who waited on me was nice, let me sample some flavors, and gave recommendations when I asked for them. On this particular visit, I got a Golden Oreo Cookies and Cream Milkshake. Additionally, I ordered a two scoop dish with Citrus Rosemary and Peanut Butter & Cookie Dough. Additionally, ordered a Strawberry Pretzel Cheesecake Milkshake and a Pup Cup to-go. The items I personally had were good, and I liked trying the unique flavor of the Citrus Rosemary, though I did not get a lot of rosemary flavor in the scoop. My total for all this was around $26. Just a note, milkshakes cost more if they are a flavor that is not Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, or Strawberry. I previously worked in management of a homemade ice cream shop, and given my industry knowledge I do believe the prices here are high. Other points of critique I have for this place include the lack of seating (no outdoor seating at all), and speed of service. My primary critique, however, is that their hours are so limited. I likely would visit here on a more regular basis if they were open for longer than four hours a day (this includes weekends!). I also wonder if the pricing could lower if they were open longer, and therefore able to move more product. There probably is reasoning, but I am curious why college-aged workers could not staff the store during the afternoon in the summer months, and especially on the weekends. I would recommend giving this place a try - there is not a ton of ice cream shops in this area specifically, and it is locally owned. The ice cream is made fresh, and the variety and uniqueness of the flavors is noteworthy. Just make note of my points above, especially the hours.

Leo Greta is one of those places that just does everything right…read more I had the carbonara, and it was honestly excellent. It was creamy without being heavy, tasted very authentic, and the noodles were homemade. You could tell a lot of care went into it. We also had the pizza bread, which was perfect to share and really well done. They do simple things with really good ingredients and with care from what I gathered I ordered the Dubai chocolate martini and it was really good too. There were a lot of good drink options so I'd imagine there's something for everyone My family had the onion and mushroom soup and loved it as well. Everything that came out was just consistently great. They change the menu often, which I really appreciate, and everything tastes fresh and high quality. You can tell they use good ingredients and actually care about execution. I would absolutely go back and recommend it without hesitation.

We tried to make a reservation but nothing was available. My friend insisted on putting our name on a standby list and the restaurant was extremely excited to call us with a cancellation, which they said rarely happens. I was excited to introduce my friends to this spot! Our party was not the easiest as we have a few dietary restrictions, like one GF person and one vegetarian. We wanted a few of the starters and noticed that getting the antipasto might be the most cost-efficient way. My friend asked if we might have all the meat on one plate and the veggies on another to be considerate of the vegetarian (me) and they nicely accommodated that request. The GF friend was excited to order a Dubai chocolate martini as she thought she would be getting these flavors without the dough she can't have, but it came around the rim and sprinkled in the drink and she had to send it back, which they also quickly accommodated. They also had several mocktails on the menu, really nice options made with NA spirits. I ordered one of these. I usually get the gnocchi here but on this visit they had a pasta special with corn that was like a taste of just-ended summer and I went with that. It was delicious and my friends enjoyed their meals as well. There is a dessert bar next door but service on this night was taking an extremely long time so we didn't get into any desserts. Service on this particular visit was not quite what I've been used to on previous visits overall, and one of my friends mentioned it afterward to the GM who was very accountable and responsive. He had also stopped by to personally check on us during our meal, and it's nice to get a sense that a place genuinely cares about your customer experience. I will continue to come back.

It was such a unique concept because I've never had cheesecake in a smoothie like that before. There were a lot of seeds in it but honestly I don't even mind that. I'm thinking next time I'll get either the strawberry cheesecake or the blueberry cheesecake to see how those compare. My friend got the protein coffee and even though it tasted a little more like whey than coffee it was still a nice treat. They also have protein brownies in the refrigerator that looked really interesting and there are several games you can play out near the tables which is a fun touch. The ice cream flavors are pretty basic but there are a ton of options when it comes to milkshakes and smoothies so there's definitely something for everyone. Service is fast and friendly, the location is convenient, and there's also a really nice trail at Crafton Park nearby where you can walk and enjoy your smoothie in the sun afterward. The service is always warm, and while the ambiance is more so grab and go, there are seating options with outlets nearby if you wanna stick around. The only reason i cant give this place more stars, (even though i really want to) is the lack of flavor in their drinks. Ive had a couple of their smoothies and love them, but wish they were a little more fruit/flavor heavy, as the powder taste is quite upfront. Im not trying to say make them unhealthy by adding sugar, they could just use a little more fruit/ flavor. Obviously you're gonna taste some powder, because they are protein smoothies, but the flavor could use a little more balance. Besides the flavor balance, the smoothies are good, i haven't gotten one thats bad, and i definitely recommend coming here. The only thing I've been disappointed by was their Matcha & boba (No bueno).
