My 4yr old is obsessed w/ crystals and stones

The views at this store are worth stopping by for but also, the store itself has all the goodies you could find. The staff are friendly and it's such a cute place to browse around and buy souvenirs at. I loved their selection of Vermont maple syrups, coffees, cheeses, handmade candy and kitschy items. Definitely order a dozen of their cider donut balls. We couldn't stop eating them paired with coffee. I ended up getting a hoodie, a dish cloth and this beautiful cardinal ornament for our Christmas tree. Definitely would plan to stop by again when in the area!

This is the place to go for Vermont souvenirs. There is a wonderful view of the mountains from their observation deck. I used to come here as a kid on our way to visit my aunt. What memories! Today, we purchased Vermont Distillery liquors after free tasting. The lady was really sweet and we enjoyed talking to here. The store offers everything from local maple syrup and cheese to scenic calendars and tee shirts. There were a few odd items such as red hit sausages from Michigan. Prices are a little high but I also had an ice cream cone $2.50 for one scoop. The cone was on the cheesy side but the ice cream was rich and creamy. I tried the coffee heath bar. There is s museum downstairs and there is a charge to visit. We were in a hurry so did not visit. The parking lot is s little hairy to leave.

What a cute shop ! We stopped here on a way back to Oklahoma. I'm so glad our directions took us this way. The view was absolutely stunning and being it was right at the peak of the foliage made for a breathtaking view! For the store it was busy but super cute so many options and I wanted one of everything lol. The workers were so sweet . I grabbed a Maple mustard and have used it with pretzels yum. We also grabbed a few gifts for the kiddos !

Amazing view from this shop. They have coffee and fudge and all types of maple products and food. They have great gifts like sweatshirts homemade bowls and dishes, Vermont jellies, pickled items, and my favorite part was the squash penny machines. The staff there is friendly and knowledgeable about the products. There are cheese samples and other samples around the store for you to try. They also have older type candies such as rock candy and Charlston chews. They have a wider range of sodas and beverages including a line of sodas that has silly names and cute pictures on the bottle. There's some type of bird museum connected to the gift shop which was very affordable however I didn't have a lot of time to check out. This is definitely a place that I will stop by again and bring friends. The views are absolutely gorgeous. I recommend!

What a fun place to shop! They were doing a bourbon tasting when we were there which as great fun! My husband got some maple bourbon which was beyond yummy. I also took home some maple shortbread cookies the were a delicious indulgence. I also got a beautiful mug that I had been using every morning since we got home, but the handle snapped off in the dishwasher (yes, it was on the top rack, and no, it didn't say to hand wash it only). So I might have to do a return trip to VT to get another one because I really loved it! Go and check out this fun shop! And there's a brewery across the street!

I love this gift shop. I haven't been here in almost 20 years because I now live super far away, but had to bring the family here as we were passing through the mountains. Oddly enough, we bumped into a couple from Summerville, SC, which is only a couple towns away from where we now live. Inside the gift shop, we stocked up on maple products and all things Vermont that I could bring home to SC with us, and we took some amazing pictures from the deck, where you can see for miles (100 miles perhaps). We also left with some ice cream and refreshments. Friendly service and lots of stuff to look at. Did I mention that there's also a museum? No kidding. Best gift shop ever.

When I think of Hogback Mountain, it's the mountain overlook (large bend) on Route 9 between Brattleboro and Wilmington where I have to slow down considerably because the roadway along this section can get very slippery during wet and cold/snowy/icy weather (I've had some close calls) and there's also quite a bit of vehicular and pedestrian activity, so be careful. Hogback Mountain was a fully functional ski area back in the day and closed in the mid 1980s. The Hogback Mountain Gift Shop is located along the outer curve of Route 9, overlooking the scenic landscape and mountains to the south & east towards Massachusetts and New Hampshire. It's a very popular place for tourists to stop for a breather and to enjoy the great views. There are Bausch & Lomb coin-operated binoculars with dial to see various scenic places far away. On a good clear day, you can see the Holyoke Range (MA), Mt. Monadnock (NH) and the White Mountains (NH). The Gift Shop offers tourist information, food (plastic wrapped sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cream, snacks, baked goods), coffee, cold beverages, cheese, VT maple products, jar goods, wine, fresh fudge counter, souvenirs, gifts, apparel (VT shirts & more), toys, Webkinz collection, and more. If you have time, be sure to take a visit to the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum located next door to the Gift Shop. (http://www.vermontmuseum.org/)

    Maple sundae
    Alex L.

The maple sundae was delicious. Maple sugar + maple syrup + locally-Vermont made ice cream, pitched over the views of the Smoky Mountains = quite literal heaven. We are not sure how we ended up here, but knew that when we came to the overlook with dozens of mountain peaks that we had to make a stop. The Hogback Mountain Gift Shop was next door, so we grabbed a maple sundae to share as we basked in the awesome views with our own binoculars. This was a perfectly rejuvenating rest stop on our way up to Portland, ME.

Lots of great local nick nacks. But the best thing is the views and the swirl ice cream. If you can find a parking spot GO!

For breakfast we enjoyed a bagel with lox, the breakfast sandwich and the eggs Benedict which we would order all again (in fact we did haha). For dinner we had a few wings and salad one evening and a more formal dinner for Valentine's Day. We had the lobster ravioli and the Braised Short Ribs which were absolutely fantastic. What made the experience that much better was our waitress Kate. We requested to have her a second night because of how fun, helpful and accommodating she was to us. On Valentine's Day a few things that could have put a damper on our evening were handled very professionally and we really appreciated it. Kate, if you're reading this, thank you so much for making our time visiting The Copper Grouse such an enjoyable experience!

However, we made it to their restaurant and it did not disappoint! The Copper Grouse had a very enticing menu so I was excited for this dinner. We started with the beef tartare app which was SO good that I cannot stop talking about it. I would typically go for a tuna tartare but this was excellent! For dinner, I ordered the Garganelli pasta dish. It was light and creamy. And ended the meal with one of their dessert specials that had white chocolate raspberry ice cream with strawberries - it was delightful. The restaurant itself was pretty cozy. Lots of high top and standard table seating along with a bar. They offered outdoor seating on the porch as well. There was also a fire pit set up outside with plenty of Adirondack chairs - I saw people drinking by the fire but I'm not sure if food is served in that area. Our server, Molly, was awesome!! Next time we are in Manchester, I plan to stay here - it's close enough to walk to town and the hotel / restaurant are highly recommended!

The Veal was ok but seemed like it could of have been previously frozen. Not to mention, these two entrees alone cost us ~$80. The appetizers were far better than the entrees. We honestly could of ordered wings and French onion soup and that would have been a better option. The salad was the best thing they served us. And no, not any of the salads on the menu, the complimentary salad that is served by the restaurant. Service - There was one waiter for the entire restaurant. He was really nice and seemed like a good guy, but they probably need to give him some help. We didn't get our drinks until about 30 mins into being at the restaurant and the entrees took over an hour to show up. The two stars here are for our servers positive and friendly attitude.
