I've always heard how good they are and I never got a chance to try it when I came to town to visit my sister every few years. I made it a point to go here this time and came here on Thursday , my last day , for lunch before driving to the mountains. Everyone was very nice and the chopped pork sandwich was very good. I'm more used to pulled pork , but it was pretty much the same thing. The vinegar and red pepper bbq sauce was on point like it should be in the Carolinas. The slaw was okay and it also came with a pack of potato chips. It was nice and quiet sitting on the picnic benches and a few people came by while I was eating. I also got a show from one of the local birds flying high enjoying the wind. At first I thought it was a hawk , but after looking at the picture more closely it looks like a buzzard. Anyway , I highly recommend you giving them a try , support local businesses , and it was some good barbecue.

When you walk in, The shed seems smaller from first view. It's actually more spacious than 1st sight. There's several seating areas off to the sides and at the rear of the buffet area. We were automatically seated since we were only a party of 2. The buffet is $15 per person which includes a drink. We both had Sweet Tea. You pay for your meal before being seated. On the table is sanitizer as well as condiments. Napkins are located where the plates along with the silverware and gloves. You are required to wear gloves while fixing plates at the buffet. The food selection is limited but plentiful. Cabbage, Green Beans, White Rice, Stew Beef and Gravy, Mac and Cheese, Fried Chicken, Ham, Fat Back Meat, Biscuits and Fried Cornbread. The food was good but not hot. When the new pan of Macaroni and cheese was brought out. I was like Yessss! However, it was just warm. Looks like more water was needed in the wells to actually keep the food hot. This is my restaurant side coming out. The desserts were rich and tasty. Ohhh, they also offered ice cream- Vanilla and Strawberry. It was truly good to break bread, laugh and enjoy a good meal.

The restaurant was clean and orderly despite the dinner volume of patrons. The salad bar and pizza buffet was freshly stocked and our server asked if we wanted anything special for the bar. I still come home to visit about every 2 to 3 years and visit friends and family in NC and SC and of course stay a few days in Myrtle Beach. Pizza Inn then was nicer inside , dark with dim lights and the red bricks everywhere. It was a sit down pizza place at first and later started doing the buffet. I remember the old heavy glasses with the mascot twirling a pizza and we had a couple at home. I came here September 18th with a high school buddy of mine that lives here now. It had been years since I've been to a Pizza Inn. The last time was in Vegas around 1992 and that location closed around 1994. Anyway , the buffet is reasonably priced at around $10 a person and even though it may not be the best , it will fill your belly with a good lunch. They have several different pizzas that come out , spaghetti , desert pizzas , salad bar , etc. The best pizza I had was the Hawaiian Pizza with pineapple. The desert pizzas they had one that was thick with icing on top and like cinnamon inside was the best , the one that was like custard was kind of strange. I made a nice salad and so did my friend. The spaghetti with sauce was terrible ! We both had 2 plates of different pizzas and a salad with soda so we got out monies worth and better than going to get a fast food burger. In Vegas we have Ci Ci's Pizza which is like this , but Pizza Inn buffet is better. My family had Ci Ci's once and never went again. The employees were nice and our waitress was good about coming by to refill our drinks and take our old plates. Pizza Inn is no longer fancy , but it fits the bill in Laurinburg for a family to get plenty to eat and talk.

We ordered three drinks and three buffets which totaled $63.48. We waited about 10 minutes for a table before the Hostess took us to our table and brought us our drinks. The food was amazing, and the cabbage was my favorite. It was the BEST thing on the menu. The good: Fried chicken wings Cabbage Fried Fish Mashed Potatoes/Gravy Pulled Pork The bad: Mac and cheese - it was awful Okra (too Slimy) Chicken Livers (overcooked) Unfortunately, the foods are mostly fried items. The desserts were average- they had slices of vanilla cake, strawberry cake, banana pudding, ice cream and Jello. If you are really hungry, this is the place where you can eat good, home cooked southern food. B+

Everything I ate seemed to be frozen at some point. Nothing "fresh" or made from scratch in the joint. The food wasn't bad per se but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting. The staff was very friendly, the service was good...I had takeout but the restaurant is a buffet inside. It clearly is a place the locals enjoy and it is an easy stop if you are on the way to the beach. All in all, my favorite was actually the hot dog. The chili was excellent and the slaw had just a touch of sweetness. The BBQ was well prepared, just not my favorite style or taste profile...a bit too much twang. I would recommend Shuler's if you are in the area and look forward to trying other items the next time I return.

The place is a large wooden building that resembles something that would have been built in the 1870's. There are a few bench's and chairs on the front porch to relax in after eating or if you need to wait for a table. They have a general store with some interesting items as well. Schuler's is a buffet style barbecue and all you can eat. Their pulled pork is their best meat. I wasn't really impressed with their ribs though. Don't get me wrong, the were pretty good but I certainly wasn't blown away. Their fried chicken is good but again not much different from most buffets in South Carolina. Their collards are nice and they do offer hash. If you're thinking corn beef hash, it's not that. It's a BBQ or liver hash and it's definitely an acquired taste. I usually put it over rice if I get it. Hash was highly popular in South Carolina for many years. It can't hurt to try it as Schuler's is actually pretty good. Not my favorite barbecue in the area but it's cool place with great people.
