They have a large selection of ice cream flavors and the portions were huge. There are all the standard flavors and many unusual ones that make me want to come back so I can try them all. I had a regular size waffle cone and my companion had a regular size sundae. We both thought our ice creams were delicious. There does not appear to be indoor seating. There is a nice seating area on the front lawn, including a covered porch, a fire pit and a koi pond. Additionally, there is a small gift shop, which I did not have a chance to go in, but I will next time. We have added Blueberry Haus to our must do list for the summer. read more

Been missing this place a lot in the offseason. You kinda just have to stumble across it trying to get to Brattleboro but it's so much cuter than the downtown location in my opinion. This place embodies childhood summers for me and it's a mystery to me how no matter when I come here it's absolutely packed full. I love the frog pond with the koi fish and the blueberry bushes. Lots of seating, lots of picnic tables and benches and clear grass. They have a gift shop with some little home things. But this is THE BEST ice cream if you're in the area. This is hands down the best ice cream I've ever had. Outdoor patio is also very cool with a garden, rocking chairs and plenty of outdoor seating. So cute and lots of space to sit outside while socially distancing. Everyone had on masks (employees & patrons) while ordering and then the folks took their ice cream to go or sat outside in one of the areas more than 6 ft apart from each other. People then took their masks off & enjoyed their treats ...THEN, early in the evening on Aug 18th came a group of folks who had no masks on -none...not even pretending to keep others safe. I, and other customers, looked to see what would happen when they all went to the window to order- well, they stepped up to the masked employee, ordered mask-less - each one of them - and that was that. I believe it was to make a point and see what staff would do, since the older white man in the group had on a red MAGA baseball cap. The staff there is great, but young, and probably nervous to stand up to someone in this situation-but this is serious shit, and they have to have a manger there to ask people to please wear shirts, pants, masks - whatever they feel will keep their customers and employees safe. We were in the mood for local ice cream and the Blueberry Haus as a name was quite catchy so we ventured out and found it easily. I was hoping it was shaped like a blueberry, alas it was not. Plenty of parking and outside seating. The one thing that bothered me was it was apparent there was supposed to be social distancing and masks and there was a couple there who walked by us several times that didn't even have a mask on. Not sure why people ignore it when there are signs stating it's needed. They have a great selection of ice cream flavors. Some were very unique (and also hard to determine what they might be based on the name). We saw cheesecake key lime pie which we had never seen so went with a small cup of that and then I tried one of the flavors of the month - Apple pie (small in a cup). The ice cream came out fast and we settled down to eat it. The Apple pie was just okay. Seemed mostly a lovely vanilla flavor with cinnamon and I didn't taste much apple. I tried the cheesecake key lime pie and well, it quickly became mine. My dining partner is used to his lot in life ;) It was fantastic. I've never had an ice cream actually taste refreshing. We seriously considered getting a pint to bring back to the hotel to snarf down but were good and didn't get any more. We were going to go back before leaving the area and luck would have it we randomly turned a corner in downtown Brattleboro and found that location! Drove over for dessert one day while visiting my parents in Hinsdale. I grew up in Guilford and remember when this was an open field, and eventually just a small little shack for their blueberries with the hint of ice cream sales on the side. It's come so far in the many years since I've been gone. There were six of us and each person ordered something different. I ordered the maple walnut in the waffle cone. Two scoops. Scoops are big, so beware when ordering. We were able to find a table under the gazebo to enjoy our treats. The weather was hot, so it was a race to eat before it melted, but it was a race that we were happy to run. After eating, we took a browse through the gift shop for a few items to take home as gifts. The quality of the ice cream is way below the high Vermont standards people should expect. We tried the downtown Brattleborough location and couldn't have been more disappointed with the fat content and mouthfeel. So disappointed since I only have about one ice cream a month. Tourist trap, for people who don't know how good most Vermont dairy is. My wife bought a cookie dough ice cream in a waffle cone which was delicious. The price was a bit high but the quality was incredible. The staff here was polite and the service was quick. Went in today with my friend. I sampled 2 flavors, and he sampled 2 flavors. My friend ordered a small cone, and I wasn't that thrilled with what I tried so decided I didn't want anything. The lady helping us looked at us and dismissively said "After all that....?" Not sure why she had to remark that we were buying too little. It's not as though we were at a restaurant taking up a table and going to prevent better sales in the meantime. We mentioned this to a couple friends and they said that Blueberry Haus is also notorious for bad service and for being homophobic. :'/ read more

First, let me say, the ice cream is always delicious. But our visit last night was less than stellar. I know it's early in the season, but there were 3 very young kids running the place last night and they didn't seem to have any idea what was going on. It took an exceptionally long time to get our order and the employees really needed a lesson in food handling. There were no adults to be seen anywhere and that's fine if the kids know what they're doing, but they didn't. I do not blame these young kids, (and they looked very young, like 12-14). I blame the adults who left them in charge without proper training and/or supervision. I still gave 4 stars because their product is excellent and I assume this was probably (hopefully) a one-time occurrence. read more

What a cool little spot off a side road! We aren't from the area and decided to do a little exploring down the country roads and stumbled upon this Ice Cream place at night. Super cute place. I could see the flowers and looks like it would be very very pretty during the daylight. The spot has many flavors of ice cream to choose from with variety of cones, sundaes , bowls etc. They also have food as well like grilled cheese. My boyfriend and I shared the Junior sized cup of Blueberry ice cream. It was a good two scoops of ice cream and the Blueberry was super good! Looked like there were the blueberry trees in the backyard (remember it was night so it was hard to see) but because of the trees we decided to get something that would be fresh possibly off the tree. To make it even better, they have a fire pit with some chair around it and Kerosene lamps so you can stay warm at night. They do have chairs inside as well but we chose to stay outside. It just is.*** After stopping at this place for ten years it's time for an honest take. I guess we've stopped here for that long so it can't be that bad. (Note - no longer is it Blake's ice cream. That's an improvement.) Nice setting in rural Guilford, VT, which partially makes up for their routinely poor service that is almost always slow, unless there is absolutely no one there. Try not to visit here on a weekend when you will find the owners are often off with their truck / mobile ice cream stand attending some fair, festival or pagan dance ritual. A profitable time for them no doubt, however the take out windows at the home front are typically left manned by two disinterested college/high school students. Low labor costs for management - very high time loss for customers. (By the way, the owners seem to be nice folks. Hint to owners - train that staff!!) Pricing per serving is in line with others. Guilford location also sports a small gift shop (more maple syrup anyone??), and a tidy but rarely open snack bar. The better bet is to go to their ice cream outlet on Elliot Street in downtown Brattleboro where the service is reliable and usually quite good. Such a cute little shop! I was desperate for some ice cream after having lunch nearby in Brattleboro, and this place fit the ticket. They have about 10-15 flavors - I was SO excited to see their featured flavor was cherry vanilla, which is one of my absolute favorites!
