I stopped in yesterday to buy parts to fix 4 bracelets. The person at the counter was extremely helpful and ended up fixing them for me. I didn't have to buy a special glue for just one project or bags of several parts to fit the others. Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and customer oriented. I feel well taken care off. Can't wait to go again. read more

Fabulous items, great prices, kid friendly atmosphere and staff (with the notable exception of one employee...), very knowledgeable about rocks, minerals and the like. Lovely store and lovely people but I do miss their old location ! hope they settle into their new space soon read more

It's nice to see that with the everchanging face of Brattleboro, a few shops can withstand the test of time. Beadniks has been around forever, and when I was in town visiting my family, I stopped in with my wife for a browse. So many rocks, gems, beads, and other things to occupy our time on the rainy day that we chose to visit. My wife found a few things to take home with us, and then came back with my daughter and niece, and they brought home a ton of treasures. They chose not to make the necklaces and bracelets in the store due to time constraints, but bought all of the materials to make them at home later. Friendly service from the moment we walked in to the point where we checked out. read more

Great place. An incredible amount of beads and crystals are available. Everything is nice and organized. A great place to buy gifts and things to make jewelry. read more

I'm new to the state of Vermont. This is my 3rd time to Brattleboro which has just seemed ok until I walked into this store. This store is super cool. They have lots of gems/mineral specimen polished stones, a few different raw unpolished fossils, and large raw minerals. They seem to have a wide verity of wire wrapping, needlepoint, meditation supplies ect... The place was very clean with a nice layout, and airy. There was no clutter or dust anywhere. Some places I can't stand to shop in cause the smell but again this place was awesome. My wife and I enjoyed our experience. She also said they sold natural oil/fragrance perfumes. Will be back since this is our favorite store in the state. read more

Last week while walking through Brattleboro we dropped in to Beadniks and the first thing that came out of my mouth was wow! To my amazement, this arts and crafts store was fairly large for what it appears to be. They had an incredible selection of beads, as well as other arts and crafts materials. One things that I really loved about the store was the way they presented their items and the decorations that they had. This store was like stepping back in time, and the retro feel was great! They had a ton of vintage board games as well as other hands on items to look at. The price is here we're also fairly reasonable for a smaller shop. Overall, I really love this store and can't wait to go back. They have so many items that I couldn't soak it all in during one sitting. Moral of the story, don't miss this place if you are in the area! read more

This is a must stop place while you are in Brattleboro! The establishment has been here forever and they never disappoint. I purchased a purse made out of canvas material that was priced really well. I've been looking for a recycled canvas bag for some time now, and they had a few choices. I like the back of the shop where they have kids toys, some are "vintage" and quite adorable, bringing back memories. The folks here are pleasant and always have a smile on their face. read more

If I could give 0 stars for this shop I would... my family and I were visiting from out of state and the woman who works the front counter was VERY rude. I asked her a question about how to pronounce an item in their store and she blatantly ignored me and then gave me an attitude when I was about to check out. I ended up putting everything back and WILL NEVER come back to this location. So sad to see such a small business be so ignorant and rude to customers who are helping their business during these troubled times. read more

Beadnicks = bead heaven. This place has been a frequent source of inspiration ever since I was a wee high schooler. Providing materials for the beginner crafter up to the tastes of a master beadworker, they have everything you could hope for. They even have little dishes for you to make your own jewelry at the store -- how cool is that? I've seen the store undergo several different layout changes, and the recent setup really works. (Check on the feng shui!) They have crystals and other stones and minerals when you walk in on the left. Then a section on chains, ribbons, hooks, pins, and other jewelers making tools and supplies. Beads and are placed on tables on the middle all the way down and on the right hand side -- there's even an old bathtub full of them! There are also a couple of glass cases with antique and very African (?) looking jewelry. The back of the store is dedicated to children's toys, old arcade games, post cards and other unique gifts and knickknacks. I highly recommend stopping in, just for the experience and even more so if you're a crafty person. You'll definitely be leaving inspired! read more

Beadniks is part bead store, part gift and novelty store. They have a good selection of interesting hand carved bone and wood beads, and some nice glass, metal and semi precious stone beads. The selection is quite paltry when it comes to seed beads and Swarovski crystals, so, if you're a beader, go for the more one of a kind types of beads that you might not find at others places, as that seems to be what they specialize in here...Bohemian art glass and African beads especially. They have some nice beaded jewelry items for sale too. The staff is friendly and helpful, the vibe is good and I like the scent of incense wafting through the air. read more

Do you make jewelry? Do you do other crafts that involve beads (clearly, I don't!)? Do you like kitsch? If you answered yes to any of the above questions OR even if you answered no, it's time for a visit to Beadniks. When I lived in Vermont I used to come over to Brattleboro on the weekends, probably 1-3 times a month for the five years I lived there. Beadniks was a place where I always stopped. Even though I haven't made jewelry in ages I still love to visit when I'm back in Vermont every other year. They have beautiful beads, handmade goods, all kinds of ready-to-wear accessories, and awesome kitschy gifts. I have always loved the huge tub of bulk beads. While some of their stuff is expensive it is of fantastic quality. They have many types of beads in every imagineable color and also have all the beading accessories needed for a beader's toolkit. My only gripe is that the staff is hit or miss and when they are miss they are downright awful to deal with either because they are completely out of it or seem like they don't want to be bothered. When I'm at the cash register I expect a little courtesy! read more

Fantastic shop with knowledgeable staff. My daughter was able to get the sones she was looking for and prices were really good.

OMG I love this store. I've been wanting to make a beaded necklace and I'm so glad I found this place. Idk anything about making necklaces, but the employee was so helpful and really nice! Great atmosphere! 10/10 recommend! Im so happy about my cute beads!!:) read more

A fantastic mix of beads, toys, and collectibles. As you'd expect, incredible selection of beads. I found myself lost in the toys section located at the rear of the store. There are a few arcade games as well! There's even a "Bead museum?" I wasn't fortunate enough to see it as it was closed, but I'd expect it to be the same flavor as the rest of the shop. read more

Beadniks is one of my favorite stores in Brattleboro. For jewelery makers, crafty sorts, etc. there is a wide selection of beads (from clay to glass to metal) as well as needles, threads, lanyards, clasps, etc. Not only that, but they also have fun and funky gift ideas which make it an easy place to drop into for holiday shopping. There are fun little gag gifts as well as interesting hand-made items from various local artisans. There is something different every time I go in - it's what keeps me coming back! read more

Desiree was careless with checking out at the register and overcharged me. Called and emailed owner but have not heard a response. Disappointed by the lack of honesty. read more

Super fun shop. If I had hours to spend here I would have checked out the beads as there were so many to choose from. Beads & everything that goes along with beading, incense, post cards, pins, wool felt, yarn, "novelty" toys like the Fischer Price rotary phone, crazy straws, silly putty, marbles.... It was fun to see what they had & say, "Oh I had that when I was a kid!" & "Oh I had that too!" Only complaint? Post cards were $1.35 each. EACH. Ouch. Will we be back? Oh yes. read more

Fun and quirky gift shop and jewelry-making emporium. This is always one of my first stops when hunting for something interesting. They have already made jewelry, toys for kids AND grownups, cards, knick-knacks, beautiful scarves, and (of course) tons of beads and other supplies. Play the skee-ball! read more

Adorable and different! Some cute trinkets and unique jewelery ... Plus if you're crafty lots and lots of beautiful beads!
