As we pulled up to this place, there was hugeeeeee lines on a hot Sunday night, was it worth the wait? After passing the lines we pulled into the parking lot and had to circle about 10 minutes just find a spot all the way in the back of the parking lot in the weeds lol. So long lines and no parking has to equal out to great ice cream, right!? We get out of the car and walk to the front and jump on one of the two lines which is literally out their doors and almost to the street, while you're waiting on line you can look at the GIANT wooden board with tons of flavors! Even standing there waiting for a good amount of time I still had a hard time choosing what I was potentially going to get. While we're waiting and slowly moving up, I was getting eaten alive by bugs and I'm thinking to myself.."man this better be worth it"! Also noticed it was cash only at this point, which was ok because we were on vacation and had some. So we finally get to the front and move inside, I picked a double scoop of Mexican churro chocolate and rocky road, the cone was gigantic! I couldn't even finish it and I rarely throw out something I like lol. Ice cream was awesome, wish I went back and tried another 2 or 30 flavors! Scoop Deck is a MUST VISIT if you're in Wells! Insane amount of flavors that you can't get anywhere else, super friendly staff, and very generous scoops (order above a small with caution!) Also, as someone with a severe food allergy, they get my seal of approval - I've been going to them my whole life (at my own risk, they are upfront about the fact there is always a chance of cross contamination), but I have never had a problem with them. Friends told us about this gem. Such a HUGE selection of ice cream. But they don't sacrifice quality for selection. Their quality is great and the price is abnormally affordable for such large portions. I usually get 2 scoops wherever I go, but here, I got a 'small' which was equivalent to what I normally get elsewhere. Loved the whole experience!! SUMMERTIME BLUES is the one. It has mascarpone, blueberries, and amazingness in-between It was a beautiful summer day when I went. We had come from the Wells beach and were looking to change scenery a bit. From the beach, it was only about a few min drive luckily. We all sat outside in the picnic table to enjoy the awesome ice cream and the spacious sprawl of low-cut grass. By the way, the portion was much much bigger than any other "small" sized scoops I'd seen!! So I'd highly recommend finishing the ice cream at the table before driving off. With even the small size, it was impossible to finish clean. In fact, I've had to use quite a few napkins to clean myself. Absolutely no complaints with the huge size though - I happened to choose just the best flavor! Summertime blues was so good. It was a unique flavor I've never had anywhere else, and one that would make the day special. Trust me, I'm not the one with the most eclectic preferences when it comes to ice-cream flavors; I generally go for variations of coffee or chocolate. This one wins over any of those hackneyed classics. With it, finishing the huge size wasn't a challenge really, I admit :P. I gotta warn against just one thing: six-flavor tester comes in a form of a pyramid. 3 flavors on the bottom-tier, then 2 in the middle, and one on top. Visual might be thrilling, but not sure if it's the most practical design for ice-cream consumption. You'll be in a sad race against time and will be put in a desperate position to work the ice-cream while your friends watch your struggle with amusement and pity. My two friends ended up throwing out the half-eaten mess after deciding that drinking the ice-cream juice wasn't an option. I agreed. They only take cash, but have an ATM at the place. No one has ever mentioned anything about it being expensive in fact we normally concentrate on the ENORMOUS portion sizes. Everything here is good. Go with your gut I normally pick my good old favorites of either Peppermint Stick - which is a treat bc they have it all year round when many companies keep it a seasonal thing- or anything else with mint in it. You really can't go wrong here and remember it is always worth the line. After you order you can take your to go cup or cone to the back yard where they have an open small field and picnic tables during the day. If you are in Wells or the area this is a MUST. read more
