The employee scooping the ice cream was friendly and let us try a few samples. The vibes were really cool, a mix of an ice cream shop and a bar. Yes, yes, and yes! Earnest Drinks is really such a hidden gem. I had a craving for ice cream just now and went over and got a small, with two scoops--one Brown sugar Poptart and the other the bourbon cornbread. First of all, their small is larger than it looks and it was only just over $5! I was like, "That's all?!" Secondly, they have unique flavors and combinations, from ube to pandan to brown sugar poptart. Thirdly, I loved my ice cream! They were flavorful and fun. The poptart one was like an explosion of sweetness, and I don't even like actual poptarts so they improved upon the food version of them significantly! If you're an anxious person this review is for you! To get into the store go down the stone steps (facing the Kendall cinema) and into the marked door. To the left is the counter. The menus for food and drinks are in a little basket on the counter and to see the ice cream flavors just slide down to the left more. There's seating on both the left and right, higher chairs as well as armless normal height chairs and a booth. The trash can is behind the black pole to the left right when you enter- you can't miss it. They have music playing, but not too loudly that you can't have a conversation. The staff was incredibly kind and patient, which helped my anxiety because I had a bunch of questions. I really appreciated the time the person who helped me took to answer things and make me feel comfortable. I got a small cup of their snowball coconut ice cream- delicious! It was under $5 ($4.45 or something like that) and filling for the amount you get. I'll definitely be back! My friends told me I have to try Earnest ice cream when I'm in town so I decided to give it a try. I had the ube, panda, and sweet cream flavors. I'm usually not an ice cream person cause it's too sweet for me, but this place knocked it out of the ballpark for me. I was blown away about how it's just subtly sweet and you can actually taste the flavors. They had a nice patio seating area for us to sit down and chill while enjoying the amazing ice cream. I can't speak to the drinks but I love the flight of ice cream deal they had! So worth it. It was 13 dollars for SIX scoops of Gracie's ice cream! Loved all the flavors we got - coffee, cookies and cream, pandan, ube, sweet cream, strawberry. The service is slow during the day (he is by himself during the day time) but I very much respect how hard the guy works. He bartends, is the cash register, cooks the food, and scoops the ice cream. Gracie's Ice Cream is one of my favorite local ice cream shops, and I was ecstatic to hear they were opening a second location in Kendall Square. My partner and I stopped by on opening day, and in addition to ice cream, this location also serves coffee, food, and alcohol, including some absolutely delicious "adult frappes." Earnest Drinks + Gracie's Ice Cream is currently offering outdoor dining (and take-out) via online ordering only. The outdoor dining space is spacious but limited, and you are expected to seat yourself on a first come basis. All of the tables are numbered and named to facilitate seamless ordering and delivery/service of food/drinks. We ordered the Muffuletta and Southern Cheese Dog with BBQ Pulled Pork (+$2) in addition to the Pandan Whiskey Frappe and Ube Coconut Frappe, and ended our night with a scoop of the Twinkies n' Jam (!!). The Muffuletta tasted authentic compared to the ones we've had in New Orleans, with just slightly less of an oomph factor. My partner felt that there were not enough olives but I felt that in comparison to the other ingredients, the ratio was spot-on. The Southern Cheese Dog was insanely juicy and the Fritos provided an incredible added texture. However, I still felt hungry after finishing the entire hot dog. In comparison, the muffuletta was light but very filling. I cannot rave enough about the Pandan Whiskey Frappe. Oh. My. God. To my partner's eternal dismay, I am not and will never be a whiskey person, but I absolutely loved this drink. The flavor of the pandan was not too sweet and provided the drink a well-rounded earthy taste. The Ube Coconut Frappe tasted like an ube pina colada and was good, but fell slightly short of my expectations in comparison to other ube flavored alcoholic drinks I've had in the past. Overall, we enjoyed both the food and drinks at Earnest Drinks + Gracie's Ice Cream. Literally the slowest service, and the most "unavailable items" I have ever seen on a menu. Place completely empty last night apart from our party of 8. Around 20 minutes to get a drink, and when questioning where our orders were told that they were "rushed off their feet", literally no one there at all. Folks abandoned ordering fancy drinks, still took 10 mins to pop open a Miller high life despite us being the only customers. Honestly I should've gone somewhere else. As soon as I walked in the music was blasting. Then the flavors available in the case were so limited to such eccentric or only fruit flavors that I definitely should of said that was a red flag. After ordering a 2 scoop sundae, upon seeing the puny scoops, I realized there was no getting off this train. I asked for hot fudge, which was squirted out of a plastic bottle and he was so chintzy with it, I gave up all hope. The whip cream I guess was the best part. The plastic choc flavored sprinkles were nothing more than a cheap decoration. Run don't walk this place stinks if your looking for a good old fashioned HOT fudge sundae. 1 star cause I think it's required. But really - I give it a zero. read more

Yes! Yes yes yes yes yes! Lots of outdoor, spaciously spaced seating. Friendly and quick service -- I'd barely gotten through 2 pages of my book before my drink and food arrived. And boy were they delicious! I was gonna only drink 2/3 of my whisky pandan frappe (cuz, waistline) but yeah...nope. That disappeared real quick. Perfectly balanced, strong pandan flavor and good smoky whisky flavor, without being cloying or overwhelming. And the mushroom "cheesesteak" was LUSCIOUS. Really incredible, umami and earthy and rich but not too heavy, with light and slightly sweet bread. Sammies and other bites will run you $6-10. Frappes $13. They have other drinks as well, and desserts (Gracies Ice Cream). I can't wait to come back! read more

The mushroom steak and cheese was incredible, we enjoyed a couple Winter Hill Brewing Company beers, and ice-cream. The bathroom is also super cute and decked out in a Dolly Parton theme. Gracie's ice cream is so good. I'd only been to their Union Square location to get pints (and pick up a couple lawn flamingoes), but the clever and slightly unhinged Earnest Drinks enewsletter made me want to try the food and drinks at this location. I wasn't disappointed! The cocktails: amazing. The food: delicious. The dessert: stellar. I got the vegan bolognese and the pasta was so fresh, it had literally just been made. They didn't use gloves to serve ice cream ordering process is too much. U have to go through website to order. It takes 10 min to order a simple ice cream. They are worried about covid but they are not worried about bacteria. Use gloves! And make better website. read more
