Dr. Schwartz is a kind, gentle, personable and a very experienced Doctor. He brings back the word humanity to health care. He is an excellent listener and knows exactly what needs to happen for your wellness. I walked in with great pain in both my ears. He methodically cared for each ear prescribed some medicine, smiled and said "You will be fine." His office is in a gym complex which is not conventional but who cares! No glitz and glamour which is not necessary and way overrated. There is ample parking and frankly it's the doctor you're looking for! I had an upcoming appointment this Wednesday 1/14 and just canceled before even going in. At the time of making my appointment some weeks ago, I had a conversation with the receptionist on how things go at this office, as I am new to ENT doctors. She advised me that she would give me a call some days before my appointment to let me know how much I would need to pay at my appointment after she would speak with my insurance company. Today is Monday and I still hadn't received a call so I called myself to ask what info she had. She advised that she didn't have any info and I responded that I was told I would get info beforehand. She explained that she would call the day of my appt and started getting an attitude. She became rude and started going off about how she's so busy and doesn't have time for this. I am starting my journey to fix certain health issues at an ENT and I'm not sure how long I'll have to be coming into this office. Getting this type of response so early on, I knew I wouldn't be able to even come in to a hostile environment where the priority is not of people's health and where they're already showing a lack of empathy. I have been a patient since 2017. He is the only doctor i trust with my family. He knows his stuff, is very direct and nonsense but with great bedside manners. He loves his staff and him. I saw a 1 star review blaming the office staff for insurance missed information. I trained students in Billing and Coding. The contractual agreement is between the owner of the policy (93 yr old mom) and the insurance company. It's the insuranced's responsibility to know what is or isn't covered. Next time, call the customer service number on your card and ask them and stop blaming other's for your lack of performance. read more

Initially I came to Dr Schwartz for my own hearing issues (he said I was fine and sent me to a hearing test which I did great at lol, the hearing test place said perhaps I had selective hearing). If I'm completely honest, At first i picked him off a list because he has the same name as my favorite speaker. My experience with him was great, he has a very serious yet playful demeanor. I've been to enough doctors to covet this, most doctors are complacent and dismissive. You either get what I'm saying or you don't. Office is a bit unconventional, back corner of a soccer/physical therapy gym? I don't know and I don't care why. Some of the reviews on here seem to be put off by this but I think it's irrelevant. I also go to city of hope hospital.... they have a Starbucks, is the hospital in a coffee shop or is the coffee shop in the hospital. See what I mean? Who cares. Front desk Staff is phenomenal, really nice, informative and accommodating. So the last few months, a family friend who looks after my boyfriend's dad tells me she's having so much ear pain etc etc etc. Obviously I felt terrible for her but thought she had it under control. Seemed like she was going to get it looked at and was going to get it resolved. Fast forward 5 MONTHS later, she's still saying the same thing, she's seems so defeated and is waiting for approval from her insurance to see a specialist. In the mean time I can tell she's suffering so bad, I can't stand it. I don't see her often but on that day we had plans to meet up for something else, I called the office around 130pm and tried to avoid explaining the whole situation to the receptionist, just that I was hoping that there was something available the same day. She tells me that the soonest opening is next week. I'm sad, my kidnapping plan seems impossible. My friend is modest and would never agree to let me arrange this formally. The receptionist who is browsing the schedule sees that there's an opening in about 30 minutes but jokingly says I won't make it. BET. I took her up on it immediately. I simultaneously uber my friend to the office without explaining anything, she also can't really hear me clearly so she's yessing me along (LOL) meanwhile I drive to the office to meet her up. I can't pick her up because the direction of her house and the office are opposite and the timing wouldn't work. The friend and i both get there at 1:59pm, she doesn't know why we're at the gym (lol even more) I finally tell the front desk what the heck is going and why all these bizarre events are occurring. They were so warm, supportive, and cheering me on like we had scored the winning point. We were all on the same team! Finally the caretaker is being taken care of. Dr Schwartz listened to a long convoluted explanation of how this ear problem started and gave clear and easy instructions on how to solve it. His exam was very thorough and his bedside manner was extremely patient and kind. He mapped out a plan, conservative at first (things to practice at home), gave a prescription in the case that didn't work and needed escalation, and explained the worst case scenario's solution if it came to it. From the one visit he had a firm hold on which direction he was taking things. A few days later, my friend calls me and tells me how much better she feels, she went home and did what he told her to do. She's so overjoyed. Hearing is so precious and can make you feel so isolated and depressed when you're robbed of it. At the end of the day we're nobodys but it made the world of difference to her and Dr Schwartz really listened and treated us with compassion. I've been receiving good general care from Dr. Schwartz, I enjoy his personable demeanor and he's very knowledgeable, but this review is primarily about the location of his "office". His office/exam room is inside the small, windowless, back room of a large warehouse-turned-indoor soccer facility that also houses a physical therapy gym which is immediately adjacent to the receptionist desk for Dr. Schwartz. Every time I come, the "waiting area" (3 chairs if you're lucky) is always some different kind of chaotic scene while I try to not awkwardly stare at the people who are receiving intimate physical therapy right in front of me. Today there are half a dozen elementary school aged kids yelling and running all around me while loud rap music blares from another open gym space just down down the hallway, and the cacophony of soccer balls being launched at the wall echoes across the facility. The setting definitely doesn't resemble any kind of medical office I've ever been to, and that's not really a good thing. I'm already several visits into trying to get some throat things sorted and don't want to derail things or start over, otherwise I would definitely encourage you to find an ENT who is located in an actual professional medical setting. With all these other reviews saying he's been practicing for 35+ years, I expected him to be seeing his patients in an environment that's not so jarring and unsettling. I feel like his expertise and client base definitely warrants a more welcoming and professional setting. read more

I'm writing for my wife, who dislikes all things IT and social media. We went to Dr Schwartz for a third opinion about congestion near her ears. I accompanied her because she is not a strong communicator and I wanted to be certain everything necessary was said and heard. She dealt with the office staff and that was apparently a painless process. We do have good PPO insurance--I suppose if you don't get that straight at the start you could be frustrated. I echo all the positive comments below. Even though we were late completing my wife's paperwork, Dr Schwartz was patient and thorough. He explained things well to her. He pointed at the illustration on the wall, demonstrated a technique to clear her congestion, suggested 3 possible approaches to address her issue, and identified follow-up options. Called them to set appointment for my 93 yr old mom. Person who took information asked what kind of insurance she had, Medicare with a supplemental. Ok, made appointment for Monday January 10. Mom is taken there and they turned her away because she doesn't have "the right insurance ". Maybe if they had the brains to tell me what is " the right insurance " I could have saved a lot of wear and tear on my mom. I went to Dr. Schwartz because I read a ton of 5-star reviews, and they were ALL TRUE! This guy is the nicest, warmest doctor around. Not only did he take care of my issue swiftly, but he gave me a fascinating mini-lecture about the ear, complete with a professorial pointer and wall diagrams! I love this guy! I received excellent care from Dr. Schwartz. His manner was firm but friendly--sincerely one of the best medical practitioners I have interacted with in my life, and I don't visit doctors often. Perhaps this is where the problem begins--I tend to avoid doctors after spending nearly a decade (the better part of my 20s) uninsured. Now that I have a job with good insurance, I've grown accustomed to paying a co-pay and receiving a bill later on. That is not the practice here, and that is why I can't give a higher rating. There is an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper posted in a window that discloses this business practice, and apparently it was listed in documents I signed before receiving care; still, I was a bit upset after I sat in a chair for ~20 minutes, walked out, and was asked to fork over +$200. Lesson learned; going forward I will always ask the following questions when scheduling an appointment: 1. What do you normally charge for a first-time visit? 2. Do you expect payment at the time of the visit? This rant is probably unnecessary for people who use healthcare regularly, but I was annoyed when I was asked for $205 at the time of service. read more

I have been going to this doctor for 2years now. Dr. Schwartz is the nice friendly version of Dr. House. M.D.. I went to many other Dr.s about my sinus and ear problems. Everyone other Dr. wanted to do surgery first declaring it a deviated septum problem. Dr. schwartz put it all together did a complete exam and came up with the correct diagnosis eliminating the surgery course. All better now. I stopped in here due to a sinus/nasal blockage that had been persisting for more than 10 days. Dr. Schwartz explained the entire nasal system and why passages were possibly irritated. He also took some extra time and asked me about my diet. I told him my cholesterol was a bit high, and he recommended I look up the Mediterranean Diet. He also talked about the power of whole grains. He went way beyond just helping me with my sinus problems. He did a thorough examination and told me to just keep using my saline nasal mist, and things should clear up in a few days. Several months ago, I had a plugged ear after using Debrox, an over the counter drop to remove built up wax. After the Debrox dissolved the ear wax, it pushed the wax further into my ear and I had a plugged left ear. It was extremely uncomfortable. I did some research online and found Dr. Schwartz. He had an appointment the next day and sure enough, I took that appointment. The doctor's bedside manner was courteous and professional, qualities that sound simple but are somewhat hard to find nowadays. It turns out I had compacted earwax. He cleaned out both my ears. My wife has a serious vertigo. Other ENT doctors are all booked up. Dr. Harmon is the only doctor nearby and who can gave us an appointment immediately. We were concerned about the reviews made by the other patients and the fact that appointment is readily available does not sit well with us. Turned out everything went well. Dr. Harmon was very patient, meticulous and very experienced. We are very pleased with him. I do highly recommend him. The clinic may be a bit old but, hey, we need a good doctor, not a flashy office which you can only have an appointment two weeks away and probably need to wait for 60 minutes anyway. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE I was desperate to see a doctor because I was sick for over a month. I found this office through my provider's website. Sweet! That means that they take my insurance! Awesome! I called them up and got an appointment two days later. I walked into the place. The front desk had attitude and the place felt dingy and dirty. This didn't sit well with me. They informed me that the cost of the appointment to range from 100-200 dollars. I explained I had insurance, in which they said that doctor will let them know the cost after the appointment. Uh, huh? I asked if I was going to be reimbursed, which they refused to answer. I should have left then, but since I was so sick, I stayed. They were 20 minutes late in calling my appointment and when I saw the doctor, oh boy! His office is in the same room as his examination room. He told me to sit in a dentist chair and performed the exam on me. The place felt so dirty the entire time, which was heightened when he pulled out a scope to look at my throat. Without saying anything, he looked around the room, remember he had a water cooler, got some hot water from it and dunked the scope into it. I thought that this was for sterilization purposes but it might have been for lubrication. I don't know because he never said anything to me about what he was doing! After we were done, I was sent back to the front office. They told me that the appoint was 200+ dollars, in which I asked yet again if I was going to be reimbursed. They refused to answer again. I contacted my insurance company about a week later to notify them of what was going on. They called the office and did not get anybody. Three days later, I am still sitting here waiting for the doctor's office to call the insurance company. This place is sleazy. Stay away from them for so many reasons. The doctor was okay, minus the feeling of dirtiness. He was able to get me healthy again but the hassle for everything else, it isn't worth it. read more

Rarely write a review, but Dr. Schwartz was 100% worth writing about. He spent a full 30 minutes with me. Explained everything and I easily understood all that he was saying. Further, he took particular interest in other aspects of my health, which is unusual, given that he is an ENT. Treated me as a whole human being. We were able to score a last minute appointment with the doctor, referred from a GP with some serious pain. Not only did he spend a lot of time with us to understand the problem, he was kind and to the point. He then referred me to get a CT scan across the street, and actually walked over to make sure the radiologist did the proper scan. Afterwards, he walked us through the probable causes of the pain. His bedside manner is unparalleled, which is incredibly refreshing. TERRIBLE front office--enough to make me change doctors. My first appointment was double booked, so I had to wait 30 minutes. For my second appointment, the receptionist put other patients ahead of me until I complained that I had an appointment at ten and it was then 10:30. With zero apology and a simple, rude expression on her face, she informed me that it would be 5 minutes. 25 minutes later, I got my co-pay back and left. Again, no apology--nothing. I love this guy. I met him for the first time yesterday. they squeezed me in though i didn't have an appointment for 2 more days. I was in so much pain. Long story short I've been to many many ENTs, and he's been the best. He was able to do what 3 other ENTs were NOT able to do and save me a lot of time and misery in the process. Other doctors require tedious camera's and drawn out nasal sprays to accomplish what he accomplished in less then 10 minutes. We had a nice talk, went over my history and he helped me.
