This is a side of the road all you can eat lunch buffet. It was a nice w size buffet with bbq pulled pork, amazing fried chicken and lots of delish vegetables. I really loved the fried chicken as it was so crunchy and hot. They also had a few options for dessert including apple cobbler and Oreo pudding. This place has gone down on food quality and way up on their prices. We were there Saturday, before 5:00 and the food was not good, the bbq was dry, the fried chicken, breast only, way too much salt on the broccoli and dont even get me started on the Mac n cheese....oh and when you charge so much for the buffet, the tea should be free!! read more

This restaurant has been a long established place in the Pawleys Island and Georgetown area. It is situated in a spot just south of the Pawleys Island community along US highway 17. The restaurant has ample parking for its customers, but caution should be taken when entering and exiting their parking lot on to Hwy 17. The restaurant has a large seating area for its customers next to a fully stocked buffet that is offered. The place is well kept and very clean including its restrooms. The staff is well trained and very friendly to the customers no matter if its opening or closing time. However, it saddens me that I have to express an honest opinion on their pulled BBQ pork. Unfortunately, I feel that their quality has gone down hill over the last year. This is only my one opinion, but I'm hoping that this restaurant will return to its high standards from the past. read more

Back home barbeque is way better. Hog Heaven doesn't even have a salad bar. The barbeque was average. The shrimp were not included on the bar. read more

if i could leave -1 stars i would because this is the most abhorrent place i've ever stepped foot in. Why was there canned squash floating in sewage water??? how are you even serving this to people i think this should be illegal, and dont even get me started on the service... rude waiters and disgusting floors and tables. there was also hair on the serving spoons and the cooks/waiters didnt even wash their hands once even after touching dirty dishes and cooked food. theres also mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. dont ever go there im saving you the hassel read more

We stopped in on a late Sunday afternoon as we headed to Pawley's Island. The restaurant was not very busy and as we walked in, it smelled delicious. Pros: the food was hot and seemed fresh, the fried chicken was hot and juicy and the pulled pork was really good! Cons: The table we were sat at was not very clean and we thought it was very expensive for what you get, not great customer service, we had to ask for more water multiple times, vegetables were bland and not many options. Kids over 9 are considered adults and drinks are not included in buffet prices. Definitely a "one and done" for our family. read more

On a side trip to Pawleys Island SC while on vacation in Myrtle Beach Zvck and I rolled into Hog Heaven BBQ buffet around lunch time. Basic set up with 3 dining areas and a bar around a small buffet. We both opted fpor the bbq buffet and i added the unlimited shrimp (grilled. fried or steamed). Buffet has all the basics plus fried chicken. Pulled pork, sliced bbq pork, mac and cheese, greens, mashed potatoes all were very good. But the star.. the rock star was the fried chicken. Amazingly juicy with a light crispy batter that puts KFC to shame, I ate 4 huge breasts and i didnt need the last two but i couldnt stop myself. The local workers arrived shortly after us and ALL went right to the chicken zero hesitation. The people know. The all you can eat shrimp was a treat as well and we went with an order of grilled cajun season and the teriyaki grilled. Delicious. There is a dessert buffet as well but we never made it. Excellent home cooking in a great atmosphere. We stopped for lunch. A very low key type of place "flops and tshirt required" as mentioned in their tshirts. Food and beverages were very reasonably priced. The 3 of us ordered the lunch buffet for $11.99. A bottled bud light was $3.00. On the buffet were rolls, fried chicken(perfectly done), pulled pork(excellent), fried okra(loved it), boiled potatoes, collard greens, mashed potatoes, corn,peas broccoli, cabbage and sausage, tomatoes, coleslaw plus other things. A dessert cart of Oreos with whipped cream, banana nilla pudding and chocolate pudding. On the table were 4 different bbq sauces-all excellent in flavor. Complete comfort foods. Coming from Los Angeles, I really wanted a taste of the south- this was exactly what I was looking for. The atmosphere was very casual, down home. Staff was very efficient. I can't say the friendliest but our waitress was really busy. I would come back here again when I am back in the area. If I had checked in luggage going home I would definitely have bought a bottle of their sauce to bring home. So happy to have stopped here. Easy to find location just off the highway. read more

I got the all you can eat oysters and shrimp. They were both great tasting and fresh and juicy. Service was pretty good but not great. The ambiance is not why you go there. It is not a luxury setting but the food is so good it makes up for it. I have and will continue to return during oyster season I personally love this place. Great food in a rustic atmosphere. Amazingly delicious BBQ! Normally, we come here for the buffet which is all you can eat for cheap. With the pandemic, we decided to get it to go and got a great fix of our favorite BBQ in Murrells Inlet. We got a to go plate for around $9 where I got BBQ pork, Mac and cheese, fries, green beans, and a roll. It was all so good and very filling. On arrival to this location I could see that they were not incredibly busy which made me feel like we would have great service. On entering the restaurant it appeared very rustic and was very appealing like a barbecue place should be. When we went to sit down and young lady came over and seemed rather flustered at taking our drink order. I could see there was a very small bar that was limited but within all you can eat you're just hoping for good food. I will say the fried chicken was on point and very juicy but the barbecue was pretty dry. The green beans were not impressive but the field peas were good to go. As for the cabbage and the macaroni and cheese, they were pretty decent. The hash had a pretty good sweetness to it but was incredibly thick. My favorite dessert was the whipped cream and Oreos and you could tell that the banana pudding was box kind with some vanilla Wafers thrown into it. No frills at all but I don't know many places you can still get bbq, hash, and rice anymore. It reminds me of growing up here. If you pass by or are in the vicinity and have an inkling for real southern cooking at it's best, this is where you go for authentic southern BBQ. I'm not saying I like my string beans overcooked and soggy, but that's how they do it in the south. The pulled pork is meaty and tender and at each table you are provided with an assortment of different barbecue sauces to sample, mix or use on your foods as you like. The fried chicken, I usually don't like, but I will eat it here, it's to die for and always cooked in batches proportional to the size crowd, to ensure it's freshness. Some of the veggies, I'm just not fond of, but this is authentically the way it is cooked in the south. I'm not saying it would come out of my kitchen this way, but it's always nice to try something different. My husband dives to the collards every time. A salad bar is part of the dessert bar. Some type of chocolate pudding/Oreo/whipped topping and Banana pudding are on the menu for dessert. This is not Gordon Ramsey style cooking, this is authentic, old homestyle southern cooking. Get the buffet, wear old clothes as you're sure to spill something on yourself, dig in an enjoy. The parking lot is limited because it's generally pretty full.
