All of the meats were tender and delicious. In this region of Carolina the sauce is primarily a vinegar pepper sauce which I really enjoyed. The tables are set up in the perfect spot, right outside the hanger where they cook the meats... so all the delicious smells from the smoke and meats come wafting through. It's a great experience. Don't get me wrong, the were pretty good but I certainly wasn't blown away. Their fried chicken is good but again not much different from most buffets in South Carolina. Their collards are nice and they do offer hash. If you're thinking corn beef hash, it's not that. It's a BBQ or liver hash and it's definitely an acquired taste. I usually put it over rice if I get it. Hash was highly popular in South Carolina for many years. It can't hurt to try it as Schuler's is actually pretty good. It's a small unassuming place in Manning. I have no idea what else may be in Manning. Look, I didn't even know Manning was a place before today. Trust me. Stop in Manning. The food is served buffet style, but the incredibly friendly staff actually puts the food on the plate for you. We each had the all you can eat dinner. Because why not? There's lots of side choices, I had the "dirty" rice with hash on it. Honestly I can't tell you what's in the hash or how the rice is made, but it was amazing. The employee helping us clearly didn't understand her job and had to be corrected multiple times by another staff member--something no customer should have to witness. It created confusion, delays, and zero confidence in our order. We paid about $50 for a sampler, which is not cheap, and yet the same employee argued about giving us the sides because she entered the order incorrectly. If another, more competent employee hadn't stepped in, I'm convinced it would have escalated further. Even then, we never received one of the four sides we paid for. To make matters worse, we were never asked if we wanted drinks to go, and we weren't given plates, silverware, or even BBQ sauce--basic essentials for a takeout order. That's just unacceptable. While waiting, we also watched this same employee tell three separate dine-in families to go sit and wait while she stood there rolling silverware. Completely rude and dismissive. If I had been one of those customers, I would have walked out. This is the first impression customers get, and it's a terrible reflection of how the place is run.
