Mint chocolate chip with toppings was incredible, and the speciality ice cream cones are fudge thick deliciousness. Great place to take a hot date.

An abundance of flavors here. Located next to five guys w indoor seating. Ice cream was good. Staff did not give that welcoming vibe that I love as part as my experience.

This quaint retro ice cream parlor is worth the drive. Rick is the King and offers the best vegan soft serve I have ever had in a variety of solid flavors. I go with the blueberry cheesecake!

First time here, Ice cream is outstanding! So many flavors. I got the mint moosetracks loaded with chocolate chunks and a flavorful mint ice cream. My wife got extreme chocolate with a gluten free cone which was a nice surprise! Can't wait to come back and try another flavor with a warm chocolate cone!

time listed that they close showing I had time to come get a simple scoop of ice cream

Great staff, lots of options. Chocolate dipped waffle cones are excellent. Coconut milk ice cream is very good.

Not super impressed. Ice cream was not very good. Either it was old or had melted and refroze. Won't go back if you want my opinion.

The interior is spacious and the service was great. I fell in love with the chopped not-liver ($13), which is a delicious eggplant spread that doesn't taste like eggplant but has a great savory flavor with a slight wine aroma. The pita bread that came with it was so warm, pillowy, and chewy. This dish was just perfection. There's an eggplant dip (Oren's eggplant) in the Bay that I have been craving, and now I have something in Cambridge that is just as good if not better. The haus smoked whitefish ($12) was also quite good. It had a lot of fish but wasn't too fishy, had good flavor and came with crunchy crackers. The fish and chips ($24) was tasty as well -- the chips are really crunchy and the fish was flaky and crunchy, and the sauce was interesting and spicy. Lastly, we got the halva ice cream sundae ($12), which was pretty decent with a lot of crunchy bits. I'm not a big fan of nutty flavors or milky ice cream, so I'm not sure if I'd get it again. There is a 20% gratuity automatically applied (we had 2 people, so I don't think it's due to party size). Service was great -- people kept checking on us and refilling our water. In conclusion, the eggplant chopped not-liver was amazing and it's everything I've been looking for. I'm excited to try more of their offerings.

I don't give it 5 stars because some of the food doesn't hit it for me. The poutine is not great, and not very well seasoned when I tried it. Their turshi however is amazing. Food is always on point and this is the one place I would break my food habit rules for. Every dish was divine from starter to finish. I think we had someone different serving us after a couple of courses, I loved seeing the same servers there year after year which means they treat staff well - huge plus in my book. Definitely will put this on our rotation for girl's night out. In case you've never seen baby seagulls before, here's a selfie with one! I took it right before I walked to the restaurant

I'm sure I would have had a much better lunch at one of the other participating French restaurants with lower priced menus. It's a shame because I loved Bistro du Midi the prior 2 times (not for Dine Out). 2 stars because 2/3 of the meal tasted alright (but not great), generous portions, and the location. Even at the very back of a completely packed downstairs, with the fully open front it was nice to see the Public Garden bridge posts and trees behind the cute patio. All of the staff were polite. However, overall service was slow, uncoordinated, and aggravatingly difficult to flag down. 3 people (not counting the hostess) came to my table before my assigned server finally introduced herself. Then 2 others came to refill water, serve, or take dishes. With 6 people providing service it was shockingly difficult to get any 1 person's attention. Literally nobody looked in my direction as they rushed by, and it took way too long for me to successfully wave down someone. I'd been hoping to get my check and pay 20 minutes earlier, which would have made it a reasonable 1 hour lunch for 1. I took photos just for a record, not because I loved the presentation: Cauliflower tartare: I was most excited to try this. It was indeed unique, but in a weird, not enjoyable way. I felt slightly queasy after eating it. It was too oily for truffle yogurt and cauliflower. The shriveled tomatoes tasted awful, and I normally like all kinds of tomatoes. The beet chips were the best part, and it wasn't even mentioned on the menu. Chicken Paillard: A huge piece of pounded thin, nicely breaded, pan-fried chicken with a mess of greens unattractively dumped on it (a very similar visual for the hanger steak next to me). I can't stand arugula, which also was missing on the menu. The frisée was also not appetizing. I would have asked for substitute greens but was already weary of trying to get attention from service and noticing the time slipping by. The chicken was tasty, including leftover for dinner, with the breading still fairly crisp. Chocolate & caramel torte: This had the potential to be 5/5 stars, or 4/5 if they simply repackaged the same elements. Desserts, especially French ones, should wow and delight. I saw a similar to my reaction from the table next to me when theirs finally arrived (after they wondered aloud where their tortes were). Their faces said: "oh... hmm... well, hope it tastes good at least." The first bite was a flop... visually and experientially: as soon as the spoon cut through the soft caramel mousse and hit the first layer of flourless chocolate sponge (which was more a thick fudge texture), it pushed the chocolate part out, making an ugly and uneven mess just trying to get the first spoonful all the way through. It would have been better to just have 1 layer of each instead of 2 each stacked. The caramel ice cream and taste of the other elements were good enough to take more than 1 bite but not "wow", and the packaging of it left much to be desired. It pains me to write this because previously I'd have said Bistro du Midi was a Boston area favorite. But I really regret this Dine Out meal, and I hope they take this feedback and others' to do better like I think they're capable of. I'm not sure I'd go back unless I picked the exact same dishes I got before (the Spanish octopus and 2 kinds of fish were standouts).

This is a community favorite and for good reason: the seafood is exceptionally cooked and the classic lakeside, vintage feel is approachable and still well maintained. This trip, we went to Morrissey's three times for lunch/ice cream and once for dinner. For dinner, we sat in the main dining room. Admittedly, service was a bit slower than some people liked in our party (but I was okay with waiting for it, I'm on lake time!) that was the only qualm we had at dinner was how the service was slow because they are obviously understaffed. When we came for lunch with a smaller party, we decided to sit at the bar instead which is on the other side of the building and more of a dive bar feel: an Irish pub. All of the meals were great, but we preferred sitting in the bar and got much faster service there during our lunch. Of all of the food we've tried, my favorites were the fried scallop and the Cajun shrimp bruschetta. And the Mac and cheese was yummy! But everything has tasted great! And you can't go wrong with some ice cream! Make a reservation if you're planning on doing dinner, but expect a slower pace. So maybe have a snack or don't come starving and know it will be a little slower. But worth the wait in my opinion! Or sit at the bar if you're okay with music and a little bit of a louder environment during your meal with your party.
