Fast Eddies Restaurant Bakery & Ice Cream Stand - New England Lobster roll

Before we said goodbye for the day, a group of my friends wanted dinner... but it was too early for…read moredinner. Enter Fast Eddies, a place that let you decide your food. For the kid: ice cream. For a snack: a hot dog. For me: A lobster roll. Sure, why not? I read the reviews beforehand and that was the going prize. I can offer the following. * Ambiance: It's outdoors. The sign says you have to order outside, but then you can ask to sit inside. That rubs me all kinds of wrong. If you are differently abled and you need an indoor seat, you should be able to just go take it and they should come serve you. Hoping they have a workaround for that. * Service: Took longer than I thought. One of my friends told me that she sighed when he ordered a hot lobster roll right after I did. My friend before me ordered a cold one. What, are they running out of lobster? Is cold preferred in Vermont for some reason? * Food: The only saving grace. Look, the ice cream comes from multiple sources. I've seen this before, and the sources are taped to different windows as you walk around the building. Nothing homemade, but you can ask who makes which flavor if you really wanted to. I don't know if the lobster roll bread was all natural, but it tasted wonderful when toasted. The roll itself was chock full of lobster, something you don't expect to find in the inland New England state. I was thinking 4 stars, but that's just for the food. Unfortunately I think this place needs to be a little more customer-forward. They do a good volume of business and maybe that's made them a bit salty over the years - focus!

We have been here a few times on trips from New York to New Hampshire. It is a wonderful quick stop…read morefor a delicious bite to eat. You order at the window like you would an ice cream stand. There are picnic tables outside and also some seating inside. They have an extensive food menu including burgers, chicken, seafood, and several vegetarian options. They also have homemade ice cream, which is delicious as well. What drew us to this place was their seafood. There aren't a lot of places in New York to get great seafood. We have had their lobster rolls and fried clams, and both were amazing! The prices are reasonable for the quality and size. All of the workers are very polite and friendly. Wish it wasn't so far away from me!

The Putney Diner - Crispy chicken sandwich... maybe a bit much on the onions, but the fries were perfect

What you'd hope for in an updated rustic old Vermont building. 2. The service has been excellent on both visits, with the caveat that breakfast is busy and the food took a long time to arrive. 3. Breakfast was solid. Not transcendent but solid eggs and toast and home fries and coffee and everybody seemed happy. Room for improvement 1. For Putney Vermont - get some decent vegan and vegetarian options. 2. The veggie burger was bean based, mushie old-school 70's style. Fell apart as soon as you picked it up. 3. The cheeseburger was good. It's just that for $18 you could show a little more attention to detail. A greenish slice of winter tomato. A single leaf of iceberg lettuce. 2 ringlets off an onion slice. And no pickle. 4. The fries that came with it had to be sent back to be cooked longer. And there was a big puddle of oil on the plate once I slid the par-cooked fries onto a side dish. The server was lovely about it and they came back fast and cooked through. But my guess is the oil wasn't hot enough hence the grease puddle. 5. The chicken orzo soup was meh. I don't try it. Brought it home for sick family member. And sorry but my personal pet peeve - the pre-calculated tip options were 20,22,25% and all calculated on top of the sales tax. Understand that it has gotten VERY expensive to go out for a burger for your average local. So putting a little more attention into it would be greatly appreciated. All the best, and thank you.

We pulled into the parking area and asked the workers we saw outside where the handicap entrance was and the kid looked at me like I was crazy. He said I don't know. I asked if he worked there and he said yes. ok is there a ramp? He asked another worker who told us to go to the other side of the building. One in our party is in a wheel chair and this place just squeaks by as being accessible. The ramp is old and feels very unsafe and when we got to the top there was no signage and there are no safety handles. It's scary. Once inside we had a wonderful experience. There is ample seating and it's rustic and cute. Our server was very nice Now the food: I got a Patty melt on rye with sweet potato fries (adding a side of maple syrup to dip those fries is a must) the burger was ok but was much too small for the bun. Friend 1 got a juicy mushroom burger with fries. It was very good. Fries are homemade and delicious. Friend 2 got a chicken wrap that tasted very fresh and was delicious. Side of sweet potato fries as well. Over all food is really good but not very wheelchair friendly
