I really enjoyed their selection of flavors, especially the pandan and ube. It's always fun to try something different, especially Asian-inspired flavors. The bathroom was especially fun, with its eclectic decorations. I would totally come back to try some more flavors!

First of all, their small is larger than it looks and it was only just over $5! I was like, "That's all?!" Secondly, they have unique flavors and combinations, from ube to pandan to brown sugar poptart. Thirdly, I loved my ice cream! They were flavorful and fun. The poptart one was like an explosion of sweetness, and I don't even like actual poptarts so they improved upon the food version of them significantly! They also have a cocktail menu and a handful of light food options like tater tots. I'm actually annoyed I didn't come here sooner, but now I know!

I don't give it 5 stars because some of the food doesn't hit it for me. The poutine is not great, and not very well seasoned when I tried it. Their turshi however is amazing. The cocktails is where the place shines - all fantastic, perfectly balanced and delicious. Service was warm and inviting. The front area feels closer to a coffee house or bookstore than a bar - which made it very cozy. I'd be interested in coming back for classes and workshops. While I do crave real chopped liver in lieu of eggplant or pastrami for beets - I honestly didn't feel like I was missing anything. Oh, and that dessert! Chocolate pave was so dang good.

Sometimes you have to wait in line but once you're seated the service is great. The staff checks in often and is extremely helpful. This is a great date night or hang out spot, it has a very relaxed atmosphere and feels like a cafe. Highly recommend!

We have been to Elixir several times before and each time, the superb service, great ambiance and delicious food have been noted. Then we went to devour the delicious Artichoke dip and lastly, their main courses, both of us had their evening sea bass special that kept us licking our fingers afterwards. Washed it down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Service was flawless.... We were able to leave with plenty of time to make the play and even do a little digestif walk. A superb place for dinner.

Food: salty, overcooked Service: not up to the standard…read moreexpected at this kind of restaurant at this price point The food came out with one dish, a very overcooked and tough chicken. The mushrooms on toast was so salty it was inedible as if it had been salted twice. Upon letting the waiter know the chicken was tough, instead of acknowledging and apologizing, he looked quizzically at us. He ultimately offered to make a new chicken but upon dropping off the new chicken, he did so without asking if the chicken was better the 2nd time around, until it was almost 3/4 eaten. However the water service was frequently refilled but that was the only highlight of the service. It was not busy so I don't think that could account for the missteps in service or food. Upon leaving, we shared the feedback with the front desk team and were offered the business card of the manager for the "next time we came by". Another manager asked for more details and apologized but didn't offer to address the issue any further.

Morrissey's is a vibe: you know when you enter a restaurant in a small town and you can sense all…read moreof the generations of history it holds? Yeah, that's the kinda spot Morrissey's is. This is a community favorite and for good reason: the seafood is exceptionally cooked and the classic lakeside, vintage feel is approachable and still well maintained. This trip, we went to Morrissey's three times for lunch/ice cream and once for dinner. For dinner, we sat in the main dining room. Admittedly, service was a bit slower than some people liked in our party (but I was okay with waiting for it, I'm on lake time!) that was the only qualm we had at dinner was how the service was slow because they are obviously understaffed. When we came for lunch with a smaller party, we decided to sit at the bar instead which is on the other side of the building and more of a dive bar feel: an Irish pub. All of the meals were great, but we preferred sitting in the bar and got much faster service there during our lunch. Of all of the food we've tried, my favorites were the fried scallop and the Cajun shrimp bruschetta. And the Mac and cheese was yummy! But everything has tasted great! And you can't go wrong with some ice cream! Make a reservation if you're planning on doing dinner, but expect a slower pace. So maybe have a snack or don't come starving and know it will be a little slower. But worth the wait in my opinion! Or sit at the bar if you're okay with music and a little bit of a louder environment during your meal with your party.
