Spectacular breakfast and some of the best customer service ever. Loved the servers and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Just to preface, this is a review based solely on the food. The service was fine, as per usual, no…read morecomplaints there. Our server was very lovely and energic. (And I am sorely sorry to those who had different experiences!) I came to learn recently that Birdy's has come under new ownership within the last year or so. As such, the menu has changed and the quality of the food has more certainly dropped. We used to go there pretty often for special occasions. Birthdays, meetings, etc. Before, the menu boasted variety and class in Belleville that could not top other restaurants. Yet in dining here again in June, 2024, I am sad to say that they have eradicated a good majority of their menu for "basic" and mundane pallets. My spouse and I used to go for their vegan options which surpassed most other places we've tried, yet were surprised to find that the stroganoff we often eat was no longer there. Half the vegan menu was erased. Instead replaced by the simplest and cheapest of curries and another dish. Two options. Two, compared to the four-five that were given before. Also very curious to claim it as a vegan dish when the kitchen nor the new owners have read the packaging on the pita bread that accompanied it. (It was not Vegan so if vegans are eating here, please beware!!) The portions were also a bit small for the extravagant prices. It was one of our favourites and I hope to see return to what it was prior to the ownership change, but it is clear that the new owners are less inclined to think about quality and more inclined to think about the profit it generates. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

Went in on a Saturday night and it was quite busy so take that with a grain of salt. The food was…read moreokay, we had wings and a chicken wrap. However it took over half an hour to get our food, at one point having to ask for an ETA which apparently annoyed the bartender/server because the service after that was horrendous. No wet naps or extra napkins with the wings, didn't ask once if we wanted a refill on our drinks. Also had the unfortunate view looking directly into the kitchen expediting station and were less than impressed with the hygiene we observed. Lastly after having to flag down for our bill because the server didn't come by once to clean up plates, he just handed us a machine although we were intending to pay by cash, still gave a generous tip but weren't even asked if we wanted change, nor did we get any sort of goodbye. Will not be recommending or returning.

The fries are perfect, but I gravitate towards the onion rings, because nobody makes them better! I need tartar sauce for my fish... and I may have to make my own and bring it. It's simple... but, for some reason they've stopped adding relish. It's so easy to make, I didn't think it could be screwed up... but, they have royally messed up. I'll still eat the fish. Just a bit disappointed that it'll have to be eaten dry.
