This is a great stop for unique gifts by Vermont artists (though there are items from elsewhere as well). On one side of the store you can find slabs of wood and some unique furniture pieces. On the other side is more of a gift shop with some incredibly beautiful hand-crafted wooden bowls, boards, utensils, and more. You can also find pottery by Vermont artists in varying styles. The ladies who were in the store were helpful, but left us alone to roam and discover. This is NOT a bargain place. If you're looking for a touristy stop for cheap souvenirs, move along. This is an artisan shop and the artists' know their worth. Expect to pay appropriately for the artistry and time it takes to create these beauties.

Burned into the bottom of each bowl is John McLeod's signature, as well as care instructions and Vermont Bowl's logo. They are truly works of art and the wood! The wood is simply stunning. With Donna's expert help, we chose Yellow Birch in the Tulip shape, as the color would show off the image well and the shape would make it easy to burnish. The customer service was fast, the shipping was very reasonable, and the product terrific. We are so proud to give this hand-crafted gift to our good friends. We are sure they will order a matching family-sized salad bowl to go with. What a find!

I popped into Jasper Decor while waiting for my food order next door and while the store isn't huge, it's actually very small, it's packed with beautiful trinkets of all kinds; jewelry, knick-knacks, home decor, candles, room sprays, scarfs, prints, etc. It was a bit overpriced for my budget but I did pick up two very adorable cast iron elephant bottle openers; one for myself and one as a gift for my best friend. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the Wilmington area and are looking for some unique gift ideas or inspiration.

I was in Vermont for a wedding and decided to walk around the village of Wilmington. The town is…read morequaint and has all the charm you would expect in a small Vermont hamlet. What I didn't expect was a top-notch consignment store, but The Fashion Plate is just that! The interior is quirky as the store is in a historic colonial home, but that made the shopping experience all the more unique and fun. The prices are very reasonable and there is a wide-range from designer to accessible, every day pieces. There are also clothes and accessories for men, children, pets, and the home. The staff were friendly and welcoming, but they also gave me the space to browse without feeling pressured to buy, which for me is a major plus. I spent about 45 minutes browsing and trying on items so I would suggest giving yourself time to really explore the entire store--as one reviewer noted there is a lot to see (but I did not think this was an issue--more treasures to find!). My haul from the Fashion Plate included a vintage Chanel necklace, Chanel cashmere gloves (odd buy in July but winter is coming--haha), Lanvin ballet flats, deadstock Gucci blooms purse, Chanel wedges (I ended up wearing these to the wedding), a Henri Bendel backpack, a cool painting, and a pair of Chanel cambon ballet flats. They only stock authentic items (they explained their rigorous authentication process) and I appreciate that commitment to not selling replica goods. There was so much more to tempt me! I will certainly be back to shop this fun boutique.

Cash only folks)... turns out going to Wilmington for syrup is a lot like going to Target for toothpaste. Who knew such a fashion mecca could exist on the outskirts of a forest? Seriously, the owner's buying game is on point. I think I walked into the dressing room with at least 40 items. None of which would be useful for a weekend of camping. But all of which were great brands, new or basically new, ridiculously cute and so reasonably priced. But don't worry. I also got my syrup. Let's hope I don't spill it on all my new fashion finds.

Meghan did a beautiful job reupholstering our antique chair. The fabric, padding, and several of…read morethe tacks were badly damaged and needed replacing but the springs, frame, and wheels were in good shape. She gave us beautiful choices of fabric that connected the chair to its original look with a modern take. Much of the work required hand sewing. Very pleased with the result and will definitely be bringing more chairs from our old farmhouse for Meghan to work her magic!
