However, great interior and good curb appeal, really sets the mood. Our waiter was great and his attitude got us back on track. The menu isn't large, but had some interesting food. We later found out food is new as an offering to the distillery so maybe more options down the road. All our cocktails were outstanding!!! The food, presented well, good portions but needs work on flavor & seasonings.

We were third in line to check in and the host pretty much ignored the line. There were plenty of tables, but he was hyper focused on everything except the people wanting a table. He finally sat a couple and assisted someone with their take out order. We were next. He wouldn't even look at us - he started packing a few take out orders then finally acknowledged us. No smile, just "Hi." Judd was our server and he was good. He did what he was supposed to, but was also quite busy and never checked on us and didn't ask about refills on drinks until we were finished our food. At $4 per soda, we would have wanted that refill. I ordered the haddock picatta and my husband ordered the fish and chips. Both dishes looked impressive with large portions, but both pieces of fish were overcooked and the fish and chips was dry. Both dishes were flavorless. Like zero salt. The only thing that had any flavor on my dish was the mashed potatoes. This place is now on the list of "never again."

They also have locations in South Berwick and Exeter, NH. They serve up burgers, hot dogs, homemade onion rings, crinkle cut fries, chili cheese fries, shakes, and cold drinks (Coke products) from the cooler. Burgers, hot dogs, and fries can be made dirty style for $1.25 more which is house sauce and sauteed onions. The prices here seem fair. The place is order at the counter and there is table seating with blue metal chairs and booth back seats and high top tables with stools, spread out more than their other locations, Exeter seating area is cramped. I made two visits to Lee Frank's over the past two weeks. On the visit last week, I ordered a loaded (not dirty) Cheeseburger ($6.25 plus tax), Red Baron Hot Dog ($4.75 plus tax), Chili Cheese Fries ($5.50 plus tax), and a Special Tropical Punch Shake ($5.50 plus tax). My food was ready in about 10 minutes after ordering and brought out by staff on a tray. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Dirty Style Cheeseburger ($7.50 plus tax) and Dirty Style Fries ($4.75 plus tax), this time through the Toast app. My order was all set in about 7 minutes. I enjoyed my food in shop both times. The Red Baron Dog was loaded with red cabbage & brown mustard over grilled hot dog which had a snap to the bite in a soft hot dog bun. The Cheeseburger was grilled well done beef patty with melted American cheese with plenty of mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles on a soft bun. The chili cheese fries had golden crinkle cut fries topped with cheese sauce and meat chili. The tropical punch shake was thick and sweet, which was a vanilla shake mixed with Hawaiian Punch Polar Blast, topped with green jimmies. The dirty style loaded cheeseburger and dirty style fries were both very messy and the addition of the house sauce and the sweet sauteed onions is a real game changer. Overall, the greasy goodness of Lee Frank's was very tasty and messy each time and worth the drive!

I had the scallops with lobster spinach risotto which was amazing. The sea scallops were cooked perfectly as was the risotto. It was one of those meals where you eat slowly becasue you don't want it to end. My wife had the mixed grilled seafood seafood which was delicious. The manager was very personable and was busy setting up the outdoor patio heaters. Our waiter kept the fire in the fire pit going. We ate outside and took a look inside and the quirky charm of this place continued there too. I don't leave a lot of 5 star ratings but this place earned it. We're from Rhode Island but we'll be back next year.

Very kid and dog friendly. Plus super cool bar with fun decor. Just 5 cocktails on their list, but all unique. I had the Backbar Sidecar w/ Makers Mark whiskey, fresh lemon and housemade blackberry puree; wow! Will have to try this at home. Then we had an order of the Fried Clams, which were so tender and juicy with light crispy batter, and steamed mussels Provençal with white wine, garlic, fresh herbs, lemon and tomato - really delicious.. Salads and entrees looked great, too. We came back two days later with a group of friends and had drinks on the lawn in the Adirondack chairs, which was really wonderful. They had a great band scheduled to play at 5 PM, but alas we were heading home for dinner. Will definitely be back!

My Mom ordered a cup of chowder, thank goodness she didn't order the bowl because she said it was absolutely awful. To be fair, their menu does explain how theirs is different from typical chowder. My Mom said it was really watery and had no flavor. Luckily she also ordered some shrimp, whichi took a while to come out but were great. I ordered the chicken breast plain sandwich with no tomatoes, fried, and a side Caesar salad with blue cheese dressing. They brought it out with the tomato, good thing I am not allergic to tomatoes. The sandwich was great, tons of chicken and it wasn't too dry. I learned about "buckie" rolls and that they are soft and break easily. I ended up eating my chicken with a fork!! I needed more dressing and the server didn't bring in a timely fashion, the lettuce being wilted by the time she brought it. The pickle on the plate was good, but the fries were just OK. We were able to get a window seat in the bar, which made for a nice start to our Maine vacation. I would come here again, and would probably order the same thing. My mom, however, would probably not!!
