    Delicious BBQ buffet!
    Mike G.

I met up with a motorcycle group for lunch and the monthly meeting. Loved the building! Loves the food, fresh, hot, great taste and selection. Great bbq, several kinds of chicken, including an Orange Chicken (as in Chinese), tender and great flavor. Overall a def return trip will happen soon!

Rode to the School House BBQ with the Throttle Down Motorcycle Ministries RC on Saturday. Beautiful Scenic ride to Scranton,SC . The building reminded me of a Nostalgic Old meeting Hall setting. The buffet offered southern comfort food priced at only $10 all you could eat. Clean, friendly environment, and huge parking lot across the street at the closed gas station for additional parking. All Required CDC Protocols were followed. The Schoolhouse BBQ offered Hot Buffet, Salad & Dessert Bar Style food as well as items on a menu such as wings, sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, ice cream, burgers, dogs and a host of side orders. We opted for the buffet. Everything is home made and very tasty. My husband had the fried chicken which was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, Creamy macaroni & cheese, collard greens, green beans, and a sliver of cornbread. I, on the other hand had the southern favorites, Spicy pulled Pork,BBQ chicken, Fried Chicken with lots of brown gravy, the okra soup with chunks of tomatoes and sweet corn kernels over white rice, collard greens with neck bones, green beans with ham, corn bread and corn on the cob. Service: 5 Food Taste: 4.5 Food Presentation:4.5 Decor:5 Prices:5 Customer Service:5 Covid-19 protocols: 5+ For desert there was old country peach cobbler,Oreo cookie pudding, chocolate cake, vanilla cake, German chocolate cake, Carrot cake, and Ice cream. Of course I tried the peach cobbler, banana pudding, and the oreo cookie pudding in one bowl. All 3 were delicious. The food was Good well seasoned, well cooked (nothing was sitting so it wasn't dry or burned), no frills, and nostalgic almost like eating at grandma's house after church on Sunday. All staff wore gloves, masked and social distanced. Our seating arrangement was a great distance from other tables and diners. We felt safe which was refreshing considering what's going on all around us. It was a great escape from reality.

If you go in the front door there are a few steps to climb. If you need flat entrances they are around back. The host took us to our seats and explained the buffet to us. It is only a buffet place. But you can order a take out as well. There were two tables of food and a dessert table. The salad bar seemed to never end. Everything was cut fresh with no limp vegetables or lettuce. Marilyn brought me coffee and Bev Tea. It was plenty hot and fresh. I absolutely love their coffee. I had two cups before I even finished my plate of food. Marilyn was very attentive to each table and came to ours often. After I finished my salad. I saw Carie filling a plate for someone. When she was done I asked her if she could get me a chicken breast. My joint pain and back pain had been extreme this week. Using the walker was even painful. Carie said, "Absolutely !" She returned quickly and with a smile. The staff is so kind. The manager Tommy came by our table to see how we were enjoying our meal. I let him know the salad bar was perfect. The chicken I enjoyed was tender and juicy. I also noticed the teamwork between the staff was easy and natural like a choreographed dance. Bev and I plan to return for the Easter Sunday Meal. Check this pace out and tell them Willie and Bev sent you. Ms. Willie Conway.

When visiting for a family beach trip, we decided to try this beloved seafood buffet. Along the strip in Myrtle Beach, the roads are lined with a plethora of Seafood Buffets ranging from small family owned to large attraction-like restaurants. Without having tried any of the other options, I would say this has to be the best in town. The atmosphere, staff, variety of food offerings, and taste were unmatched. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique buffet experience. The exterior of this restaurant is massive and felt like a large Shopping Center with beautiful landscaping, water features, beautiful windows, and colorful siding. Upon arrival, we were asked at the door our party size. They had two entry lines based on table sizes. Since our party was four, we were sent to the shorter line and did not even have to wait to be seated. As we were walked to our table, we passed massive sailing ships complete with rows of hot and cold foods. The ceiling was reminiscent of the ocean skies. The entire restaurant felt like an experience already. I was amazed by the theming, cleanliness, and attention to details. For adults, the buffet is right around $50/person + drinks and tax. The buffet is all-you-can-eat with mutiple serving lines placed around the vast dining hall. As a picky eater, I was honestly a little worried that the offerings would primarily be seafood options; however, I was happily surprised that the buffet line had a LARGE selection ranging from Chicken Tenders and Fries to Pulled Pork and Macaroni and Cheese. I was actually very excited to find so many of my favorite foods and be able to eat just a little of them all! Some other offerings I added to my plate include hush puppies, corn on the cob, fried fish sticks, rolls, and cheddar biscuits all in one trip. My brother is more adventurous in his selection and was able to try different fish and crab legs with multiple trips. They had almost two whole buffet areas filled with seafood dishes that I didn't even visit. His favorite was just the shrimp! They also have a whole dessert room with a wide range of sweet dishes. To be honest, some of the food was mediocre or tasted similar to standard buffet-food-quality. The macaroni was a little bland. The fries were a little soggy. However, the restaurant was so busy that food was being rotated and changed out quickly on the buffet line. Overall, the entire experience was fun and unique. The restaurant was very expensive for a family of four, especially when you're not eating over the top or making multiple trips; however, the nautical theming, food selections, and service set this buffet apart from many others. You'll find something to eat whether you're picky or love the most adventurous of seafood dishes.

Schuler's is a buffet style barbecue and all you can eat. Their pulled pork is their best meat. I wasn't really impressed with their ribs though. Don't get me wrong, the were pretty good but I certainly wasn't blown away. Their fried chicken is good but again not much different from most buffets in South Carolina. Their collards are nice and they do offer hash. If you're thinking corn beef hash, it's not that. It's a BBQ or liver hash and it's definitely an acquired taste. I usually put it over rice if I get it. Hash was highly popular in South Carolina for many years. It can't hurt to try it as Schuler's is actually pretty good.
