First time in Keene and i was craving ice cream one night. This ice cream store happened to be open and near by. They have a huge parking lot. Plus they follow all social distancing rules. They have so many different flavors plus milkshakes and some other special options such as sundaes. I got soft serve on a special cone and it was definitely worth it! So filling and yummy! It was my first night visiting keene and at 9:15 my boyfriend and I wanted some ice cream so we called Rick's ice cream to ask how long they were open for and this rude girl answered and told us 9:30 and acted as if she was hoping we wouldn't make it by that time. We went anyways because we wanted to try it and it was not yet 9:30. we got there at 9:22 and the doors were locked and 5 teenage girls were just staring at us trying to get in and proceeded to gesture that they were closed and couldn't come in. That was very frustrating as we had just called 5 minutes ago. we called them back and we saw the girl answer and we could even hear her from inside and she was basically yelling at us, and said, "we are closing - that's what you do at a job"... like what?? I'm 27 and have had PLENTY of jobs and I know the listed time for closing is the time up until paying customers are allowed in. That would never have been acceptable at any of my jobs, so maybe she's the one who doesn't know how to close a store. AKA Cool Scoops, this place has quite the assortment of icecream, however they're lacking on Fro-yo varieties. (two choices) It was good to see that Rick himself is still running this place, and he seems to work every shift himself. This guy owns the place, so he keeps the floor clean, the serivce snappy, and the smiles plentiful. I'll come back to this place every time i'm in Keene, however I hope he starts making fro-yo more of a priorty. There are dozens of flavors of ice cream, both hard and soft serve, lots of topping choices, and so many mix ins and dry toppings they are too numerous to count. Their flavors are unique, but I have only ever tried 2, which were delicious. I can't really comment on the cost, as other reviewers, because I am used to Cold Stone prices, which are exorbitant.
