The Reuben was perfectly grilled and rich in flavor and the fries were lightly crispy and well seasoned. The cocktails were fantastic with a good array of flavor profiles. Service was great, as well, and we were well attended to throughout. While it's not necessarily fine dining, I would definitely recommend as an excellent option for drinks or a casual meal with family or friends!

The food was prepared with love and prices felt fair for the quality we received. The cocktails is where the place shines - all fantastic, perfectly balanced and delicious. Service was warm and inviting. Our bartender did a great job of walking us through the menu, and had a delightful personality that genuinely added to our experience. The front area feels closer to a coffee house or bookstore than a bar - which made it very cozy. I'd be interested in coming back for classes and workshops. While I do crave real chopped liver in lieu of eggplant or pastrami for beets - I honestly didn't feel like I was missing anything. Oh, and that dessert! Chocolate pave was so dang good.

You really can't go wrong with them and they are a must try. I love the gelato in them, it really kicks them up a notch. I also got the espresso martini which was very very good too. Definitely a top 5 espresso martini. We also got an affogato and had baileys added to it- this was AMAZING! If you're into dessert drinks this is the best place for them. Sometimes you have to wait in line but once you're seated the service is great. The staff checks in often and is extremely helpful. This is a great date night or hang out spot, it has a very relaxed atmosphere and feels like a cafe. Highly recommend!

I had my laptop and was NOT doing any work on it. I just had it with me and I wasn't even planning to do work on it. I was there to get coffee. They came up to me and gave me attitude over it and them not wanting screens. I was like okay but then they walked off and didn't take our orders. They saw us leaving and asked if we wanted anything. We said "No! I said we respected your wishes and never disrespected your policy but instead of taking our orders you gave us shit and walked off." They obviously don't want customers.

Food is always on point and this is the one place I would break my food habit rules for. Every dish was divine from starter to finish. I think we had someone different serving us after a couple of courses, I loved seeing the same servers there year after year which means they treat staff well - huge plus in my book. Definitely will put this on our rotation for girl's night out. In case you've never seen baby seagulls before, here's a selfie with one! I took it right before I walked to the restaurant

Many guests were wearing shorts, just like us. When we asked if there were any tables available, the hostess first asked for our contact information. After seeing how we were dressed, another staff member came back and said, "We're fully committed right now. There are no tables available, you can sit at the bar." The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Whether intentional or not, it left us feeling like we were judged by our appearance rather than treated as paying customers. This was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I've had, especially on a holiday meant to be enjoyable.

The food alone is worth the trip, the chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right. You can tell they pay attention to the details, from the freshness to the balance of flavors. Even the sides felt thoughtfully prepared and not like an afterthought. What really elevated the visit, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely warm and welcoming without being overbearing. They seemed to take real pride in what they were serving, and it showed in the care they put into everything. The vibe is relaxed, friendly, and unpretentious, the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable. It has that small-town charm but with a level of quality that stands out. Hy's feels like a spot that truly cares about the full experience, not just the food. Definitely a place I'll be returning to.
